  1. Lol, then i probably shouldn’t remind you that it was you that got me to start doing it in the first place😅. Around the time stoke was still in Salt River…with a set of MTX33 rims and silver hope hubs you built for me. The hubs didnt come with the 1.85mm spacer in the box like they should have. so i tried it on your behalf and can confirm it is fine. Still do it till this day, quite a few bikes later🤫😉
  2. Or use the cog spacers from an old 11spd cassette. Sure its 2.1 or something but it makes 0 difference if your OCD can handle 0.2mm spread across 11 gears
  3. Peasant! They need to cost more than the first car you bought…at LEAST. Together your bikes should be able to cover a 50% deposit for a house in an average middle class suburb. 👀
  4. Noob…you should have made your edit a new post all together👀
  5. In the end it’s an online community and you can scoff at forum posters all you want. Active members who interact with each other every other day also build rapport. It all plays a role. It’s not JUST business. Then it would be gumtree.
  6. Years on hub, trader rating, forum post count are all things i take into consideration to put my mind at ease. If you’ve been on here for a few years, have more than 10x 5 star ratings and have an opinion you don't mind sharing…then i’ll gladly trust you in a sans bikehub pay deal. Extra brownie points if i spot reviews from known hubbers. BhP gets expensive at higher numbers…especially if you still have to pay for shipping of bulky items too. If not, bikehub pay, always.
  7. Not at all. And well done for loosing a bunch of weight already. look, thats also why those Rapidé wheels never buckled. A good quality, hand built wheel will always be better. Most alloy rims that come on cookie cutter bikes are only supposed to stay round up to the sidewalk on the way to the car in my opinion lol. It’s not just the spez ones. In many cases I dont even think you can buy aftermarket rims that bad to get built up (maybe Temu)
  8. Ugh, im planning a big purge again too and won’t lie, not looking forward to dealing with these types. But it is what it is.
  9. Also, it might be tempting but don't run your pressures too low in the pursuit of ‘grip’. It took me a ride or three to get used to running slightly harder pressures after also being told too lol, but your tyre pressures shouldn't be the bandaid for shitty suspension setup. I’ve learnt this from some pretty fast guys over the past few months. Guys half my size running 28/30psi and right at the top of the leaderboards down those trails. Most people actually run their tyres too soft for the type of riding they do. Yes casings matter, but you cant run 23psi and smash down rocks at 120kg as an example. Go look at where greg minaar ran his pressures this past weekend, as a 85kg ish rider. It’s an eye opener (26-30psi). im not saying you’ll need to run 40psi, but you cant run the same pressures as 70kg riders and not expect to fold a rim over a rock when it goes wrong. Also, invest in a digital pressure gauge if you don't have one already. Another eye opener. My floor pump is out by 5-7psi lol.
  10. This aged well👀
  11. Did it on a rigid mtb before. Didnt die. Best bike for this will be a short-ish travel hardtail on fast rubber in my opinion. Maybe gooi 34 or 36 chainring for more speed if you care. If i did it again thats what i would do. Purely because that would enable you to smash the downhill sections relatively fast too. But i would also not be too worried about doing it on my gravel bike. Or be a clown and do it on an enduro bike haha. Pass people on the downhill sections at mach4 (and walk the rest😊)
  12. I would think Aramax global shopper would be easiest. They’ll send it to the US adress and it will get forwarded. Biggest hurdle with AMS will be to get s private seller to do some sort of invoice for you.
  13. Couldn’t sleep hey?😅 (happens to me too sometimes😊)
  14. It is! But you’ll notice that the branch is not there anymore. His bike above his head resembles where it used to be though! context @Me rida my bicycle: There used to be a low hanging branch over that bridge which meant people my height had to do a proper squat to get under it. My first ever time going down there at speed, i obviously didn't know about it and it knocked my clean of my bike🤣 Also one of my favs there.
  15. In that case….merlin is so mainstream 👀 i know things….
  16. Reminded me of this:
  17. Carrying your bike would for sure…
  18. Well you now know how fast is too fast into that berm = progression 😅, heal up fast!
  19. Where? How? Hope you were trying something really dumb😅. Only way to progress right?
  20. jebus….don't want to sound too insensitive given recent events….but perhaps everybody should give everyone a wide berth while this bad juju wares off… f@k ouens… Inconsiderate drivers: look in your mirrors before opening a door. Absent minded cyclists: expect every door to open without warning. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  21. Sram is recent. Used to buy all my stuff from them. Touch wood, shimano still good to go on there. Also, stop advertising !!! Need to keep these last gems secret😅
