  1. As of this morning everything is underwater and it is pouring hopefully rain will stop so the trails can dry a bit some of the trails were flowing rivers on my way to work
  2. I have a few different routes hardly any tar road lots of track next to road and embankments etc plus some dirt road did a little route today of about 32kms with less than a km of tar I also hate being on the road but you can do nearly the wholde length of Hendrik Potgieter off road then go down towards drift inn past the quarry up the hill to the right then single track all way down beyers past garden centre then down to stadium and back across to little falls area quite a bit next to road but all on dirt and single track Not technical at all just a nice route to give the legs a spin out. Lets say meet at 16-30 at the virgin active in strubens if that suits you if not I am flexible and will ride to where you want to meet plan on about 2 hours for the ride
  3. leaving for home now yes want to ride tom afternoon as well if possible I am flexible on times meeting places etc

  6. 8 bar is only about 115 psi My fox is happy at around 145 to 150 psi and I weigh about 77kg. As Mampara says pump it up thats way to soft you prob got about 80% sag with that pressure 11 bar or 160 psi prob good starting point
  7. Saw one just now at complete cyclist really a nice frameset love the clean lines with the internal cable routing
  8. Covie I have a set of XT's with 2.2 raceking and 2.2 mountain king XT casette and XTR rotors 180 front and 160 rear they are sitting in the garage but dont have a scale I want to see what they weigh compared to my Crests and Hutchinson Cobra's so when I get a chance will take all 4 and weigh them and post results but prob wont be for a few days
  9. What make and model bar and bar ends are you using?
  10. Was the BB still tight in the threads or was there a possibility that the BB was unscrewing itself which put too much load onto the frame/insert causing the break. I am trying to look for a reason don't know if its poss but if the BB unscrewed it would of put more leverage on to the frame/insert could this of been the wobble you felt at first When you removed crank was BB still tight into the insert? Either way I would certainly send Spez the pictures and maybe get the info from The_Break to contact them. Hope you come right let us know what Spez say
  11. She knows its about 10 grand

  15. Where abouts are you I work in Bryanston and stay in Little falls if you are anytwhere near bring the bike lets clean it all up apply grease and torque it and see whats up.
  16. Did my first day/night race yesterday from 15-00 to 20-00. Used a 818 on bars and 808 on helmet. Light's were awesome lit up the track for miles head light great for cornering lines and technical twisty bit brilliant combo. I think a lot of people knocknig them either dont have or have never used them or maybe had their lights out performed by these. During and after the race yesterday had a few guys asking about the lights and plenty comments whilst on the route at how bright they were.
  17. Did the guide dog 5 hour at avianto first experience of night riding ...great fun
  18. I have some you are welcome to use if you in JHB
  19. You maybe under torqued it as with a smear of grease and correct torque it wouldn't slip. The rain would not wash it away.
  20. The one on the right looks like an olympic valve which is made for use in ZTR rims with the yellow tape the middle is also looking almost the same these are ZTR specific. If you are using normal rims with the yellow tape I would use the one on the left. Dont know if you have used the tape before but when you do pull that stuff so hard that you arms ache you want it so so tight on the rim to avoid leaks at the valve. On the ZTR site there is a nice video on the tape worth a watch before you apply the tape and remember pull it tight!!! http://www.notubes.com/support_movies.php
  21. Rode the Guide Dog 5 hour at Avianto yesterday so was first outing with The Magishines. I ran a 818 on the bars and a 808 on the helmet. They were brilliant other riders couldn't believe the amount of light I was putting out, I must say I never knew racing at night could be so much fun.
  22. Brass should be the answer but maybe get JB at yellow sadddle to check out if there is not some other reason why they are breaking as they should last a couple of years before they start to break.
