  1. On Android. When you're viewing a listing page (category or search). Do you see the Filter button in the button left corner? It should bring out all the same options that are available on desktop.
  2. Thanks. Still very much a work in progress. Especially with populating all the events. I'm hoping that the event organisers will pick it up and post their events. Good to know that the quick date links are handy but the date range is also fully customisable.
  3. I'm slowly making my way through the next few months of events. There might be a bit of forum spamming but it'll settle down in the next few days. We'll let some event organisers know that the calendar is up and running so they can start listing their events. But feel free to help me out by listing your favourite events 🙏
  4. Was this dig intentional? 10/10 if so 😆
  5. Sorry to hear about this, MariéK. You can email this company below. They are responsible for the registration the website address. Registrar: 1-Grid Registrar Abuse Contact Email: abuse@1-grid.com Also contact the Internet Service Providers' Association (ISPA) to take-down the website here: https://ispa.org.za/tdn/. A Bike Hubber @Quagga had success with this method recently. You can read about that similar scam here.
  6. This is a worrying case. The address, along with a number of other businesses, is the offices for a law firm. It appears that the director of this firm is a real person. I've checked with someone who has worked with her. Her surname is used on the website you are concerned about. The company registration listed on the website is linked to the same person. I can find no evidence that this person is involved with Online Cycle Store or any of the other businesses that share these details online. It is likely a case of identity theft being used as a cover. The phone number on the website is found all over the internet linked to different (shady) businesses. Including a medical supplies company which appears to use a similar website design.
  7. Hi Shaun There will no shortage of entries becoming available in the Classifieds: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/c/event-entries Just keep the substitution requirements in mind.
  8. Heads up for those yet to enter:
  9. Fun fact: He already did 😆
  10. Just chatted to the media team at the event about live coverage. Twitter will have live updates. There are challenges in following the riders and reception but they will have updates up when possible. And dot watching here: https://maps.findmespot.com/s/FSB0
  11. There is general consensus that it is a scam. That is enough for me to make an attempt to remove any ambiguity should someone come looking with the same question. I'll deal with the defamation suit when it comes.
  12. The name came to mind. In hindsight, I do feel bad throwing him under the bus.
  13. Could do but I'm much more focussed on keeping my own site up than taking others down. Facebook takes their money. For those who see it, it might be worth reporting it there too.
  14. @HenrySI've removed the "Suspected" from your original topic title. Just to make it perfectly clear. I hope you don't mind.
  15. As HenryS said, checkout links you to WhatsApp Web for payment. Avoid! Opens a chat to 0835197762. Also avoid.
  16. https://www.registry.net.za/whois/ Domain Name: mtbwarehouse.co.za Registrar URL: www.afrihost.com Creation Date: 2022-01-16T00:19:36Z Registrar: Afrihost Registrar Abuse Contact Email: domains@afrihost.com Registrar Abuse Contact Phone: +27.116127200 Not sure they'll do anything but maybe worth a try? 🤷‍♂️
  17. The naming is somewhat ridiculous but there'd be fewer races to read about without the sponsors. Perhaps an ad-free premium entry fee instead 😉
  18. That's a long list! Here would be even better 👇 https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/c/event-entries

    99er Cycle Tour

It's coming soon. There are just a few bugs to iron out but hoping to launch a first phase shortly. We've got limited resources and decided to use them elsewhere while events weren't taking place. Thankfully that is changing now. Also, the development of the Events Calendar is significantly funded by those bakkie adverts.
  20. Not too much news for those already following developments but a larger capacity for entries than 18,000 and they hope to have the Expo back 👇
  21. We removed the "Wanted" ad type a while ago to simplify a few things. Search "want" in the category that you're interested in or all categories for the same result.
  22. We changed the styling of the desktop forum to better match the mobile site. Our thoughts are that the user sidebar was a lot of screen real estate with little value and repetition for every post. Hovering over a user name or avatar should show most of what was there. Obviously you valued it though. What was there that you liked?
  23. On serious note, we're aware of the inconvenience that too many adverts has on user experience but it's the best way to make the platform viable. We like to think that we strike a fair balance on the site. Hosting and maintaining a popular forum like Bike Hub comes with some heavy costs and few revenue options. There is Bike Hub Plus which removes the adverts. The other option is to put the forums behind a pay wall but we want Bike Hub to remain open to all, so that's never going to be a serious consideration. Of course, you can use an ad blocker for the site but then Bike Hub receives no support. You can also block other sites with you ad blocker while whitelisting Bike Hub to show adverts.
  24. Nah, it's just you. We've used our unconstitutional dictatorship privileges and targeted your account with extra adverts.
