  1. I had my setup done on Monday with Aaran and Richard they are in Northcliff well worth the drive you wont be dissappointed http://www.cyclefit.co.za/
  2. Sorry only got this blackberry one I took earlier when I weighed it but it will do as proof will take a nicer pic with a decent camera on weekend
  3. Got the Scott it was just such a good deal and bang for the buck no one could touch it. With pedals weighs 7.535 kgs and had a quick spin and goes like a rocket Will do a nice long ride on Saturday then should have a better impression of the bike. Never had anything to compare it to but the Ultegra really shifts and feels nice
  4. Got a great deal on the 12's locally they are perfect
  5. If you want X kings and race kings Brett Sachs at bike bay has some amazing prices and specials at the moment http://bikebay.co.za/index.php?cPath=37_38 Also 29er rocket rons for about 230 rand each
  6. Hi CRC have the 16's on sale I am just a bit worried they may be too "tight" Can anyone who uses them give me a bit of info on how they found them will I be fine or should I pay 300 rand more for the 12s Thanks
  7. Thanks so much guys for all the great input
  8. It has a Kehin Carb the float is prob full of fuel and the carb is flooding this was common on that carburettor. The choke could also be stuck on slightly but you would have a high idle as well. Torn base gasket will cause idling problems and intermittent stalling. You could also have a fuel leak as stated above but I am assuming you have checked for dripping fuel. You want a free second opinion pop it into Hatfield VW in Bryanston and I will get one of my techs to check it out
  9. Hi Guys I have entered 94.7 with the original intention of doing it on my MTB. That has changed as I decided I would like to try out a road bike do a bit of road riding enter a few seeding races and have an attempt to ride a respectable time . I will still prob ride more MTB during week and ride the Road bike on weekends. Dont want to break the bank so was looking to spend between 15 to 20 on a bike and I would rather get a new bike . I seem to have narrowed it down to either getting a BH Prisma or a Scott CR1 pro They both have full Ultegra and similar specced cockpits but the scott does have Kyrsium Elites where as the Prisma has Akiums (excuse my spelling) I think the Scott is prob bit lighter as well The scott is also over 2k cheaper than the BH. Any advice because at this stage I am leaning towards the Scott but I would welcome any advice Thanks Guys and Gals
  10. Was a nice morning ride bit of wind in places well marked route very flat as expected but I enjoyed it.
  11. Yes I know JB did my wheels and showed me what a mission they are to tension but at least you get a nice weight saving for your initial trouble. and if you are paying someone else to build them for you its actually painless
  12. If you use the DT Revo's you will save about 80g on the weight of your build compared to the normal DT comp spokes so you will be to afford to use brass nipples instead of aluminium
  13. I am about 76 kg very happy with the Crest's should be right for you. Build them up with DT revo spokes and your choice of hub will give you a nice set of wheels
  14. What's the moral of the story? Don't be afraid to bleed your brakes.... and dont pump the lever with no pads in
  15. I have not seen anyone there yet on a SS how did it go ? Its a great place and only a 15km ride from my house so its perfect
  16. Frame is plus minus 22K I think Phone Mikes Bikes they are the agents they do beautifull builds as well
  17. Yes looks different but dont know what size frame that is but it takes a tapered headset now which is new
  18. Here is a clearer picture
  19. I got one last year looks like they made a few tweaks judging by that pic. My frame with headset and rear shock weighed 2.14kg if I remember correctly. I have crashed mine harder than any of my aluminium bikes and its still fine I like it and think its a good bike Here is mine
  20. It was anounced last night a Pieter or Pieterse from Pretoria was the winner can't remember exact name
  21. The 13th is my wifes birthday...oh well it is her birthday the whole day.. see you guys there
  22. Not at all I have done this race the last 2 years both times it was well organised and well marked. Its a flat and fast route last year the quarry added a bit of a variation but even the year befor it was good fun. There is not a big field and no congestion so if you want to go have fun crank the big ring for 2 hours this is the race to do
  23. Well Done !!
  24. Shimano SA had stock of the XTR (180) ice tech rotors when nobody else including CRC had any. Bought them via Complete cyclist as I wanted to get my new wheels ready.
  25. If it is I hope its not like last year 2 years ago it was great last year it was very poor
