  1. Nice, but looks more suited for bmx and dj. That suede looking uppers will not be good for wet riding.
  2. Weber has its advantages. But if I make a fire it's in a built-in braai (a la jet master) only, with the only exception when I go camping. It's 2017, there's no need to stink like smoke just to cook some meat. When I grow up, I'm upgrading my gas braai to on of these Weber summit grills. http://bbqtver.ru/spree/products/294/original/e-670_3.jpg?1407767149
  3. I was thinking of this Triton table saw module, and build it into a cabinet. Laser cut some 5+ mm sheet metal, and make your own fence. But it can't take dado blades.
  4. Indeed it is an investment...especially since I am planning on doing something semi-commercial in a few years (10-20) from now.
  5. R80k is unfortunately a lot for a diy enthusiast. I was actually looking at the sawstop contractors saw at half the price, which is still pretty expensive.
  6. On the topic of tool quality. What is the opinion of Martlet power tools? I can hardly find any info online. From what I gather it's of Chinese origin and simply branded differently in different markets? I looked at their table saw, it looked rather sturdy with a decent fence. Anyone know of these things?
  7. Own some Makita tools. 9401 belt sander and 3612C Router, a jig saw and some orbital sanders. These have served well, with a few breakages here and there. But looking at their new stuff, and reading up on it, I wasn't convinced on their mitre saws. It also seem like the stuff that makro stock is getting most of the negative reviews, but it could also be bias.
  8. I have my reservation on Makita tools of late. It seems that a lot of their stuff is becoming cheap quality.
  9. Agreed. That is the problem. Too many people still believe that all meat needs to be cooked well-done, that includes fish. I'll never take pork to anyone's braai as everyone still believes you'll get sick if it's not drier than a desert.
  10. One thing I've learned over the years is that a South African braai is basically a very elaborate method to *** braaivleis op. Americans are a lot of times considered stupid, but when it comes to cooking meat, I have to agree with their methods. No, I'm not referring to their bbq'ing a patty. Their spareribs, beef brisket and smoked chopped/pulled pork belly/shoulder are to die for. Compare that to a lamb chop that has been turned in charcoal, I'll gladly surrender my man card. Life's too short to eat *** food.
  11. Nudge nudge wink wink. Xmas in July. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Ahh, 150mm makes sense. I'm also considering a similar move, slammed riser stem and 20 mm rise bars. Stack height on my enduro 29 becomes an issue when you're a shortsh*t.
  13. Looking at your saddle height, I was going to ask why you'd need that much rise in front - can't be the best climbing experience.
  14. Coming from a furry, he should know better that his opinion is invalid.
  15. I honestly want this espresso machine more than a Santa cruz.
  16. No idea. But it looks good and if it works ok, I would not be too concerned about repairs at R2k. If it lasts you 6 months you're out of luck, but if it lasts another 2 years then you got a good deal. In any case, repairs will most like be more than what it cost you. 17. Whenever I see these new downduro bike releases I just wonder where these trails are that will justify them. Then I read comments on international forums, and the sentiment is the same, either people don't have those sort of trials around them that warrants such a bike, or their trails are being dumbed down.
  18. +patience. The fun part of building anything is usually where you can see things take shape, but motivation can easily wane when it gets to the finishing which can take even longer than the whole build process.
  19. Probably crapped his pant when he heard the price of what just a blank stock piece of walnut goes for.
  20. For a moment you had me there, phew. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. If there's a 2014 nomad size L in aqua in stock, I'll take off your hands, please and thank you! [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. High tower for sure if I didn't already have an enduro. It would be a difficult choice between the tallboy or 5010 for me.
  23. Seriously wouldn't mind swapping this bike for my enduro 29er. A tranny scout would also be a welcome addition.
  24. Ardent race unfortunately only come in 120 tpi exo casings, not DDs. Picking mine up tomorrow, will be running similar combo - DHF 2.5 WT EXO on front and Ardent race 2.35 at the rear. Should make longer ride more bearable again.
  25. It says standard build. There is a "S" build ( = standard build) option on all models, in the R76k region. You won't be getting a R120k bike.
