  1. Tape and valve I have accepted that those tyres are just not going to fit on the the Crest which is a pity as I wanted to compare them to the Cobra's.
  2. I have finally given up My tyres were pretty stuffed after Route 69 so though I would toss them and fit the set of Ralphs I had. The only way I think these things will mount is with a crowbar I just can't get them to fit They are the 2.1 UST's anyone managed to get these onto Crest rims and if so how ? I had Hutchinson Cobras Tubeless Lights on before and they mounted ok. Just went and bought a set of Conti 2.2 Ust Race/mount combo and they fit bit harder to mount than the Hutchinsons.. but the Ralphs dont even come close
  3. Day one was not to bad some pretty tough technical single track in sections made you work not an easy route Today I found hard as I had pretty sore legs from day 1 (and body from an excersion over the bars) and there was quite a bit of climbing nice route though both days had lots of single track granny gear saw quite a bit of action today. Riding has cleared all the crap off my chest so hope I have ridden myself right but hope to have good legs for tom although I doubt that will be so This has been a nice event we had nice chips and burgers etc waiting for us today at finish and some of the views and scenery have been very good Only about 60km tom with the last 8 or 10 kms on tar through the cradle so should be the easiest day...I hope I am in for next Sunday Mel will confirm in the week
  4. Yes Guy I cant seem to shake this crap going to take it easy tom and see how I feel.

  9. So far my experience with CRC back up is as follows Once a caliper bracket was packaged wrong by Shimano. a correct one was dispatched free of charge the following day The rim tape was stolen out of my parcel CRC credited my bank account with the cost of the tape 3 days after I notified them In my most recent order a spacer is missing from the Sidi dragon toe caps a new set of caps are on there way to me also free of charge. Bottom line I have ordered alot of stuff there have only been 3 issue's and they have been sorted out instantly my experience of their backup is excellent

    CRC

I just recieved a CRC order where they put my workstand in one box and all my other stuff in a seperate box from the same order. At post office they put the total order value to each box and so double vat. I didn't pay or take the parcels but explained what was wrong and they sent it back for re evaluation. Took a week but then I just paid the one correct vat amount and 25 rand handling fee for the other box
  11. Riding from GYM @ 16-45 today if anyone is keen to ride see you there
  12. Finally got my stand quite impressed with it and now I can weigh stuff
  13. Got the stand today fitted the scale which was only accessory I bought bike weighs 11.28 kgs which backed up my guess of around 11.2 with the Crests Cost was about R2400 with the scale Very impressed with the build quality of the stand much stronger and more stable than I anticipated Comes in a nice carry bag and takes maybe 30 seconds to set up very user friendly
  14. My polar is about 8 years old and on its third battery. Small little shop in the mall in Ranburg has changed it both times first time was about 35 rand and think I paid 50 last year.
  15. I wanted to but feeling bit under weather hence bit of rest to see how I feel for Sunday I did SMS Dave a couple hours ago to say wont make it. Pity as I would really liked to of done it
  16. Weather and Health (hope I am not getting flu) permitting anyone interested in riding from the Gym this Sunday leave around 6 or 6-30 would like to get at least 4 hour ride in. Probably ride out towards Teak but I am open to routes / trails
  17. Only on the hub
  18. I have run a 160 and a 180 and a 203 on the front at different times the stopping power is the same the pressure needed to stop is the same I dont notice any difference. The big difference is the bigger you go the cooler the brakes run so they take much longer to fade only really becomes an issue on long descents or when having to constantly brake hard.(Dangles post is good example) Pad life and disc life/wear is also suppossed to be better with the bigger disc's but I dont have personal experience to confirm this due to too much chopping and changing.
  19. Good spot on the direction, they are the Hutchinson Cobra tubeless lights. It is opposite to rear but thats the direction they recommend to run it when used on the front . They roll fast but front grip is ..well lets just say its exciting to ride
  20. Fast One colour scheme "touch of marsh" with matching chainrings
  21. You could also speak to Mike at Mikes Bikes I saw some of the forks he had done looks just like factory finish.
  22. I weigh 77 and run 200 psi in mine for just on 20% sag. Go with 200 as a start and adjust according to your sag. Quite a nice shock I am pretty impressed with mine
  23. I enjoyed the race was a better route than last year Went wrong on first lap ended up with race dist of 65.37 on the garmin what was the actual race distance?
  24. So glad this post stuck in my mind Went to collect my CRC order now from post office the bike stand was in one box and my other stuff in a seperate box first time my order has come as 2 seperate parcels but I suppose due to size and weight of stand it was practical. Problem came when they asked me to pay vat 1100 rand the total order was about 3300 rand I said no ways cant be right they charged me vat on 3300 rand for each parcel so it was doubled. I was tempted to just pay as I hate waiting and now to have the stuff and have to give it back is even worse. But PO guy said he would send it back for reassesment which will take about 5 days so now I wait this is not rocket science if the guy looking at manifest had half a brain he should of seen it was 1 order split into 2 boxes Also both boxes were re sealed with sars tape thats 5 orders in a row of mine that have been opened hope they didn't steal anything like last time
