  1. Some positive news regarding this sick story: http://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/western-cape/mec-to-appeal-cyclist-killer-s-slap-on-wrist-1.1108861 Western Cape Transport and Public Works MEC Robin Carlisle has slammed the suspended jail sentence handed down to Andries Zuiderma, the motorist convicted of killing a cyclist five years ago. Carlisle said on Friday he would approach the Director of Public Prosecutions to intervene after Zuiderma was sentenced in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court to five years suspended for five years on a charge of culpable homicide, and sentenced to three years’ house arrest and a R5 000 fine or nine months in jail.
  2. Loved the race and did the 42km. I'm rather unfit (chest problems) and really had to motivate myself to get the middle waterpoint and I was very disappointed with it. The 4x4 Germans where excellent but there was no music, no champagne and no OBIES! Will have to work a bit on my training but doing it again. And the weather allowing views of Cape Point was more than I could ever ask for.
  3. All ready for tomorrow. Had such a hectic week I only got around to putting on new tubes tonight - still had to slime them All the best guys and remember, enjoy it! Its an MTB funride not a road race
  4. Yes we do, we shower after each race
  5. And "hit-n-run" is not a criminal offence, law needs to be changed. All he can get charged with is leaving the scene of an accident and not stopping to assist an injured person.
  6. Saw it last night and it pissed me off too much to post. Its sick to also see that its a global problem, not just in SA.
  7. That also confused me at first but I see, damn that must have hurt.
  8. Got my ingredients for my AJ muti mix and going to make some tonight. If the weather is nice (not windy/raining) then I might cycle from Somerset West to Stellies and grab a bite at McCrappies. Any Somerset West hubbers keen?
  9. My wife gets better than that on CellC
  10. Well I seriously hope the weather warms up. Weather internet-gods have it at 17|11C with 10% chance of rain and 82% humidity. Rain is forecasted for Thursday so I guess where going to see some mud.
  11. Not going to happen, we just discussed that entries cannot be transferred. Bit of a bummer I guess,
  12. Here is a valid reason, you snooze, you loose.
  13. Disagree as the possession of stolen goods is a criminal offence even if the owner is unaware of it. The OP acted correctly.
  14. Unless the weather is crappy like today, I'm also thinking of cycling through. Only an hour slow cruise. We even got one guy who commutes to the office from Stellies.
  15. Good news for a change and where did you recover it?
  16. <?php echo 'burp' ?> I'm leaving my current employer end of month and they need a PHP developer. Great for someone wanting to start out in development. Company is excellent at giving opportunities and gaining valuable experience. Office is in Somerset West and has showers and safe storage for bikes Also the best coffee, a swimming pool, flexi hours, social environment, office dog called Hannes, view of Cape Point, das spreukn Afrikaans baie, has women in the office, has a box full of legos ... wait, hell no, now I feel like staying. PM me if you want to forward your CV
  17. box o' smarties (now lets see the google SEO bump us up another notch )
  18. Guys, lets keep the religious comments in good faith as you currently have. Not a warning, just I'm going to get really peeved if I have to mod this thread at the moment and will use some Mod powers if someone decides to troll this thread.
  19. I've started to only use filtered water in my camelbak and bottles, makes a big difference to tap water. I just go to my local Spar and fill up my own containers for R1 p/L. For the rest, AJ Muti Mix still rules.
  20. AJ Muti Mix !!!!
  21. Glad to hear your OK, the most important thing and a real bummer about the insurance.
  22. Interesting that even though Zyrtec is a 2nd gen AH, it was the highest-grossing non food product in the states in 2008 after it was available over the counter. Use to be prescription. But I would add that if your using antihistamines for more than 2 continues weeks then see your local doctor about a chronic prescription and allergy tests. Just because one AH works for me, it may not be the one you need.
  23. Thought this was going to be a 29er thread
