  1. You two okes must be new. We don't behave like this on The Hub. There is no space for this kind of sensible opinion here.
  2. This makes for interesting reading. JB, do you put weight limits to your wheels? i.e. that ZTR Crest 29 with DT Revo's would be suitable for someone up to a certain maximum weight? Do hubs play a part in wheel strength and durability? I weigh 100kg, what handbuild 29'er wheelset would you reccomend for someone like me? Hope Hubs DT Swiss Comp spokes Brass nipples ZTR Arch rims (32 hole)
  3. I dont really want to wade in on the argument, but I am not sure where the rules for Tokai are posted. Specifically for direction on the trails. Other mtb parks in SA have directional routes and clear signage at both ends of the trail. I do agree that there is going to be a huge crash, if there hasn't already been one.
  4. So much aggression! So much stereo typing. So little common sense and manners and courtesy. We are all mountain bikers. Why so much fighting? This has become an angry 'us vs them' thing. Worse than roadies vs mountain bikers Worse than motorists vs cyclists Worse than Shimano vs Campy/Sram I don't see a happy solution for either side with these attitudes.
  5. Less than 50% riders on tubeless tyres? Wow, I thought it would be a lot more than that.
  6. I noticed that too. Unicycles perhaps?
  7. From the Cape Epic website: The annual Rider Survey not only provides feedback on the race services; it also provides insight into the equipment preferred by Absa Cape Epic riders in any given year. The 2011 Rider Surveys indicated the following: 64% of riders bought new bikes in anticipation of the event 18% of riders preferred Specialized, making it the most popular brand of bike in the 2011 Absa Cape Epic. 12% of riders preferred Scott, making it the second most popular brand. 77% of riders rode on a full suspension bike 22% of riders rode on a hard tail 53% of riders preferred SRAM to Shimano (47%) 22% of riders rode with 29inch wheels 48% of riders went tubeless, vs 81% in the 2010 event 39% of riders started out as roadies before converting to mountain biking

  18. Yupp, that's why I use and recommend them!
  19. You need to tell them what spokes you want, or get the wheels built from the custom wheel build section
  20. If you are following a balanced diet, you should be getting all the nutrients your body needs. So, I dont think you need the supplements you describe. I would also suggest that you increase the length of your rides and keep your hearth rate low described above.
  21. So much more than just a bike shop ?
  22. Get the frame that fits you the best.
  23. There was another car 'creatively parked' in the sand just before the Sunset Beach traffic lights yesterday. That yellow kerb is a magnet for wheels!
