  1. There have been two discussions started in Off Topic since the approval requirement was instated on Monday. One was a spammer. The other was not approved. Go look at Off Topic here: https://forum.bikehub.co.za/?forumId=14 Look at the dates topics were created pre-approval requirement. You'll see it is not multiple topics per day. We do take our data very seriously when we make decisions.
  2. Thank you for the engagement on this topic everyone. The team has been following and considering every comment closely over the various threads these past few months. The feedback many members shared since we first raised this topic informed the direction we took. Bike Hub is fortunate to have a passionate community. The changes have now been completed and the discussion has run its course. As such, I’ll be closing this thread. If you wish to engage us further, please get in touch through the “Contact Us” link in the footer of this page. Or if you have a technical / support question, please post it in the Help & Support forum. And should you see any content that violates the Comments Policy or Terms & Policies, please hit the Report button under the three-dotted More Options drop-down in the top right corner of the offending post.
  3. Thanks for the detailed feedback. Please let me know whether the new setting does the trick. It's odd that it change. ????
  4. Please check to see if your content viewing setting perhaps changed: https://forum.bikehub.co.za/settings/links/ If that isn't the problem, where on the site are you clicking from? We made changes to the homepage Discussion box.
  5. Thanks for the offer, Frosty. We'll keep you in consideration should we seek assistance. While there is significant activity in the Off Topic section, it is largely related to existing discussions. The rate of new topic creation isn't too high. We may also relax this requirement at a later stage.
  6. This thread? Are you referring to the Current Affairs section in the top website menus? These will be updated with our next code deployment.
  7. We closed the Current Affairs section. One topic was in there, the other was not. We haven't gone picking through each Chit Chat topic just yet. All the information you seek should still be accessible for through Google's caching for a bit. There was also suitable warning to save anything you might have wanted to keep.
  8. All done. Has the sky fallen on anyone's head yet? Jokes aside. If you spot any problems, please let me know.
  9. Good morning Hubbers The changes to the Forum (explained in Matt's post quoted below) will come into effect this afternoon.
  10. It is not happening again this year, unfortunately. The team have their hands full on other projects.
  11. So that's what the big red DELETE ALL button on the admin panel is for ????
  12. We're aiming for next week but its dependant on other work being completed first.
  13. Got you. We'll consider some solutions for this on the desktop menu.
  14. The technology was very old and about to implode. It may have looked like it was working but in the background we were constantly putting out fires which were only getting more numerous as time went on. The options were to do the update, change to a complete new Forum platform, or close it down.
  15. The Alan bike check caused issues when we converted the articles to the new platform so I deleted it. It is on the to-do list for republishing next week. Here's cached copy in the meantime: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:m8k8HgEM6REJ:https://community.bikehub.co.za/features/_/tech/bike-check-alan-hatherlys-cannondale-scalpel-r8227+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=za
  16. There are still processes running the background indexing all the previous content for search. It should improve once done. Otherwise, I usually go straight to Google to search on Bike Hub. Can't compete with them.
  17. https://forum.bikehub.co.za/notifications/options/ Scroll down the page to this????
  18. Unfortunately this type of ordering no longer exists on the platform. I know it is not the same but the next closest thing would be to select the "Take me to the latest comment" as your default in the Content View settings: https://forum.bikehub.co.za/settings/links/
  19. I'll dig around to see if I can find this setting for you.
  20. I'm not too sure what's happening here. I'll take a look. In the meantime, do any of the settings here help you? https://forum.bikehub.co.za/notifications/options/
  21. It would, yes! We'll try to remedy that. Thanks for reporting it.
  22. For now, please try disabling the setting here: https://forum.bikehub.co.za/notifications/options/ Please let me know if it doesn't work
  23. We can't condone discrimination against commuters and roadies by MTBers ???? But some good suggestions ????
  24. Agreed. This is a bit clumsy. We'll think of ways to make this easier.
  25. Are they entered in your profile settings here: https://forum.bikehub.co.za/settings/ If they are, we might need to enable public viewing our side. It also might correct itself once these details have been processed in the background in the next day or two. Also, previously it may have been hidden from public view but you could see your own details. So possibly, some of the information was not viewable by other accounts, just your own. Trying to remember how we had set it ????
