  1. Yass, sounds lekker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. So rear tyre options. Maxxis minion SS or Aggressor? Currently running Ardent Race 2.35 which served me well for the summer months, but want more grip for winter, but fast rolling still - DHF2s were awesome, but just too sluggish.
  4. Are these trails straight forward i.t.o. route markings etc? Haven't done Hoogies yet, but keen to check it out before the event.
  5. Yup, I've had some hit and lots of miss experiences with Tork Craft. Hole saws, hole cutter, Pilot drill bit set, Screw extractors, and a few other things all failed. Recently bought a few F-clamps that, so far, is holding up. I can't justify Besseys. I tend to avoid TC as far as possible, but it's becoming the only available brand in most hardware stores. In fact, most tools sold locally are junk, inlcuding Stanley, Eurotool, Grip, Groz etc etc. It's like choosing between having herpes or syphilis.
  6. Oregon/Douglas Fir goes for around R25k per cube. Machining costs another ~R3k per cube.
  7. Putting a decent blade on a cheap saw is not the equivalent of pimping a corsa with 17" mags. There are actual benefits.
  8. Get a decent blade, yes. Thinner kerf if your saw is under-powered. But also pay attention to technique when feeding the wood. Rip cuts, a ~30t blade will also help, over a 48 t combination blade.
  9. +1. Impact drivers FTW.
  10. I don't specifically have any experience with nail guns, but it's somewhere on my shopping list for tools. Although it's convenient, I don't think it's the correct tool to install cupboards. Perhaps on the carcass and unseen bits. Joining exterior panels with dowels, or dominoes (Festool) if you're lucky enough, is still the "more" correct way.
  11. Spez rims are soft. Even I manage to ding them. Front wheel even went all wonky after cornering coming out off a lil 1 ft drop.
  12. +1. Steyn is a liability. He should not be anywhere near the match day selection shortlist. He can go play IPL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Had a dachshund once - worst dog breed after pugs. His jagsheid literally cost him his life.
  14. No worries, go ahead. The oak at Toolcraft was a bit confused with my purchase. My response was I'm not paying R500 for a wooden block when I can make it. It's after all wood working.
  15. Yeah. I'm the same age and feel a bit guilty when I look at her. But mein gott, she's cute. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So after finally being done with the restoration of an old disc belt sander, I quickly finished this R35 bevel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Sounds a bit like my dad - always flattens table tops with his belt sander. I prefer a no.6 and 7 hand plane. Then my Triton geared eccentric sander for final stock removal - leaves zero cross grain sanding marks.
  18. If I had the space, it'd be that, or the Bosch glide which takes up slightly less space. But like plasma TVs and most things in life, I'll always go bigger when it comes to cutting capacity. My table saw will have to do for now - and changing between crosscut sleds is not such a big schlep.
  19. It looks like the AEG mitre saw is the same unit as the Ridgid which is sold in the US.
  20. Planning a leg vise. But will probably source some of the hardware from Toolcraft. And maybe an end vise as well if I can keep the costs down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. RS only have stamped metal ones. Thanks, will give toolquip a shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks, I've actually considered those on diaphragm valves.
  23. True, but they usually come at premium over the corded stuff.
