  1. This is quite a fun website to do some window shopping on https://www.wrenchscience.com/
  2. Also just signed up to CyclingTips.com I took the bait on their Tour de France special. First year @ $10.00 Also just connected DSTV for the month of July...
  3. I naively hoped that we could have a sports event without mask on the podium
  4. We haven't had these hotel raids on the eve of The Tour for a number of years. A bit of lastminute.com panic & hype https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/bahrain-victorious-tour-de-france-hotel-searched-by-police/
  5. Using the words 'Covid' and 'positive' in the same sentence can be tricky...
  6. We have been treated to some incredible sunrises lately
  7. Looks great Good cast too
  8. I have done that (road) loop and its pretty awesome - except for any stretch on the N2 and Sir Lowry's pass. They are currently doing some work on the mountain side and taken up a whole lot of road. Whenever we did it, we tried to go early and did Sir Lowry's Pass first. The way that Trail's End had done the loop is so that the pass is at the end, when I imagine traffic would be the worst. Franschhoek pass is generally awesome, but the motorbikes doing their thing in the mornings detracts from that a bit. If I looked into doing it now, I would do the MTB option (on my gravel bike) and would stay clear of Sir Lowry's Pass.
  9. That looks amazing! The gravel bike looks really interesting too
  10. That's a solid line up and makes me thing of this clip
  11. While on the topic of indoor trainers: Rouvy or Zwift ?
  12. Lachlan is Yoda Level Hipster https://cyclingtips.com/2021/07/lachlan-morton-conquers-pyrenees-has-new-sandals-and-wont-sleep-til-paris/
  13. You will probably take 1/2 kg off your bike. Well worth the effort 🤣 I found that using a towel (not a clean one from the linen cupboard, mind you) works well in helping scrub & clean the tyre of the old sealant.
  14. Does he have matching Birkenstocks ?
  15. From our own @Furbz : https://lanoysports.co.za/collections/orange-seal Mine just arrived the other day, so haven't had time to use it yet.
  16. I have been using Dynaplugs for 2 or 3 years on our road bikes with reasonably good success. Especially on the roadside - they are usualy 'plug and bomb' quick. Some have lasted really well, while others have required patching from the inside. I used mushroom plugs for a while, but realise that that they deform the tyre because they are quite stiff. 'Normal' patch and glue on the inside seems to be better.
  17. Agreed. I dont want my tube or bomb replaced - the condition is that you pay it forward. And hopefully that comes back to me one day when I need it.
  18. My Curve fork is quite snug and cosy with the 45mm tyres. I cant fit a thin plastic mudguard in there with much confidence.
  19. I am not sure if the Trek Checkpoint will go that wide (2.2" = 55mm) Curve GXR is cleared to 45mm. Same as Litespeed Watia The Giant Revolt & Canyon Grizl can take a 50mm tyre As stated above, the Sling Tagati is rated to 2.4" https://slingcycles.com/tagati/ Acme CAM has 2.3" tyre clearance https://acmebikes.cc/products/cam-frameset Curve GMX+ can take up to 3.0" https://www.curvecycling.com.au/products/copy-of-gmx-titanium-frameset I am running 45mm tyres on my gravel bike. If it were me looking for much wider tyres, I would be asking myself if my current bike is the correct weapon of choice.
  20. Longer, lower and slacker to cope with more technical XC tracks, but doesn't come with a dropper seatpost? https://bikerumor.com/2022-canyon-lux-world-cup-carbon-xc-mountain-bike/
  21. Awesome Thanks Will order now
  22. I have finally run out of that other brand, so keen to try this one. The 'regular' appears to have a better sealing action than the 'endurance' but doesn't last as long - am I understanding that correctly ? And then, how big are the bottles of sealant that you are selling ? It looks like the refill is a bit bigger than the one with the injector.
  23. Fantastic ride ! https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/22765667/
  24. GALLERY: 2022 HANDMADE BICYCLE SHOW AUSTRALIA, PART THREE https://cyclingtips.com/2022/06/gallery-2022-handmade-bicycle-show-australia-part-three/ South Industries was the only brand from the continent of Africa at the show. They’re a carbon rim manufacturer based in Cape Town, South Africa. Pictured is the company’s RX Road wheelset which features an ultra limited edition hand painted finish by Cape Town artist Paul Senyol. These limited edition wheels were auctioned off to raise money for Ladles of Love, an organisation that helps to feed the hungry in Cape Town.
