    Zinger XD kit will work, but not sure if you will find it in SA. I am sure a shimano freehub should also work on your hub. I know the Rapide freehubs are interchangable.

    So, decided to find out what this SS thing is all about. Got the frame (great condition !) and some components from BaGearA on the hub. Collected on Monday. Got some great advice from Jewbacca, Ben Graham, and NSBB on gearing. Thanks ! Ordered rear cogs and chain from Rapide on Monday. Got it on Tuesday. Great service again !! Started with 32/18. Short test ride today (Lunch time).Might go 32/16 So I guess time will tell !!

    Thanks for the advise Andrew. Decided to get both. The one you suggested and the Visi one. The one you suggested is perfect. Can see what you mean with regards to the Visi, but this one might be better for rain ? Also ordered both in the same size, but the Visi is slightly bigger than the other one. I guess this will allow for more layers.

    Hi Andrew, I was looking at the men's Pac Me Shell at Wear Direct, but unfortunately nothing in my size. I see the VIZI Pac Me Shell in my size. Are these similar ? Also do not see any arm warmers on the site. Do you have any on there ? Thanks.

    Would it be better, weather wise (rain/mud), to do in December, or wait for May 2021 ?

    65 km was great ! Good mix of dirt roads, jeep track, lots of single track, and rocky single track climb up to water point, and the same rocky, technical decent on the other side. Great fun ! Water points was well stocked, and a good vibe at all of them. Also worth noting that the group we were in were all very friendly and accommodating, which is not always the case when you have a tough technical climb and decent with a lot of people walking. Kudos to everyone who tried to make way when faster people wanted to pass. Suppose the 65km can not be called the fast one anymore.

    Would this be considered in this ( trail ) category ? Top Fuel with downgraded fork ( 120mm travel ), and in low setting. HA around 68,5.

    Switching should not be a problem, since you can even hire a bike per lap if yours are still being repaired ( if needed )

    Anyone doing this event this weekend ? Was wondering if a DS bike will be overkill, considering the description of the terrain. Would a HT be hard on the body after a couple of laps ?

    How far would the camping site / gazebo be from the start / finish line ? Would it make sense to go to your gazebo after each lap, or just stay in the participants area ?

    No mud at all. not a single puddle that could not be avoided. Very nice race. I am sure lesson learnt, and will not be repeated with regards to the last couple of water points. The first one after about 28km's was very well stocked. Enjoyed the event, and that shower/sprayer at the finish was magic in that heat. Will be back.

    I assume this would not be the event to use to ride an XCO race for the first time ? If not, any suggestions where to start of in the Gauteng area ?

    Don't worry, got my answer on the website. Only "problem" is that this is closer to 200km's than 170 km's. Have to keep that in mind when preparing.

    Does the shorter route cover the same route as the longer route, starting from stage 3 onwards ?

    Any idea when these training rides will happen ? Do you have to be entered already to join the rides ? Would like to test the legs before commiting.

    Hi. Some advise needed. First time doing something like this. Would DS bike be the best option ? This was my plan, but now I think the HT might be a better option. Any thoughts ?
