  1. Wil jy rerig net copy/paste wat jy klaar gese het? Onthou wat die conclusion was oor social media. Jy’s obviously verveeld. Gaan hou vakansie 😆
  2. Duck. Water. Back. Dont let crap like this live in your head rent free.
  3. This. They are pricing themselves out of the local market a bit and i think it’s purely based on perception. There is money here. People pay stupid money for desirable bikes…and there lies the rub. Maybe they dont care…but the prices of their alloy frames rival some exotic carbon versions…and unless you are a die hard fan…choosing between a relatively ‘vanilla’ Pyga branded bike and something more exotic is not a hard choice for many…even though the pyga will cone with epic local support. I think thats why they also don’t hold second hand value that great. And I say this as the owner of a 2024 v2 hyrax which i picked up on here for nearly half price for the wife. I built it up into a superbike and damn are they awesome bikes. Well built, reliable, versatile, ride great etc…i just think they are not playing the marketing game right when it comes to selling themselves as a niche, cool local mtb brand. Look at any other foreign boutique brand out there…they flog the cool, upstart factor hard, as they should, they dont have the brand loyalty of the cookie cutter brands (spez, trek, giant etc). They need to be cooler than those brands…so that suckers like me who likes having weird things fall for it. Pyga, we need you to try harder please. Be a cool mtb brand again, do something!
  4. It’s because nobody really cares about these stats. The only stats that matter on bikehub are the ones which prove who was talking the most k@k during the year 😊…thats what we are waiting to see. my bet is on @ChrisF again😅
  5. Also brings it back to the actual problem in that spot….local gov has no pull to remove people from that PRASA owned land. Ive already mentioned it but It took years, an election, a coalition government and new ministers for national gov to finally agree that a national keypoint, heritage and tourist attraction (the castle) shouldnt be a squatter camp - which finally gave local gov the scope to get vagrants moved. we all know WC government has been lobbying for years to be allowed to self regulate local rail infrastructure too - you know, to hopefully get it to a point where it actually is useful to the people of CT again. The fish unfortunately rots from the head….
  6. We complain a lot, guess its also just complacency, but yes - we forget we are lucky with what we have available on our doorstep….and tygerberg is just a scratch in the surface. If you get bored you just choose another trail network and go.
  7. I dont thinks its this. Society has always been sh!t. People are sh!t. Bikes have just reached a point where they cost more than cars…and they are easy pickings. What changed is, the skollies and the syndicates who pay them also know now. If bikes were macro bike money, i doubt there would be as many incidents. They would be aiming their talents at the next big/easy score i stead. i bet you everyone in a VW or Toyota forum also thinks the world has gone to sh!t😅
  8. As a pedestrian, I once got held up at knifepoint near town hall. We stayed in obz back then and on my way home stopped at woodstock police station to report the crime. I was told to go away because it happened outside their jurisdiction….. my wife once got in a fenderbender with a foreign uber driver. He drove into the back of her. CT metro cop was the most helpful person you could want on the scene. Go to city police station….first thing the arrogant twat behind the counter asks me os where it happened as they first need to work out if its their problem. The metro cop told us to go to city. I told the guy the metro cop on scene pointed me there. He proceeds to tell me ‘they dont listen to WC metro police’ and even though i told him the address, he made me show him on google maps where the accident happened. tells you what you need to know about the bunch working at police stations in my opinion. Don't expect them to do anything imo. They are likely still trying to figure out on google maps if maitland, woodstock or milnerton SAPS should care, although we all know it’s woodstock. If this is their approach to ‘protect and serve’ - as in when and how it suits them…dont expect much. its questionable how some of them make it past the physical to become an officer. Never mind their questionable ethics. Its just a 9-5 to them. No higher calling here.
  9. Id be willing to help out by enhancing it digitally while also showing you what it could have looked like with your photo and ID number on there👀
  10. Not to mention during school days there is actually a ‘pad patrollie’ helping at the turn-offs
  11. Saying there is no other option is not true. Other options have been communicated on here already. Koeberg, cannon, Berkley being one since the road opened into obz. That gives you a few options going into town too. Navigating the bit from parden island over the interchange will be a faf sure, but no more dangerous than navigating marine drive onto the ‘highway’ in peak traffic and past that **** show. But i mean hey, if the extra effort and few extra km is not worth it….🤷🏻‍♂️
  12. https://www.ewn.co.za/2024/12/11/n1-highway-into-cape-town-cbd-fast-becoming-a-smash-and-grab-hotspot i particularly like how vague it is🤣. Guess the clowns at Woodstock police station don't want to look bad.
  13. Anything and everything between Marine drive bridge, Lower church bridge and a few 100m past lower church. Basically the whole stretch of road next to PRASA land on the “N1”/FW de Klerk Blvd
  14. They’ve been asking…but cant until national gov/prasa agrees. Remember how long it took to clean the castle grounds? Wel i suspect this will take even longer, and get way worse before it gets better. National gov couldn't be bothered by a smelly dustbin in WC’s kitchen…some would say they prefer it that way. Once those fences go down proper, theres scope for a whole new suburb on that land.
