  1. I saw someone with one of these in the mall not too long ago. It is a Fennec Fox. Apparently there is a breeder somewhere between Jbay and PE... It is very cute and very friendly.....I want one!!!
  2. I used to have a set of paddleski's, those with the round noses. Getting towed by that behind a boat is incredible, like riding a bike. Take the skeg out and it turns into an ice road adventure. I did mash the bottom a bit, so I was repairing the every week and ruining them on the weekend
  3. I love taking part in cancer awareness events....incredible atmosphere.
  4. Virgin water in the top pic......used to love going for a ski on flat water like that You actually hear ski's starting to whistle at high speed. Don't hear it on choppy water though.
  5. Indoor trainer nightmare....pffft Try falling off your trainer and hitting your head against the wall..... Or Use a air resistance trainer when one of those fans decide to disintegrate....
  6. For the PE guys, go here for updates https://www.facebook.com/TrafficPE?ref=stream
  7. PE disaster management office has been opened due to flooding.... Road between Uitenhage and PE very flooded... Uitenhage to Depstch flooded Seaview road flooded... N2 between Jbay and PE closed Lots of localised flooding in PE Hope you guys get through with no losses
  8. The choice is simple, wear lycra or have your brain removed.....
  9. So tomorrow you take the jetski to work again....
  10. Nike terminated with LA, but will maintain support of Livestrong.....nicely played by them
  11. Wanted to post a video of shaking boobs, so I googled it....now I need that protein shake Agree with reteid...chocolate Steri Stumpie...
  12. I have not cut out coffee, but it has to be the good stuff. A jug of water with a sliced lemon in it in the fridge works very well. I also drink tea, or fresh fruit juices. I use sweetener, not sugar. If there is only sugar I use brown sugar. i don't like the taste of sweetener, so i use only a little bit. Honey also works well for sweetener. It is not hard and fast. I cannot stand the taste of diet soft drinks....
  13. Use the picture and the letters in the code, not just the letters...had the same issue
  14. Enjoy it...the heavens are opening up here...so you should get it by late tomorrow.....cold and wet today.
  15. Yep...we don't grunt at each other like MTB'ers.....(well I do, mostly because I am always in the wrong gear and my MTB weighs 17,5 kg, so coherence is a pipe dream)
  16. I was thinking the lenient sentences might encourage guys to step forward, but you are right....this will place it back in the "covered up" zone....
  17. Most important emergency kit you can take....I put mine in a ziplock bag. If it is a touch phone that does not work with the screen covered, then get one of those R50 Samsung phones from Game with a prepaid card that is loaded with airtime. I bought our domestic one of those this past weekend.
  18. I will stop and help, and not even bother to ask. I have had to turn back on many training rides because I rather helped than train. That being said, most of our training rides in this area are between towns, not in built up areas, so a puncture will leave you in the sticks. Sometimes when somebody stops they do more for your morale, and judging by Ben's post, this was the case for him too. Out on the roads all cyclists are my mates, even the labourer struggling on with his dikwiel....yes I have patched their tubes as well.
  19. Makes plenty sense....I have not had the issue yet
  20. My mind is blown.....wow
  21. Oh ok....not much of a reason, I thought there was more to it, like inaccuracy. I can wait a few seconds more, it only takes five seconds to measure. Do you re-use the strips in the accucheck, or is it because of the blood volume that you tend to lose strips with the contour. I remember my dad had that issue with his meter, if he did not put enough blood the strip is ruined.
  22. Ag flippit.... Why is it a crappy meter in your opinion? (not challenging you )
  23. Call it a restricted carb diet.....but I do cheat sometimes, one or two meals a week. Basmati rice, rye bread, no pasta...basically cutting white starches apart from some potato, but not with every meal. There is no planned method to it. Blood sugar hovers between 6 and 7. I have lost around 5 kg in the last month.... What has definitely made the biggest difference is regulating my portion sizes, I eat half of what I used to a month ago, and have not felt any hunger for the last three weeks. I stopped soft drinks for the most part as well....
  24. I took my meter that uses expensive strips to Dischem and they swopped it for a Contour TS meter, no questions asked....the bonus is that the strips are R150 for 50. Not sure if it was a special offer, but it seems they are still doing it, swopping old meters for new. I am borderline Type 2, so I check once a day to monitor.
  25. Don't get voices like this much anymore....
