  1. I have to laugh at this. Dont they have a quick look at the data before the post it? Its taken a week for them to come up with this mess. Imagine how big a mess it would be if they had more time!

  4. Mavic and Hutchinson worked together to create UST, or Universal System for Tubeless, to solve problems associated with leaving tubes behind and set standards for other rim and tire manufacturers to work towards. To be able to use the UST logo you need to comply to these standards. Many tyre manufactureres dont or wont, but have thier own standards and call it many things LUST, TNT, Tubeless ready, 2bliss ect. A lesson in tubeless tyre tech on Competitivecyclist.com

  7. You would think McLean has shares in Gary Fisher or helped invent 29'ers. No matter how nice your bike is, you still have to pedal it. Wasn't there a similar debate when full suspension bikes starting making their way into the race scene. One half of the mtb fraternity swore by them, while the other half said they weren't necessary. If I remember correctly, MBR magazine did a test where riders were timed on laps with heart rate monitors. They were given Cannondale hardtails and Scalpels for comparison. The riders definitely found the Scalpels more comfortable, but they felt slower. In actual fact they were faster around the same course with a lower heart rate. Hasn't there been a similar test with 26 vs 29'ers?

  16. The Transport Ministry says that speed limits on all major roads will be drastically reduced when the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (Aarto) Act comes into effect later this year, in an attempt to reduce road carnage and save precious fuel. Currently, the maximum permitted speeds are 60km/h on a public road within an urban area, 100km/h on public road outside an urban area which is not a freeway; and 120km/h on freeways, in terms to the National Road Traffic Act of 1989. But according to a statement released by Transport Minister S'bu Ndebele's department, speed limits on all three types of roads are "outdated" and "in desperate need of a rethink". As a result, all limits will be cut by 25 percent. "It is a well-known and undisputed fact that speed kills. Therefore, reducing the speed limit and curtailing reckless speedsters will logically result in fewer deaths on South African roads... which is, after all, the department's primary goal," spokesperson Al Linjest said. ... Justice Project South Africa's national chairperson Wearen Otserious, who said he planned to take his fight against the new limits to the courts, was outraged by the announcement. ... Meanwhile, the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) said that it had already taken part in discussions with the minister about how the new limits would affect the taxi industry. "We met with Comrade S'Bu and demanded that taxis be exempt from these draconian laws. We provide a crucial service to the people of South Africa. How are the people going to get to work safely and on time if we have to drive at 45km/h down the main road?" Santaco spokesperson Yad-Sloof Lirpa asked. http://news.iafrica.com/sa/718516.html
  17. Not that I know of, but Momsen is cooking one up and if I understood the subtle hints correctly, Scott has one in the making too. The Morewood Kwela is available in 29, but that is hardtail.
  18. Chiro or Body Stress Release are two of several options. Your back or pelvis might be slightly skew. Try and deal with the cause rather than fix the symptoms. Good luck!