  15. Can people just circulate on these same groups that its not safe to ride there currently? Is it stubbornness or Ignorance? There is a ‘viable’ alternative as someone already mentioned (via Berkley and Amazon) yes its a detour and likely has its own issues yet to be unearthed. But still. I see people riding in/out from lower church at least 2-3 times a week while sitting there for that short bit. I always wonder to myself if they are oblivious, just blind to their surroundings or perhaps think they are Chuck Norris? Why even risk it? None of the guys/gals I see look like commuters either. Not worth the risk.
  16. It stops being a highway at one of the earlier bridges. I think at the marine drive bridge and the speedlimit is 80kph.
  17. Yes you cant mix 10/11 speed shifters/mechs etc. Chains are a different story. I wouldnt use a 10spd chain on 11 purely because the cog spacing will be an issue, but 11speed chains being a ballhair thinner means putting 11 spd on 10spd - they run so much more quiet on the rear. They almost dont touch the next cog while turning…but are still wide enough to shift perfectly fine. We are talking fractions of mm’s. i personally used 11speed KMC chains on my 10spd stuff. I now use 12spd XX1 chains on my 11 speed stuff. Gravel and Mtb. I promise you…at R2k+ for XX1 chain…i wouldnt be hacking it just to see if it works. I know it works
  18. I shamelessly do the same😅. Although CWC, which is now a CL are wise to this…they begrudgingly do it though. They full well know bike addict never carries stock, and the price match policy states the other store must have the item in stock. so here in CT shops frown at you when you say BA. Also check and use Obike for CL pricematch; https://www.obike.co.za/?srsltid=AfmBOorqRU-c4biyrotlpBspd05RY-xo24EWyp6AWNMgdprCZrSWgD4X omnico’s non B2B online store basically. CL then has no leg to stand on because most their stuff comes from there anyway lol i used this to get R600!!!! (R1800 vs R1300) off my new fav floorpump in the universe - the Ryder Airtank 2.0. Using it is what it must have felt like to discover fire…seating a tubeless mtb tyre has never been so easy. after i asked for pricematch, I also waited to the last second to deal the final blow…adding my R400 ‘mycyclelife’ voucher👀 that then meant i also got to choose a free R100 item from the sales table to to total amount spend haha. ‘Cleaned’ them out that day for no real money - #notsorry
  19. 11 speed chains work great on 10speed. Similarly 12 spd chains on 11 spd. Ive been doing it since 10spd. Hell, i even have and 8spd chain on a vintage 6spd bike. Ultegra/XT are the same thing. XTR/Dura Ace too. Its right there on the packaging. As an anecdote…shimano Saint 10speed DH groupo is mostly used with 10spd road cassettes with last 3 cogs removed to make it a 7 speed (with 10spd spacing. Road cassette ratios are closer).
  20. Agree, thanks @Wannabe @Nick @Matt our esteemed overlords…is there a way to pin, sticky whatever Wannabe’s post calling for people to come forward with info? Seems his efforts yielded some fruit and this is gaining traction. Cant help but feel that now is the time to do what we can to help the situation - for all of us. It has to gain enough steam before the end of the year, otherwise people will just conveniently forget over the holidays. Cant we muster 10000 signatures on a petition too?
  21. So i dont want to sound too inhumane, but i sit in that traffic everyday and ive notice that part of the reason that settlement is growing and being sustained is because there is a freely available, what looks like a fresh water source. There seems to be a pipe/valve/tap or something where they line up to collect water every morning. By the fence. Dont know if its something that feeds the my-city station that got intersected/appropriated - but dort that out and it will sure halt the speed at which people are moving there?
  22. Oops, missed that. Is that why you are ignoring my Whatsapp’s Guy!?😅.
  23. Edit: see you next year Guy💪
  24. Yes, all this bib talk…i rode bikes for 25y before i got my first one. They help for longer rides, but good fit/saddle is more important and it’s not a must. A bib wont do anything if the saddle is wrong. I ride without one often. OP, if you are relatively new to riding bikes for longer periods of time…it WILL hurt the first few weeks, even in a bib. There is no replacement for time in the saddle.
  25. 5ten freeride pro + deity Tmac is the closest thing you’ll get to feeling clipped in on flat pedals imo. I actually don't always like how solid the connection is, once you put your foor down you literally have to lift to move. If you arent used to it you find yourself fidgeting for the first few meters to get your foot in the right spot. At least on clipless you have float. The Adidas rubber deffo feels softer in hand than the 2FO - but my 2FO’s are clipless so cant comment on how they feel compared to 5ten on platform pedals. I’d buy whatever is available, and that means 2FO for most of us. just dont even bother with those Etnies shoes that you can find locally, those with the Michelin soles. Those things are Semenuk etc signatures for a reason….they are made to not be totally locked in for tricks and stuff imo. If thats what you want…then great. I hate mine…use them in the garden now since they are waterproof. They were the reason for the 12 stitches on my left shin lol
