  1. This is the way
  2. This is the type of advanced narrative sarcasm I signed up for! Beautiful 😂
  3. https://evobikes.co.za/product/shimano-csm9100-sprocket-unit-10-12t-new-code-sold-as-a-set/?srsltid=AfmBOoo4Cu9KXjWpPXyG-TCNEACsg5R3ziDt-fpfX3wt8tdJ-GDO0_7-
  4. Just to be clear @ChrisF, I was not implying you were impressed by the security room and therefore a know-not 😅
  5. That security room is probably like the bling express passport control gates at the airport….built to look nice and impress the know-nots, while providing anecdotal proof of government spending, but unfortunately not connected to anything that would make them function 😅
  6. Nice! Still wanted that (retired) Soma Saga huh😅? This looks much nicer though. don't forget about here: https://www.merlincycles.com/search?w=Carbon+fork PS, as Droo mentioned already, Dave has access to the full Columbus range too. They do carbon forks as well. https://www.columbus1919.com/en/carbon-forks/
  7. I agree that its personal and you’ll likely have to try quite a few before you find The One. But i’ll share mine anyway: Spez Bridge Mimic. Ive tried one or two other saddles after this on a whim (and MANY MANY before it, from Brooks to SQ labs and everything in between)…and i keep coming back to the Bridge. I found my happy place on it. It just works for me and my specific ass. Supremely comfy for hours on a mtb. Also not overly long so when you slam the dropper…it doesn't get in the way like some others. https://www.mbr.co.uk/reviews/saddles/specialized-bridge-comp-saddle-review-2
  8. Bra…ek gaan bier in my camelback sit en agterstevoor om ry….
  9. Volgende jaar kom ry ek saam. Serious fomo.

    Bikehub Pay

Depends on the value. Ive had people ask because at larger numbers…BHP adds a not insignificant amount to the transaction. What usually ends ip happening is, they negotiate the price lower to compensate. Is what it is.
  11. Ill put this here as a reminder for first timers and since a few of the German store names have been mentioned above. DHL shipping does not mean DHL Express. DHL shipping will hand your package over to local postal service..ie, SAPO. DHL Express is a courier-to-your-door service, as is UPS or Fedex. if you are willing to gamble by allowing SAPO into the equation on expensive packages, then thats a risk you need to consider. R2 Bike (also german) is one of the few german online retailers who ship here with DHL express as an option, but then only up to a certain value. its always worth emailing a store and asking for express shipping. Some of them do entertain you in this regard. PS: the yearly limit on personal imports on your ID number has been increased from R50k-Max 3 purchases…to R150k-Unlimited purchases. More than this and you will need to register a import license with SARS.
  12. Well if you bump membership fees to Lourensford levels, you pay your bond off in 3 years 😉😇
  13. Dont worry, they’ll never reach even reserve😅 thats….enthusiastic. You can buy a proper wine farm for less than that. Anyway, the person who ends up buying it for whatever price will redevelop. Prime location for another clara Anna…and with the influx of northern semigrants, there’s no shortage of people willing to pay to live in an overpriced gated communities.
  14. I’m by no means a Sendy McSendface, but I agree that once you sample how a properly built jump should feel, going back to Bloem just makes you feel like nothing works and you cant do anything properly. Maybe if you rode a bmx or skateboard… Theres a subtle art to building good, safe mtb jumps that instills confidence and promotes progression. The ones at bloem are not them. They probably have their place…but i dont think they are as beginner friendly as people try and make out purely due to how their transitions are built. PS…saw this at Rheebokskloof the other day. Looks a bit dirtjumpy but probably worth a try:
  15. What a load of horses**t… Couldn’t help myself. Sorry (not sorry)
  16. If they have stock….3 working days max across the country. More than that and I start chasing and being a thorn. I blame the good stores I deal with regularly for these high expectations 😅 Local to your city store = same or next day depending on when you ordered. At least here in CT. 11 days is obscene. I order stuff from us, europe, uk or oz and get it within 5 using DHL or UPS. There are slackers locally…So vote with your wallet.
  17. Came here looking for this comment… Edit: not to mention that 2.2 tyres on 30mm ish rims will inflate pretty square and probably feel weird. Also, If you are going by feel…you’re likely running the narrower tyres harder…
  18. Then there are guys riding around tygerberm on 2KW modified e-bikes that can quite literally wheelspin aeay from a stop and they are proud to tell/and show you too.
  19. Thanks, now everyone knows what i know…that im average at best😁 But someone else said something this week that resonated with me after my crash, you cant ded this hard riding slow steep tech….but going mach3 on a flow trail ( where most e-bikes live) and crashing will almost always result in serious injury. Tangent - more proof that if you feel a trail is too easy…go faster, because the consequences will grow exponentially.
  20. Sure thing! Look, i was not looking to question your skills as a mechanic and I obviously hit a bit of a nerve claiming what you do for a living (assuming) isn't ‘that hard’. Sorry, and im glad you are passionate about it. I get it, i would too. All i’m saying is, bicycles are not that complicated (to me) and not EVERY home spanner is a complete and useless noob to mechanical or electrical systems. There are people out there, on here, who design, build and take apart way more complicated things for a living. 💪🙌
  21. Like the old lyne ones…
  22. ‘Some home mech’ would not even know how to get to a pawl in a hub. a home spanner who knows a thing or three though would probably not even own these in the first place. Bicycles are basic, simple machines. I own more complicated lego sets😇
  23. You must be new here?🤣 i got about 5 of these last week alone.
  24. How many of you have seen these delivery ebikes on the N1 in the yellow lane? (In CT) Something will be happening soon enough. They wont leave it free for all…and those e-delivery things will be the reason. Whether or not your R300k turbo Levo ends up as collateral will probably be an unfortunate secondary effect..unless you could prove you use it ‘offroad’ like a MX bike i guess?
  25. if everyone who reaches for the “marvellous free market” or “glorious capitalism” memes - could please do so in a less communist way…that’d be great thanks😇😁
