  1. I had two scott shoes crack on me. One was carbon, out of warranty, tried a more flexible one after that, still cracked within warranty so at least got a refund. Now on Shimano, so holding thumbs.
  2. Which brand are they?
  3. Has anyone found an app with a decent wind prediction yet?
  4. Chris, I love your attitude w.r.t eBikes. This is the right way. Unfortunately there is also the few that spoilt it. Like the guy on an eMTB in @ a few years ago who didnt understand why I was...lets say less than friendly...about his presence in a bunch bleeding through the eyeballs. But Ive also seen how awesome the eBikes are in tje later groups when used at intended by the mail above. Couples riding together having a blast, granddads with their sons and grandsons, etc. So I fulle support inclusion of eBikes like they are trying to facilitate here. Holding thumbs people keep the their side of the bargain!
  5. Just bought a pair of Hiserwa with the elastic interface pad. Not bad, but I will try one size smaller next time. Doeesnt have multiple panels so the shaping around the hips isnt....premium....but for the price Im happy. Im keeping an eye out for other brands with this pad, let me know if anyone found some
  6. Where do you buy your malto and fructose in SA?
  7. On another topic. I was just notified that the courier delivering my package has been hijacked. They were here two days ago but I was at shops, and they did send a photo of my gate, so I'm certain someone was at least trying to deliver on Wednesday . Aliexpress immediate processed a refund, and Absa confirmed as well, so all good there. Question...what is the process w.r.t refunding the duties and vat? iMile logged something and said theyll process a refund, but the lady wasnt super clear on whether she was referring to the duties or the refund done by Aliexpresss. Anyone have any experience? Im assuming thats my loss for now, but holding thumbs iMile has some insurance or something.
  8. Same here, did a bit of querying and seems like duties is 45% and the vat needs to be added. Also looks like vat is on the total price...(price + 45% + another 10%). Was around 80% in my case. According to that cals iMile is adding another R50 to R80.
  9. Email body below. Looking for new revenue streams? Anyway, it reminded me to unsubscribe from his spam, forgot to do it after the earlier debacle. Sy indrukwekkende portefeulje sluit in die monumentale Theuns Jordaan Tribute-konserte by Loftus Versfeld, DHL Stadion en Amsterdam; Steve Hofmeyr Ikoon by Moreleta Park; Steve Hofmeyr Live by die Taalmonument; Turn Back the Time; 100% Retro; asook groot sportgeleenthede soos die Emperors Palace Cycling Classic, Groot Trap, Tour du Cap, Run with Zola, Paarl Boxing Day en die Montecasino Classico.
  10. Looks like we will have some thrilling content to watch over the December holiday! Anyone else get this in their mailbox this morning?
  11. I will never buy sram brakes again. I had level TL's that literally went away at the top of Montagu Pass...most hair raising descent ever. Ditched them straight after that for Formula Curas...super happy with the decision. I have AXS GX, that will be a great upgrade over NX in terms of longevity from what Ive read. Cant speak to the additional benefit of XX1. I had niggles with getting the shifting to work, but after a wheel rebuild its been perfect, so must have been some alignment or spacing issue on the wheel, not the derailleur itself. The microshifting on the fly is very nice, helped me finish a stage of Tankwa when the hanger bent a bit and I could only get into 11 of the 12 gears. Long way of saying...get the AXS, keep the Shimano brakes until they die. (When I got my bike, carbon rims also felt like it made bit difference over my previous alu rims, if you are looking for something else to upgrade instead of brakes 😆) My 2c
  12. Amazing...the API fiasko of last year prompted me to consider what I actually get from Strava. Needless to say Im back on the free version, does all I need. This is a next level of p***ing off your stakeholders.
  13. Does Wahoo allow different ride types? Strava allows you to assign a different bike to different types of cycling activities. That then automatically pulls through to ProBikeGarage, not sure about the others.
  14. Another vote. Brilliant app
  15. The next chapter in the handbag fight is now playing. See the new comments in the post to the Rapport arricles today and DeVilliers' reponse on FB. Shenanigans at a Theuns Jordaan tribute show in Amsterdam too. Moaning about the artists fees after the fact? Surely one gets all the quotes required before you put on a show to determine feasibility?
  16. Cant take screenshots of the Netwerk24 article, but Coleske is just commenting, it's not their festival(s) in trouble. The article is about the Steve Hofmeyer Ikoon show thats postponed and DeVilliers National Cycling's trouble related to that. Google this and see if you can access the articles. devilliers national cycling "ikoon"
  17. Yeah, saw that. Luckily I only entered the Boland 100miler at one of those once in a lifetime never to me repeated sales, so the monetary risk to me isnt that big. But is would be sad for road cycling if this affects their cycling events...the events themselves are lekker.
  18. Sien is glo, maar voel is wragtag
  19. I'm not a fan of Scott shoes any more. Had 2x soles crack. First the Vertec Boa where carbon sole cracked around the cleat - about 15 months, so out of warranty. Then got the Boa Comp MTB, cause I really like the fit. That pair lasted 11 months. At least I got refunded under warranty so I can't fault Scott there. It's a pity, cause I find them really comfortable shoes, but at R3k I expect them to last much longer than a year...my first pair of Olymics lasted almost 5. Will probably look at Shimano XC502 or Spez (or the Bontrager suggested above)
  20. Stupid question...what is the difference between a freewheel and a cassette? I thought they are two different things working together to make the wheel turn. 😊
  21. Checked now. Link is broken, but you can find the 2025 event directly on the EntryNinja site. Will let organizers know
  22. I did two with them, no issues. But I know of one of the elite ladies was told to take it off by the csa rep a few years ago.so maybe they turn a blind eye to us regular folk
  23. I see they have a nice Easter special, which was extended to this Friday: Riders will have until Friday to cash in our 50% discount offer and only pay R340 for their entry. Use the voucher code EASTER at check-out to get the discount. We are very conscious about finances pinching many avid road riders and we wanted to do something special to bolster participant totals for the race. The 5th edition of the Boland 100 Miler Road Race takes place on 26 October 2025 in Paarl. Enter at www.toptickets.co.za That's a bargain for a lekker race!
  24. Probably still more than Zwift, but not as bad as it was. They also now release two versions. the standard one has less roadside eyecandy, so use less resources.
  25. MyWhoosh also a good option for free
