  1. ^also...park at the silo district/radison red in the waterfront...that basement parking area is still 'relatively' unknown by most of the sheeple lol. so it is never an issue finding parking there if you are willing to walk a slight bit further (compared to the other arcades in and around V&A). The stairs/lifts come out right at the Zeitgeist museum entrance basically.
  2. you need to the route info, the elevation info in particular, so you can program your hacked computer so it tells your hidden motor in your down tube when v-tec should kick in.
  3. i wonder if he's actually thought about this lol. guess we'll know by the next one.
  4. yeah like that guy who won the Munga on a gravelbike...what was his name again? The guy he shared the win with must proper suck.... he could only barely stick with him on a DS mtb
  5. but is fine? you got it on that one time only pre-release special remember.
  6. what annoys me more about the route change is that you feckers are now interfering with my saturday morning ride haha. (tiekies-conters-malans-occults and back)
  7. I made peace with it. Fit and all day comfort is more important to me.
  8. #tallpeopleproblems. mine alllook the same...on XL frames too. anyone under 1.9m's feet wont even reach my pedals lol.
  9. this is exactly what I eat every morning . Also home stock dependant...but i usually chuck some dried cranberries or raisons in there instead of fresh berries...or if neither are available...ad a spoon full of peanut butter. i look forward to this every morning...basically the only "pudding" i eat haha.
  10. #SteelbikesR4ever. that being said. Had a cotic hooligan HT for about a year before transplanting most of the things to a new Soma steel frame. My previous bike was about 10y old....sold the parts...still have the frame for a future project. All the bikes before that i broke lol.
  11. id say a bike from 2013 is most likely not going to be as long in the reach department (frame geo) as a bike from 2020....so it might be pre-short stem fad geometry....which in itself means that yes...it will work but it will wander/be more twitchy than a current anthem with a 60mm stem your hands would most likely be close to in the same spot on a 2020 anthem with a 60mm stem than on a 2013 anthem with a 90mm stem imo.
  12. true story... i ride with 5kg's of weight in my frame bags when on rides with my wife (go slow rides) edit: OP...as mentioned....cheapest weight to lose is when you go 'tubeless' under your shirt...and then probably tubeless for your bike....with some lighter tires maybe. light wheels is usually what gives that "light off the line" feel. The rest will be alot more expensive as it involves expensive materials like carbon and or titanium......and yet the gains will not be as big as loosing 5kg's yourself. your dual sus bike is lighter than my steel hardtail btw lol.
  13. lol jip. imean i dont evn have facebook or instagram or twitter. im for all intents and purposes a ghost by todays standards.....and I can leisurely access that facebook page (and i did) by just clicking on that image to see all those alleged defaming images... people just need to read more. EULA's..books, whatever. stop being a sheep imo.
  14. pps: lol... very private indeed.....
  15. need to get one of those carbon QR forks for the wife's bike. hope they will still be around in a month. just need to convince her that replacing a 2.5kg semi seized up sentour xcm coil fork with something with no squish but 2kg less is an upgrade over what she has. she is convinced that she uses her shock even though it is permanently locked out lol....
  16. two things... also, disclaimer: I 'liberated' these images off the google machine and reposted them here without consent from the original owners so I can reinforce my own agenda. PS:wish someone would actually go to court defending the privacy of pictures they knowingly uploaded themselves onto the internet lol. Please try. Social media isn't some laanie residential security estate.....once it's on the interwebs, you could just as well have printed it on a billboard and mounted it next to the n1in peak traffic. its out there.
  17. "why ask for more tax when it will do nothing to improve circumstances revolving around dog ownership and the condition in which they are kept" see what i did there... as a reference to what sparked this whole argument this morning on the radio. The sad part is...pretty sure the SPCA or whoever will do inspections like the SABC do for licences...just rock up and fine you and force you on the spot to get a licence or have your crap confiscated. or they'll make your vet decline service if your animal has no licence. - true story...thats how i took ownership of a tv licence when I was a student.
  18. they already tax you on harvesting energy using PV panels.....from the sun. i thought sunburn was for free? i wont put it past them lol
  19. jnsmith's idea of incentives rather than a full on levy would make better sense as mentioned. you would get licensed...learn to not ride like a chop hopefully....be officially held accountable. other road users too, since they would be forced to acknowledge you as a licensed road user now and not a pedestrian taking up space in the road. as an incentive then....you then qualify for tax subsidies if you can prove that you cycle more than you drive for instance. if you have ever doen business internationally you wil agree that South Africans are someof the most stingy bastards on earth. we dont want to pay for anything....and always want discount on everything. getting tax relief for cycling would mean more people will cycle haha. win win.
  20. valid points and nice addition to the idea. Maybe becoming a licensed and legal road user with a cycling licence becomes away for you to benefit from these "tax subsidies" since that is literally the only way for them to know who rides a bike and who doesn't like in the past (as mentioned by someone else). maybe you'd even have to log rides to prove you are actually contributing. cool ideas.
  21. yes...but i also mentioned that you need "seperate/different" licences if you own a lorry, a motorcycle, a car etc. it changes what you are tested on and how to use the road. as already mentioned....if you get pulled over while on you motorcycle or in your 15 ton lorry....you cant show them your code B licence card.....it is irrelevant in that instance. yes alot of the rules are common....but they differ in operation of said vehicleon roads...do's and don'ts. maybe it will be a start.
  22. you are thinking about it very one dimensionally. thats not the whole argument. free your mind man :lol:COMPLETE RETHINK. They play carmageddon with you because of the system and the way we are taught the rules and how they are applied and enforced. Total redesign of what constitutes a licenced road user basically at k53 level on BOTH sides.
  23. YES. and see the next post. semantics edit: like a whole system/perception/operation/implementation rethink
  24. this is at the core of what i think people were getting at this morning on the radio....and what the topic is trying to explore. an actuall k53 ish licence - new rules that dont even exist yet...to make it safer for everybody using the roads....and secondlt...yes....more infrastructure that can start coming from it. Thats what i mean when i say "semantics" tax, levies licence...whatever. i think thats was what at the core of peoples misplaced frustration this morning.
