  1. Does anyone have the start times of all the batches, or a link where I can get it please?
  2. Thanks, saved my ass.
  3. Does anyone have a 116k entry that I can buy, I am desperate need of one, PLEASE.
  4. This is probably too late, but here goes. I have ran in Asics Nimbus and loved them, but that was a few years back. Then I got the Brooks Glycerin 13. I loved them, so then I had the 14 and now the 15. I have loved them all, but the 15 is just amazing. I gat a pair of Nike Vomero 12 just to rest the Brooks a bit. It is a great shoe, but I find it a bit more narrow. They Glycerin is lighter, but for some reason the Vomero feels more "race a 10k" shoe for me. First impressions, the Brooks are LIGHT YEARS ahead, but as time went by I started to like them more. The Glycerin 15's are still by far the superior shoe in my opinion, and will probably replace them before Comrades with the 16's. My running partner loves the Pegasus range, and I have only heard great reviews of them. The Ghost is to my knowledge also a remarkable shoe and a bit cheaper than the Glycerin. If price is not an issue I would say go for the Brooks. I can also say the Nike Vomero is great, especially at that price. I can not comment on the Pegasus but heard great things. The nikes feel overall a bit more snugg. On durability I can vouch for the Brookd. I am on my firts Nikes so I do not know how they will hold up. All said, go for the Glycerin of Ghost, but the Pegasus is the safe bet and good all rounder. O and the upper on the Glycerin 15 is out off this world, can not even compair it to anything I have tried on.
  5. It has also been a big dream of mine to do this race, but I honestly can not compete with this. Please help this dude.
  6. I also did Deloitte yesterday. I have a bad relationship with that race, and yesterday my stomach gave in on me. What was that yellow/orange stuff in the sachets? Tasted like orange juice. I was very hot and just grabbed one that was very nice and cold and could not resist, but payed for it about 10 min later. It is still one of my favorate races up here. Just as a side note, does anyone have a Om die Dam entry that they want to part with? Wow all of the ultra races sold out fast this year. It did not bother me, I thought it was just new years resolutions, but it looks like people are holding on too the entries. Apparently ultra running is the new mid life crisis. Of you look at how many 100 miler we got now compaired to 2 years ago, wow.
  7. Anyone doing the Dumbe trail run?
  8. Interesting topic this. When i spin at the gym i am around 90rpm, but on my bike i am on 80rpm. Would be nice if someone that has been cycling for a while could way in.
  9. I am looking for new trail shoes. I currently run with Brooks glyserin 13(road), and need to replace my trail(asics). My mom has Brooks trail shoes but she is not impressed. Also want to add that i am not buying Solomons. Any good advise for the best natural long distance trail shoe?
  10. I doubt that anyone that has a firearm is stupid enough to try and mount it on the bike. P.S. its called gun oil.
  11. Thank you for your effort, we can all sor behind our keyboards and moan, but it is guys like you that actually makes a difference. I am sure that the hub will rally and support your efforts, please keep us up to date, and again, thank you!
  12. These peolpe are just simply AMAZING!!!!
  13. +1
  14. I am also by no means an expert, but was also told you can only train and physically prepare for about 50-60km, the rest is all in your head.
  15. Just watched Super Cycling. He said they want to eliminate the fact that when entries open, you see they are open, talk to the family and decide to go, but then by tomorrow when you want to enter they are sold out. That has to be one of the stupidest comments ever. You decide before the entries open that you want to ride and wait for entries to open. I really think this new system is utterly ridiculous!
  16. I am seriously considering doing my first next year, I want that medal and shirt badly. I did the 2 Oceans this year and really enjoyed it, so looking to maybe do both next year. My kniee en ITBs raak sommer seer as ek daaraan dink!
  17. Maybe not my place to make any comments, but I really struggle to see why some women (almost typed girls, oops) are so offended? Would you prefer a female only race where they only have unhealthy food and no tec support?
  18. Cant agree more, although the 'FABULAAAS' at the end might have put a dent in your argument.
  19. Should be really interesting and great fun to watch.
  20. Sounds amazing, not a brain teaser why you picked that specific user name!
  21. It might be a bit heavy, and you will definitely print (which is ok islf your ok with it) but I would be scared that it will come out in a crash. But great excuse for not working in the front.
  22. So you better watch out!!!
  23. You mention that the legal system does not allow you to take lethal action unless you are in immediate danger. This is only partly true. You have to RESONABLY think that your own or anyone near you could be killed if you do not react with deadly force, be it a firearm, knife, pipe or your fists. You mention that the attacks will be a surprise. I agree totally that it will most likely be a surprise, but vigilance is key to minimise that risk. When you are caught by surprise, and take a tumble, sure they might jump you immediately and you might be injured, but being injured does not take you out of the fight. The human body and mind is a lot tougher that you think. Remember there is a difference between getting surprised and handing over your belongings and being in a fight for your life when they pushed you off the bike and started stabing or what ever. With regards to your home invation, firstly glad to hear that you and your family are ok. When you are confronted by a burglar in your own home, the law does not expect you to flee your home or give up. It is reasonable to think that they are there to hurt you and your family. You mentioned that they ran as soon as they saw you, this will most definitely now always be the case, and who is to say they were not running towards your child's room to use her has a hostage? Remember you only have to RESONABLY think their/your life is in danger. You will most probably have to defend your reasoning, so do not defend your plasma tv with deadly force, you will most probably go to jail, and I do not believe personally that the burglar deserves to die because he stole something from me. Also remember that a policeman is not the law, and he most probably knows less about it that you. When I am confronted while on my bike, I would HOPEFULLY realise that there is an unlawful attack on my person and would draw my firearm and defend myself. When someone jumps infront of me like in the infamous gopro video, I would look to escape or I will use my firearm. When I am surprised and pushed off my bike on a downhill I would not get up and engage them, I would let them take my bike and leave, however when I am lying in the floor and he stabs me or hacks me with his panga he will be shot. Like I said, being stabed or shot or what ever does not necessarily mean you are out of the fight. My approach to this is the following: I have a firearm, I am well trained in using it, I made sure I know the law regarding my firearm and when I am allowed to use it. I truly hope that I do not have to use it, but I am more that prepared to do so if need be. That need is defined by the protection of my or my loved ones' life, NOT the protection of my property. Now I am not willing to bet on the nice attacker's humanity to just take my bike and leave me unharmed.
  24. Sorry to hear, glad you are ok. Please don't get me wrong, there are bigger debates in the firearm community about surrender than 26" vs 29". I just don't like it when people say you WILL be fine when you surrender, or a pepper ball "gun" will be fine. Like I said, something is better than nothing. When I am confronted by an attacker that is most probably high on tik, I want the tools to defend MYSELF, not my bike. You will be screwed by the long dick of the law when you start to use your firearm to protect your belongings, I am just not willing to take the chance that he is going to take my bike and leave me alone. When I am in a situation where I am being bike jacked I will assess the situation and decide if deadly force is required or will it be best to just call the broker afterwards. These sort of topics have a very big grey area and I suppose it boils down how you feel.
