  1. Tapatalk is currently disabled while the Forum upgrade continues to process. There are background tasks running that might take a day or two to crunch the 12 years of discussions. The forums should now be useable on a phone with the upgrade at least.
  2. Hey Wayne Thank you for the feedback! We're excited to finally get this update out. Just as a start, the Forum is currently running a stripped down version of itself. There are a number of background tasks currently running which will finish through the day (there's 12 years of data to process). As they complete, more and more functionality will become available. This includes the Plus memberships and is why you are seeing adverts. We are currently updating the list of Plus members. I've just added you. So you should not being seeing adverts going forward, but if you do, please report it to me! The page 1 issue might be fixed once the background tasks are completed. But I will keep an eye on this. You can also change the default behaviour here: https://forum.bikehub.co.za/settings/links/
  3. The competition is hotting up for the women’s race at KAP sani2c later this week, as Robyn de Groot and Amy McDougall have teamed up at the last minute, and the men’s field has the best of SA men’s mountain biking lining up, on form and ready to race. View full article
  4. Once back online, there will be a thread where you can shout at us for all the things we've broken. The changes are going to be substantial
  5. Just a bump to remind everyone that the Forums will be going offline for maintenance and upgrades at 4pm today. See you all on the other side!
  6. Matt has been showing up to the morning rides on one of these recently. He's yet to sprout any significant hair growth to hide his boyish looks

    GCN+

I'm not taking anything away from their achievement and its a great service but GCN is owned by Eurosport who are in turn a subsidiary of Discovery, Inc.. So my guess is that they are probably piggybacking on some established streaming technology.
  8. Founded by Bart Brentjens, the CST PostNL Bafang Mountainbike Racing Team heads into their 13th race season in 2021, fuelled by Cadence Nutrition. Click here to view the article
  9. Ah, I see now that you were speaking in general. My misunderstanding. Thanks.
  10. Hi ouzo I can't find any communications from you in our support inbox. Although a different system, I see that you did reported a spammer selling "alkaline water" in the forums in September, thanks. Do you recall when you last attempted to contact us? I'd like to try track down how it went missing.
  11. https://community.bikehub.co.za/features/_/news/road/sa-road-cycling/2021-cape-town-cycle-tour-postponed-r8223 "Dear Friends of the Cape Town Cycle Tour As always, the safety of all participants and the well-being of the broader community of Cape Town remains our most important priority in the planning and staging of the Cape Town Cycle Tour. With this in mind, the team at the Cape Town Cycle Tour has been closely monitoring the ongoing developments around the ‘second wave’ of the Covid-19 pandemic. For several months we have been working hand in hand with the authorities and stakeholders around the possibility of hosting a significantly revised version of the Cape Town Cycle Tour in March 2021. Sadly, current circumstances make the hosting of a mass participation event in any format untenable for the immediate future. The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust has thus taken the decision to postpone the hosting of the 2021 edition of the event to a later date in the year. We will continue to explore all available options and opportunities that remain open to us in terms of hosting a safe and memorable Cape Town Cycle Tour. We look forward to bringing you some exciting news in the next few weeks. Keep cycling, remember to observe all COVID-19 Protocols and be safe. With warm regards The Cape Town Cycle Tour Team"
  12. Yes. It was removed.
  13. Wanted ads are a target for this guy. It's easy to pretend to have the product and do your research. We'll take a look into it.
  14. Interesting to hear your take. It's always difficult for us to gauge what's happening on other platforms. From our point of view, we're super happy with the liquidity on the Classifieds this year. The number of adverts placed has been very healthy. While on the flip side of the marketplace, the average life-time of adverts has never been lower, which indicates that for the most part they are selling quickly. So by our measures at least, we believe that it is a highly effective option for selling cycling gear.
  15. It's great to get the feedback and ideas. Thanks. All in good time
  16. We're hoping to offer a more affordable fee for cheaper items in time. At the moment, we are intentionally focussing on the higher value items. Currently we need to improve scale and efficiencies to drop the minimum fee. We also need to test the service in the wild before confidently opening it up to the higher volumes that a lower fee for cheaper items will inevitably bring.
  17. Although, not yet automated on our system. In the case of dispute about delivery, we will confirm the delivery time with the courier and if more than 48 hours has passed, we will confirm the delivery. Unless the Buyer has good reason for the delay that all parties are happy to accept. The Seller is required to enter courier tracking details before they can proceed to mark the item as Shipped, which is shared with the Buyer too.
  18. Thanks for the positive feedback. We're really excited to finally get this out. We have no plans to make it mandatory. Buyers can always elect to avoid sellers who refuse to use it. Our current thinking is that a free-to-use classifieds for private users is important for the continued success of Bike Hub. In most cases, we're assuming that sellers and buyers would have agreed on a price in their discussion/negotiations before initiating the Bike Hub Pay deal. Even so, the Seller can reject an offer from a Buyer if it does not meet their expectations with a note to the Buyer giving the reasons. The Buyer can then make an amended offer. So yes, there is a some negotiation built into the process. The buyer using the credit card will pay the additional fee, not the seller. We're also hoping to bring this credit card fee down a little bit as the service grows.

  20. From the article: "The estimated availability is currently in January or February 2021." No word on whether there is a delay on any specific models though.
  21. Component prices will likely catch up to the new bike prices as soon as the old stock flushes out and the new stuff starts arriving. Always deals in the classifieds though
  22. It's in the pipeline. Admittedly, the pipeline is rather congested at present. It will happen when we bring the ageing Forum platform into this decade. This is pencilled in for early-ish next year.

  24. Hi. When did you report it? I can't find any record of you reporting anything in the Classifieds on this username. Only a few forum reports from April. EDIT: Ok, sorry. I found it. The ticket had already been closed. UPDATE: On checking the report at the time it came in, we had no reason based on the information available to us to suspect that the seller was fraudulent. I can't disclose private information but if you're interested, drop them a message and I'm sure they'll put your mind at rest.
