  1. Wanted to comment before as well. Every time I see your bike, I just like it. Probably because I enjoy my SS so much.????
  2. I guess one can say that MVDP worked a little harder in the first 4 stages, resulting in being a little more tired than Poc today.
  3. No worries. Send him a reminder again this morning to add you.
  4. Hi Jaco, Brakpan - Dalpark mtb Club. Rides on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Springs - Springs Wheelers rides on Saturday morning. Send me a DM with your contact details then I can ask the Dalpark group to add you to the whatsapp group. I also ride with them. I will also send your info to one of the Springs Wheelers guys to add you to their group. We join them from time to time, but I am not on their group.
  5. No, working fine. Also on Supersport.
  6. Event postponed, or you just not going ?
  7. Friend of mine is 1,80cm, 87kg and he has a Large, although slightly loose fitting. Large might be very "snug". I would probably consider XL.
  8. Those work well. Couple of people in our group using them.
  9. Depending on what you want out of the race. Going for the win, or to enjoy ? I would go for the more comfortable bike. It is not a difficult event, but the last 40 km's does have some rocky parts in it. Nothing technical. For me, after 120 km in the saddle, I would appreciate the "softer" ride for the last 40 km.
  10. Go to the Voorbaai Truckport (Shell). Speak to Johannes. He is the owner. They have both groups riding almost every morning. Very nice guy, and they have some nice routes in the area.
  11. I enjoy the HT more than the Gravel Bike. I only started logging distance per bike this year, and found I spend close to 50% on my HT, followed by the SS, then DS. Do not have a road bike, and find myself now only using the gravel bike when joining road rides. Come to think of it, that is a waste. #Gravel Bike must go. No interest in a fat bike.
  12. Going there this weekend for final Sani prep. Will ride Sat, Sun & Monday to simulate Sani conditions. Even staying on site for the weekend.
  13. https://www.evobikes.co.za/product/hope-ec49-1-5-lower-assembly/ Fit this and you can use any taper fork you want. It does, however become a costly exercise (steerer assy ; new fork ; possibly hub change), so you will need to decide if it makes financial sense to do, but it can be done. I really liked my revel, so I did it. Still have it today, but now using as a monster cross/gravel grinder.
  14. With my ADD, I got lost a couple of times reading that, but I think I agree with you.
  15. Used Bike Hub Pay for the first time on Friday. Man, did it work well. Best R49 spend (by the seller). Bought on Friday, received today, seller paid today. Deal done. Think this will be the way to go for me going forward.
  16. Following this with interest. I am in the same situation. Planning some Thaba trails sessions, as well as some time spend at Buffelsdrift.
  17. I have everything accept that beautiful steel frame :-) SS parts, chains, chainrings, seats, stems, bars, wheelsets etc.... Very good product and excellent service !
  18. Done ! Completed today. ????
  19. Had 3 cars hooting(warning) at me this morning. On all 3 I was in the wrong (venturing a little to far into the lane. MTB habbit). Everytime a polite apology from my side resulted in a polite wave back. My point ? If you make a mistake, own it ! Cyclist or motorist. Should defuse most situations. If not, well you end up on facebook.
  20. You also need to consider chainstay length. 114 will work with your ratios if the chainstay length is around 460mm.
