  1. What about insurance. A R200k bike will probably cost well over R1k pm to insure. And I would guess most owners won't risk not having it insured.
  2. Ex works factory cost is usually around 10% of retail price, depending on what margins they run.
  3. Also entered for the hell of it. My rear shock isn't working so well, so hope to at least finish 2nd form last place seeing as there are so many gunning for last position.
  4. Or is it just an excuse to avoid a patented design? I'm sure proper kinematic modelling would yield the same results in a standard 4 bar design, no? And reading through their design explanation still doesn't answer what exactly the extra linkages improves/makes better. Also, referencing F1 strut suspension, or rather a double wishbone - push rod design, the extra linkage is still just act as an extension of the seat stays (which acts as the push rod) in a 4 bar design. I'm not sold on this, although actual testing might prove otherwise.
  5. I have recently went through the same exercise and also looked at the Kona on Dial'd. Seems like a great deal. "Settled" on a 2015 spez enduro 29er which I got at a "bargain". 160mm of travel is possibly more than I'd ever need riding around Paarl-area, but the geometry is less low & slack, and pedaling this monster uphill is actually comfortable. So it's a bit closer to a trail bike, rather than an #enduro downhill racer, and a capable do-it-all one bike.
  6. Haha, hipsters indeed. Everything carbon fiber is handmade. Bloody pretentious calling it "hangemaak" - probably thinking people will pay a premium for the marketing.
  7. Also got only 600 points for a 3+ hour ride, and 2+ hours rides, recorded with strava. How does one query it with Vitality, hopefully not by phoning them?
