Was at the Bellville veledrome a few years ago at a event and talking to this old fellow while the racing was happening. As I get up to leave I shake his hand to say goodbye and ask his name and he says Gotty. My ears go up like a Rottweiler being called for dinner. "Sorry what is your last name?" I ask, Hansen he answers. Needless to say I sit my ash staight down and we talk for another hour about his great bikes and memories.I still thought to myself I could sit around a fire and listen to his stories all night. What a fantastic kind man he is and so very humble.
My first bike and what led me to racing was a Hansom 531 with Shimano 600 with Biopace
Agree too much gold however, Cable ends, shifters, front derailer and those delta brakes look awsome
He had quite a beard going there! HeheNot my bike, and it didn't quite take me anywhere. Was playing with my mate Paul's fatbike and the shop on Saturday. Played around with the basic filters on my phone, and this kinda looked 70s-ish.
On Sunday, I took my eldest son up to the nearby barber shop. Having a cutthroat shave has become a kinda mini rite of passage for my boys. I had a coffee from the next door Lebanese place while he was busy...
Not boasting more than being excited to have this on the premises that Christoph Sauser rode, well till it is sold anyway. Lots of races won with this stallion. Amazingly only weighing 9.7kg for a full sus and interesting to note that he used a Dura-Ace front derailer. This bike still makes me drool

Sometimes flyfishing is about more than just catching a trout. This morning, I saw the beautiful red sunrise from my doorstep, the Proteas starting to flower, caught a beautiful, almost copper coloured an brilliantly speckled rainbow with a sunrise on his gills, was bombed by a Giant kingfisher and got soaked by the rain. I sat next to the stream, drank my coffee and ate my sandwitches with the most exquisite gunmetal and blue mountains towering above, and a whiskey coloured stream gurgling past my feet. What more can anyone ask for.
Our Cape stream Trout season is now fast coming to a close. The rivers close for winter (spawning season) at the end of May. With just a week to go, the water levels are still pitifully low, but with temperatures nice and cool, the local addicts are frantically getting their last fix of flyfishing. The next dose will only be available in September. Meanwhile, we will have to resort to stillwater fishing for Trout, or resort to other means to stay sane (mountain biking).
You seem pretty clued up on Trout fishing. Since moving here from jozi and being only 2 hrs drive from Dullstroom, I have not done much still water fishing. Can you let me know where are the best spots for fishing within 2-3 hours drive of Cape Town? Only place I really know of is a place outside Franschoek and that's not much to write home about
Going to have to do better than that finishing 16th of 18 in team competition. "Doing good" is winning stages or races, nobody remembers who was in the break a week later but people remember a stage winner. Midway through May and the boys should be showing good form as they head towards Le Tour. Was hugely impressed with Sagan, he deserved that win
Did I miss the part of the date you are leaving our shores?

I usually spend a couple of months in Europe on holiday and rent a bike to use a few days. I am thinking of taking my bike with me this time as I would like to cycle a bit more. What are the costs on average of taking your bike across to France or Germany?
I finally got my Bititan all put together and I've posted a more detailed report in the retro Bike thread for those who might be interested!
If I make it to heaven, that is the bike I would love to ride through the pearly gates. Wow that is just absolutely AMAZING! Those delta brakes on a Italian icon...Im crying. If I may ask, what did it cost you in the end?

Jennie and Robyn are on a different level than last year, both taking wins over the last few months. The woman's race will be the race to watch. Bulls unless something dramatic happens Tech or Crash will be too far ahead by end of Thursday's stage
