  1. I used Cytomax for a couple of years. I have now gone over to 32GI because I found that Cytomax did not mix well in low temperatures in Winter.
  2. Check for cracked bottle cages
  3. For the gurus out there, please help. Is there a difference (on average)in the distance from the BB to the skewer in a 29 " and a 26" bike? If there is how does this effect chain length? If the distance is greater, is there such a thing as a 29" specific chain?
  4. Had acute ITBS, but after Cycle Fit setup on my MTB, have never had an issue again Best money I have ever spent on my bike.
  5. Number one priority - ensure that you have a proper bike setup done. It makes the world of difference. If your setup is incorrect, the ITB will not go away. Be disciplined about stretching after your rides! You can download ITB stretches off the net.
  6. Tried on a Rudy Project in the LBS the other day and it was amazingly comfortable! The comfort however could not justify the price.
  7. Squirt in dry conditions
  8. Had meniscus done on both knees and if they just cut/shave off torn bits you will be encouraged to be back on your bike in 2 weeks. Not sure about running.
  9. I have used Evans Cycles with no problems. https://www.evanscycles.com/payment/register#Dusty2010-05-07 05:49:40
  10. Cape Storm make a fairly nifty device they call a"Cranium Cooler" which works well for me.
  11. My X9 came as a medium for my stumpjumper
  12. Same saddle, same issue. Spray some silicone spray into the ends of the rails where they meet the saddle. After a few kms should be sorted once the silicone has had a chance to work in.
  13. Scrubbing brush then Methiolate

  16. My better half and I would love to do the ride too.
  17. Can anyone suggest a good cycling computer that is robust enough to withstand the extreme conditions associated with the Freedom Challenge. Features like heart rate, altimeter and temperature would also be good.
  18. Have used both. Pretty much 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. Did find that eggbeaters cleared mud slightly better though.
  19. Pretty easy to service. There is a tutorial on Crank Bros website that shows you step by step.
  20. My bike was set up by LBS. I suffered with chronic ITB. Did the whole medical/physio route. Got Arran Brown's name off the Hub and went to him as a last resort before surgery. He made minor adjustments to my setup and I have never had a problem again. It was the best R350 I have spent on my bike. He is totally professional and I would not hesitate to recomend him.
  21. Did the 3 Towers at Mankele on the weekend and down a rocky descent I lost a break pad. Eish no brake. Have Juicy 5 s. I think that the pads are held in magnetically. Is this a regular occurence? Can it be prevented? Any help would be appreciated.
  22. Can anyone tell me if these rims can be converted to tubless sucesfully? If so, using which system. Many thanks.
  23. I bought the Oregon ATC 5K essentially for padling. It comes with a helmet mount. I have been very happy with it. I googled the make and model and found a local supplier around the corner.(GP) If you do not find one in your area give me a shout. (paid in the region of R3K for it)Dusty2009-07-11 05:38:20

Topping up has worked for me.
  25. Have same rims and have just fitted Specialized Captains 2.0 and only broke one tyre lever! Captains do not have same rolling efficiency as TTs, but worth a look at.
