I happen to support eBikes, but the pain of Suikebossie made me hate you for a minute or two. This also extended to anyonewho had just trained properly and keep something in the bank for suikerbossie, but it wore off quickly and we are all good again 😉

Do your slicks require tubes ? If so go normal with sealant and have a good day out I would also stay with normal as it is better for your gees, the look of slicks plays on your mind.

The question is too wide The Cape Town Cycle Tour - Yes, Races - high debatable Other events that are true races and outside the full road closure space are another discussion. THe CTCT It is not a true race and is rather a mass participation event with multiple Race , fun , charity, carnival elements , it that attracts a large number riders that do not normal ride in any other events, this makes the organisers job quite unique in trying to marry the needs small % of actual racers and the weekend warriors with the one a year specials that make it so special. The 94.7 and Amasova fit into this to mould. So for the 2022 CTCT the E-bikes have being pushed back to a later start time that should not impact any of the concerns raised above . This makes the eBike entry a tour around a beautiful city with the added privilege of full road closure. As a tour which I imagine majority of the alphabet soup sees the event, (which is how i treat it on my MTB ) an eBike opens the event up to a lot more people, improving participation number sand ultimately bringing down the scale of economics and we will not end up with a super expensive elite event that is slowly dieing. We should just apply rules #5 and #6 just roll with it.

I found a happy medium with the continuous ridge , just pump nice and hard , granted it was on commuter bike so was a good choice for mixed use anyway.

Or we can buy the shirt as an awareness campaign , custom shirts without some form of sponsorship cost about that, so cant be a very lucrative.

I have done both, multiple times , the riding is different but equally good, food is top class at both , so are water points ( resupply buffets ) but something about the point to point appeals to me personally , you are going somewhere an the sea is at the end. Choose one and do it , you will not be sorry , than put other on bucket list 😉
