  1. Those in the vid are gemsbok though 😉 Dis omdat jy nie die video kyk nie! Skande @Robbie Stewart Ive only seen them once. Tend to see the Eland up to afterburn more. Scary coming around an uphill switchback with a bok the size of a working horse in the trail 🤣
  2. Saw more crashes in 1-3 than i ever did in 4-6. But anyway, i almost didnt enter this year because meh…i was bored with it. When i eventually had a lapse in concentration i made the call that ill do my very best to have some fun again. Might even dress up. Maybe i’m complacent😅 i get that its way more of an event if it costs you an arm and leg and annual leave to get here.
  3. Kind of agree with this to a point. Why i wont be starting in my seeded group this year and probably wont care about seeding races either. My most fun ones were in the lower groups and the least pleasant ones were between the wannabe semipro ‘plonkers’😅 back to being silly for me this year. Trying it on a SS bike🤣 also stopping for beer.
  4. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2NWaCOMQ1O/?igsh=M3BmNG5lZzUzYWg5 shreddy… 👌
  5. Lol people still want these goody bags? I take my number out the goody bag and on the way to the car, gift all that useless (to me) stuff to the first person i feel looks they want/need it. I have never used anything from that goody bag. Not even the bottle - cant have uncoordinated colours on my bikes.
  6. @Everyday Cycle Supply Co This is David’s side hussle. I have built 2 x Soma bikes through his help and agree he is always willing to help where he can. But he is also a busy guy on the side, which also includes big bike adventures every now snd then. If he doesnt answer, keep trying. I mean my requests have been missed a few times too😅.
  7. So not that place that cut your brake hoses and attached the new levers to the old callipers?
  8. Know their music well, great album art too.
  9. Who is Baroness? And how does Baroness provide you with the will to ride more if I may ask?
  10. Agree we probably shouldn't go there, its not Friday yet after all( and i also agree that alphabets are weird, but they exist😉) Was just alluding to the fact the Cape Town does have a large part of the population/ workforce who do subscribe to their different alphabets, which each come with their own rules during certain times of the day and also certain months. People just respect their obligations and work around them as best possible. i work mostly with people in the middle east, and we know how they are about their alphabet. You respect it and work around it. Anyway, cheers Bru’s! Keep Being lekker!
  11. Dealt with them 3 weeks ago. Experience was fine. Got what i wanted, when i wanted it. No hassles. No bother at all, and sorry you feel so aggrieved about your midlife situation🤷🏻‍♂️ ☺️
  12. Firstly, we don't know the demographics at CCS. There might be more than a few guys that have religious obligations during that time. Secondly, i also dont answer my phone during lunchtime for anyone or anything work related. Try it, its great! Thirdly, given the state of the rest of SA compared to the WC, call us what you like, you dont know what we do 😅
  13. Hardtails make for harder trails… Good early morning fun.
  14. To be fair, i recall you saying you gooi maize meal in your sealant to help act as a grit….maybe thats part of the issue? Maybe Enduro seal doesnt make for good mieliepap?😅
  15. Looks before function. Always.
  16. I think bitey here means crisp lever feel instead of slightly softer/spongy
  17. Regardless of market conditions….ive always sold things at roughly 50-60% new value. They always sell fast in that bracket. Like already mentioned by others….if im selling it, i had my joy and im selling it to offset the costs of something new i want…not to necessarily make maximum profit or recoup money. its the guys listing stuff for 75% ish of the new price who are in for a rude awakening imo. There will be outliers of course and someone might think your warranty-less ~25% off new discount is a good deal. But not me. You have to consider all these things. there are people on here selling used stuff for more than what you can land it here new using the grey stuff between your ears😅
  18. First world problems…. easy to buy bikes when you’re an XL, XL or XL. but for real though, i buy bikes based on reach mostly, they just happen to be XL. I know i want a 510-520mm reach mtb. A 410-420 road/gravel bike. There are outliers like trek or spez, santa cruz etc who have S6 or XXL bikes, so i still just look at the reach number to know if it will fit right. My hardtail is a ‘small’ XL, as in it has the reach of a big ish large at 490mm for instance…but since thats a messing around bike I kind of like that it is slightly smaller. Im still faster on it at places like banhoek for instance. Its a blast.
  19. Watched a hambini video recently where he has made a prediction that in 2024 the big bike brands might start using proven eastern brands like Ltwoo, winspace etc on oem builds. Their marketshare has grown enough to validate.
  20. https://ride.lezyne.com/products/1-mp-shkdr-v204 best price I can see locally if your are willing to wait for it a few days: https://bike-addict.co.za/products/lezyne-y10-shock-drive-gauge-pump otherwise, they sell for about R900 -1000 at cycle labs and sportmans. Probably worth it if you consider shipping too. If you have discovery, even better. Goes to 400psi and is pretty accurate measured against my digital air pressure guage.
  21. Now imagine being 2m tall and on a XL bike. I have these issues around many of the trails here, literally have to buzz my tire to get under things other people can casually cruise through😅 Edit: Sitting here this morning looking at the proof🤣 This is literally just from catching every single low hanging branch
  22. Why would i waste money and grey hair on stuff like this??😅 have s look here, not sure exactly what you are looking for, but the thingiverse is great if you know someone with a 3d printer or cant work CAD. https://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=Garmin+varia+&page=2
  23. That big one is borderline huck to flat! Cant imagine looking at your angle how slow you have to fall of it. It needs to be further back compared to the lower oneS😅 nice though🤘🤘🤘
