  1. Ok,.only now noticed a year between your two posts...agree, they can do a lot better! Maybe they dont want the events to grow too big 😜
  2. I must be getting the marketing intended for you...DeVilliers National Cycling spams me at least 2 times a week with 2 emails at a time for their events. 😁 I dont want to unsubscribe though, since I actually enjoyed the last few Boland 100milers a lot and dont do socials much. Looking forward to the race, hope the weather is good (and there are a few DC teams out that I can hook on to)
  3. Very good road race in A batch. Must say this was probably one of the better behaved bunches I can recall. Minimal white line crossing and silly riding (except a small bit towards the end on Adderley...blame tiredness). The start chute management wasn't as well organized as previous years but once we got rolling there were no issues. I was a bit disappointed at the number of riders that chucked their litter though 😠. Cmon guys...you have back pockets. Kudos to all the guys who worked in the front. Jean did a lot of work, not sure who else helped there - I was a shameless hanger-on, but that was all my current fitness allowed 😁. Still managed to hang until the last climb, so I'm happy. All and all a good day out, thanks to the organizers!
  4. Is the clearance at the bottom at the chainstay as wide as at the top? Asking because my current bike also looks fine with 25s at the top, but rubs on the chainstay. Must say, this Titan looks like a very attractive option
  5. Same here. Old man is 70+, so would be a good memory if we can pull it off
  6. Yep, was in the email they sent earlier in the week
  7. Can someone post a pic of the timing board we need please? Misplaced mine and need to show the missus what Im looking for. Suspect the odds of her finding it is MUCH better at this stage 😁
  8. Anyone needing a lift and accommodation for K2C from Durbanville can reach out. Have one spot, maybe two from Durbanville. Leaving Sat morning 8ish and returning Sunday
  9. When does entries close for this one?
  10. Cyclelab/CWC has a Marvel copy of the uswe pack. Not as well ventilated, but 1/4 of the price
  11. No...maybe that's why he was fined!
  12. Ek het paar keer die bank se armleuning vasgegryp!
  13. I also used surgical gloves for a while, but the sweat wasnt ideal and one cold morning I rode with just one (running late, couldn't find stuff in the rush...) and there was no diff between the two hands. Got this since and it seems to work a bit better - for me at least. YMMV https://www.firstascent.co.za/thermal-liner-glove
  14. My sequence... Two socks Neoprene socks Two socks + neoprene Two socks, neoprene and some newspaper around the socks
  15. Subscribed
  16. Tell that to Coolheat who told me my previous 10sp XT chain snapped twice in first 100km because it is directional.and I put it on the wrong way 🙄. Did get it warrantied in the end.
  17. The feature of setting us profile via Garmin Connect in the 540/840 almost makes an upgrade look justifiable. Agree that its just a royal pain to configure profile on the device
  18. +1 for the free options (MyWhoosh or IndieVelo, because Im cheap...) plus some podcasts on Z2/steady efforts. Tried Netflix series recently and that also works for me. If I do a workout I'll swap the podcast for music - whatever gets the adrenaline going.
  19. Regardless of all the segment talk above - Good luck to anyone attempting this. It is a truly monumentous day out and a massive achievement to anyone who completes is. I'm not crazy enough to attempt this again (yet)- 1x half-everesting was tough enough. That said, I know I'll have FOMO on the day and may rock up for a few support laps.
  20. I'm not involved in this Everesting attempt, but have been in a few previous ones and we had exactly the same questions. I mailed them, didn't get a reply, but we went ahead anyway an every one of the participants were recognized. Rules haven't changed, so I'd be surprised if it will be an issue but agree that it may be a good idea for the organizer to try and double check. I can send some sample hall-of-fame activities for verification if you want. (I wouldn't hold my breath though - they didn't respond quickly on email - maybe try Facebook) W.r.t the looks like a loop issue - was also present last year and I also enquired. Feedback back then was that it's a known bug and could be ignored. https://www.facebook.com/groups/everesting/permalink/1644624899367045
  21. The segment is ok. Weve done many recognized Everesting attempts there over the past years. The problem with stopping right at the bottom is that is makes the turnaround dangerous.
  22. Also find it strange that they don't entertain warrantiesm Definitely not my experience, although I had the older Pulse and Amp wheel...not sure if warranty policy is different, but I always experienced great service from Dayle. My Pulse rims (alu) cracked/split and was replaced without issues. When one of the replacements split as well, I got an AMP at a discounted price (I requested the amp rather than another Pulse replacement). So really no issues with support/warranties
  23. Entered! Good marketing from CTCT 😂
