  1. The pressure should really be set according to sag. ie its not set 100% according to your weight - but is influenced by how you sit on the bike etc. It should be in the region of 20% of the total travel of the fork (Approx 85 Psi)
  2. I have yet to meet someone who admits to being fit. Ask another cyclist (who is stronger than you) if they are fit and see the vague answer you get. Then watch them ride away from the group without raising a sweat. Athletes are very modest (liars) when it comes to talking about thier fitness levels - unless you get down to comparing resting heart rates...
  3. Thread Hijack on:
  4. The head unit and the sensor on the for have got to be a max. of 50cm from each other. For an MtB, that means that the sensor has to be quite high up on the fork. That also means that it has to be angled in quite a bit towards the spokes so that it still picks up the magnet.
  5. A riding mate of mine runs this combo the other way around
  6. That looks quite pleasant! Great photos!

    Sram in CT?

Have you tried Bridge and Olympic? Avron also has some good contacts...
  9. Tubeless conversion, Crossmark LUST tyres on Anthem full sus 2.5bar (front and rear; still experimenting...) Just over 100kg
  10. Merida has redesigned thier full suspensions bikes - due for realease in '09. You buy that mission now and its already outdated. Nothing wrong with that or the bike. I would just hate to be riding my new bike, and then see the new version in a few months time. Having said that, I came VERY close to getting a Mission 3000 D a month ago. I recently got a Giant Anthem 1 and just love it. Also came from a hard tail and cant believe the difference it makes. More than one bike shop steered me away from GT and Mongoose (and they both sold the brands!). What every you do choose in the end, you wont be dissapointed with - You will love your bike. Most riders love the brand of bike they ride and unless you extensively test ride several bikes, you wont know the difference and by how much one is better than another. Good components dont make up for a crap frame though. My dilemma was filtering out marketing blah blah and everyone's personal opinion and making the choice! Good luck!
  11. If you were to crash and knock one of your litte exhausts off, they would turn to rockets and launch your Nads over the finish line...

    Shades

Rudy Project have a nice range of Photochromic lenses. They are on the expensive side though...
  13. Is there an equivalent in Cape Town? (apart from Cyclelab) I need to get set up on my MTB.
  14. They had the picture and some TV footage of the aftermath on Morning Live. Scary stuff! I wonder how the Mexican law will deal with this guy.

    "Mass Ride"

Sounds great. Who is leading/organising the ride in from the Southern Subburbs? Where will the meeting point be and what time will the ride start?
  16. I thought that climbers get right of way, but seems like there is no real protocol/convention out on the singletrack. Tokai was pretty full yesterday and it seemed that every second group we encountered up and down had different ideas.
  17. or was it in rush because you had to do it before the wife saw where the bike was? Edd Zachary!!
  18. KCNC = Pimp my Ride I got the shop to do a tubeless conversion and put the Crossmarks on.
  19. My Mistress! I got her on Saturday morning and we consumated the relationship yesterday morning @ Tokai. I hope it was as good for her as it was for me.
  20. That's a nice commuter bike! What's your nice/race bike?
