  1. This almost makes me wish I did not work from a home office 😉 . Enjoy mate
  2. Hi Chris This should work for your needs https://www.facebook.com/share/12MRw8Caczc/
  3. Guys, it's not Friday yet and we are splitting hairs. Allow me to rephrase. In my take, there are two major groups, some smaller groups, and even some overlaps.
  4. With respect that is then your take 😉
  5. Try being in the car when a learner driver stalls !!! It is a 50/50 , sometimes no sweat at all and life is good, than that one oke trying to make up time on the road who forgets he once had a big L sticker on his car.
  6. My take is there are two kinds of cyclists 1- Those that cycle to work and need a cycle path 2- Those who pay tax, normally on the upper end, have cars and pay licenses, etc that have contributed to society and deserve something back like a cycle path
  7. I call BS , No one gets that mad at someone filming them, something was said The filming started when he was already chasing them South Africans cannot engage with each other well in traffic, try telling anyone anything on the road and you get a poor reaction, Wear your seat belt. Use you indicator Slow down In short, I can't see picking out anyone's road behavior ending well, Cyclist taxi, 4Tuner.
  8. Highly recommended and I would always trust them to keep my bikes running smoothly. Ian and Wesly are hands-on and switched on It may not be the cheapest but it is the most cost-effective. If they could only open a cape branch Please !!
  9. Same same , ACL rebuild has kept cycling a low, to last option, as the big three are straight out the gate (Chappies, else Suikerbossie else C’Nek ) not to mention the last 90m climb home. eBike gets me out more and riding is fun again. I am no longer the one people wait for The smile this gives me is a shield against the naysayers. Ironically the eBike has improved overall fitness and therefore improved Steel hardtail to 😉
  10. I am looking for a 29r non-boost QR front wheel please , to use on IDT so that I can avoid the tubeless setup losing air all the time and the foot pump always being on the wrong end of two flights of stairs. Happy to pay in cash or wine
  11. LOL - just googled this again, and my own post was top result. So I guess not 🤣
  12. I am very interested in something like this, But would want to SlackPack it as a first parse before buying tents etc So eat and sleep at lodges. and Just carry clothes and days foods. Are any others keen to share the planning work on this and share the plan for others to follow in their own time?
  13. Yup , also keen to know and learn more about Cedarberg options
  14. It is a sliding scale On R59 k 1 day R99 2-3 R131 4-7 R163 8-15 R195 16 + R227
  15. I use JaSure , Now Santam switch You load all your bikes and switch on the insurance when you use it. This assumes your storage is safe and secure so low risk. I like the grouping idea though
  16. I went all in with Oakley jawbreaker photochromatic prescription lenses. and they have been fantatic. The price hurt but I was in panic mode before Transbaviaans. (Take a high end pair of sunnies price and double it with prescription lenses.) But now Oakley has changed their offering and I can't get prescription upgrades. so it is a new set ;-(. Mtb Sunnies also take a hammering, extra care needs to be taken to wash and not wipe as you just scratch lenses, especially on longer stages. I would like to investigate contacts and then just vanilla Photochromic lenses
  17. What about "Slack packing" the Cedar Berg?? I.e: no tent and food, only clothes, water, and snacks Trying to look at B&B style options Cedar Berg Oasis looked ideal when we stopped over for drinks while driving Any other ideas , anyone done similar ?
  18. It is close to Friday so another angle for the CPO to consider So what is an 8-year-old tech eBike that is missing its major components worth? Out of warranty, no service history, resprayed but chipped, no battery so I assume no charger, unknown motor condition Must be close to paper weight status
  19. This is crazy - randomly stab, then mug who stops ?? WTF
  20. I disagree, the team thing makes the ABSA Cape Epic. - Candice managing pace https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1104218804249860 - Candice going hell for leather up ou-helshoogte to do the same again and ghost marking her attack and getting the holeshot to stop a repeat. - Beers and Grots - F1 style 60-second wheel change to stay in touch when on the back foot after smashing a rim and multiple plugs not working To mention a few and don't forget the classic "Pussy move " Nah boet stage racing is like test cricket, there is a fascinating ebb and flow that is addictive! Granted it is not for everyone, but there are enough solo races for all tastes, please let us keep this a team one ?
  21. @Shebeen fake news- as below and personal experience the tents were actually pretty good , The upgrade tents were at another luxury level, but standard tents were proper solid canvas.
  22. Sad to see some accidents in the back half of the field, 2 involving tandems which in that back half is normally a noob or youngster. Also some CPR underway with a mate urging his friend to stay with them. I can't get that image out of my mind and sincerely hope the outcome was positive
  23. So the rolling start i.e: when you cross the line is gone, replaced by a gun start for the group. This means everyone wants to be in the front of the group and save the minute(s) it takes to cross the line from the back of the group.
  24. Nice I can see my house 😉 Well i could if my eyes were better
