  1. I fitted new chain lovely and smooth now although I did inherit a new problem of chain jumping gears at certain times. This was due to the chain link being stiff where the link pin joins dont know why pushed it in perfect ? fitted another link pin and all nice now. What a pain in the arse been stuffing around with this bike since I got home the idea was get home deflate tyres chuck in some stans reinflate fit to bike and ride. wasted a hour with the old chain then fitted the new one then had the skipping shift at times which I traced to the stiff link fitted new link re set gears after messing them up whilst trying to stop the skip shift ended up fitting my lights to test the bike in the pitch black seems pretty good though will give it a good test tom morning Bikes p#ss me off sometimes Happy that the wheels drop straight in without disc's rubbing etc so looks like I will be to swop wheels without any fiddling around.
  2. I finished my new wheels complete with new cassette. Is it normal for the chain / drivetrain to feel rough / notchy at first with original chain It has already got better with 30 mins of riding around the block so feels like chain has to bed into new cluster? If I slip in old rear wheel drive train is super smooth but with new wheel it feels like bike does when chain needs lubing. Will this bed in with a decent ride? Its first time I have ever run a new cassette on original chain. Hubs bearings etc are all super smooth on the new wheelset gearchange is perfect so I can only think its cassette on chain. The chain is still good less than 3 months old and was fine when measured about 4 weeks ago. Any thoughts I have a couple brand new chains but dont want to replace chain if this is normal?
  3. Do all Zesty's come with that option??
  4. It weighed 11.9 with the 800 gram plus WTB Weirwolfs so prob 11.7 with the conti's hope to drop to around 11.3 with the Crest's and Hutchinson combo.
  5. About 1440 with rim tape and valves
  6. Saw Mikes New Carbon Nomad after it was just built the pictures dont do it justice Beautifull bike. JB has built me a set of lighter wheels for this bike which I collected on Tuesday ZTR Crests XTR race hubs and DT rev Spokes Only got the Olympic valves today so just installed them and a set of Hutchinson Cobra Tubeless lights cannot believe how much lighter this set up is. Collecting the disc's tom so Wheels should be good to go tom night will take a pic with the new Wheelset fitted. Dont know if the will look as good as the XT's but huge weight saving on whole set up
  7. Bear in mind Americans need 20 disclaimers and instructions etc for a toothbrush What hope is there for them to correctly use a battery or charge it I have had Nokia ,Ericson and Motorola batteries fail some withing 6 months only one of which was covered by warranty. If my batteries give problems then I will source new ones but untill they do I wont be losing any sleep. I accept what I paid for at this stage they work great I dont do a lot of night riding so the expense was right for me to go with Magi shines
  8. SARS stole my role 3 weeks back (out of my CRC box) dont know what they are going to do with it
  9. Yes really was a good day
  10. Cricket stump at an angle into the hollow of the crank then the crank arm hides it If you look closely where the crank arm meets the chainring you can see the bottom of the stump in the ground right below the XT logo
  11. Gave the Blur some TLC today and she even got a new set of tyres

  15. STUNNING saw this bike for real a few weeks back its just perfect
  16. GT Racing has white Scwalbes on his Giant looks real nice but not sure where he got them from
  17. I order often no problems I dont order shoes or clothes so its very simple Dont be scared of duties tax etc its quite simple if you are ordering parts There is no duty Set your settings to united kingdom and south african rands and english on their site Then when you shop you see what you are going to end up paying give or take a tiny variance for exchange rate. When you order you will get it tax free and when it arrives you pay the tax which cancels each other out plus maybe 20 bucks fee to the post office its really pretty simple Plus if you can order over about 2700 rand at a time you get free postage as well I often get stuff for friends so we benefit from the free postage
  18. They are great bikes had 2 on loan from my cousins whilst in the UK earlier this year one carbon and one alloy they were both great. The carbon bike was quite alot lighter but I liked the Fox on the alloy one
  19. I also have a set of wheels being built ZTR Crest rims I am going to run them on Racing Ralf UST's front and rear and see how they go.
  20. I thought I was a special customer when I got my loyalty mail
  21. The WTB Weirwolf's are very strong
  22. have you weighed them to see exactly what they weigh
  23. I upgraded from XT to XTR a while back The shifting is a bit crisper but hardly noticable could be more from new cables. The XTR's win in the look's department No indicators on the XTR's like there was on my XT's You can do a 2 gear downshift with one push of the lever on XTR and XT only does one downshift quite nice feature. XT does give you great bang for your money but I am very happy with the XTR's Dont know the weights but I am pretty sure XTR will be lighter
  24. I was thinking of using a set of these for the 94.7 you can still say you rode it on a MTB tyre http://www.schwalbe.com/gbl/en/produkte/mtb/produkt/?ID_Einsatzbereich=5&ID_Produktgruppe=44&ID_Produkt=247&ID_Artikel=649&info=1
