  1. I have a Silverback Sola, which for all intents and purposes is similar to a Big Nine. I've put a 120mm Reba on to my bike, and I really enjoy it. However, I don't think it's the additional travel that I've come to appreciate, but rather the additional stiffness (coming from a Recon). The bike just feels more planted and has less tendency to wallow. Honestly, maybe I'm not that adept to riding bikes and picking up these nuanced changes, but it wasn't a HUGE difference, and I can't say that I felt the changes in geometry (they are so minor), but the fact that the front end was more planted, gave me a whole bunch more confidence to push harder. I'm sure I would have had a similar experience with a better quality 100mm fork to be honest. Ride bike, have fun. That's my motto.

Pretty sure that all those other than Rins have been told "to retire" by someone on the internet at some point. Why should Rins retire, exactly?
  3. Okay so she has a Spez Lithia, an Oura and a Rival all in 155mm. So I'd give a 155 a shot if I were you.
  4. Pop into a Spaz store and have her sit on an assometer. It's worth the 15 minutes of a sales talk to be honest. We've found that Spez saddles work really well for the lady, and she's got 3 different ones (cut-out style) that I've been able to pick up second hand over time across her bikes. I'll check the width when I get home. She's quite petite, so I'm not sure if she's on 143 or 155. It might be a case that your lady is actually sitting 'off' the side of the saddle at an angle, which is what's causing her pain.
  5. Also, is it the sit bone that's hurting, or the glute? How long has she been riding? Can it maybe just be that she still needs to become "hardegat"?
  6. Honestly, ladies are so finicky when it comes to saddles. I went through about 5 before my fiancee was happy. Does she have the correct saddle width?
  7. I think everyone is getting a free pair as it's a pretty generic code you need to plug into your cart.
  8. I'm running 40C (closer to 45C) FARR DOT gravel tires on my gravel bike, and 32mm Gatorskins when I put it in road trim. I wouldn't go larger than 32mm to be honest, and I'm only running them at 4 bar which makes for a pretty plush ride (but boggerall grip on the dirty stuff I found out last week).

Marquez, Rins and Crutchlow all passed their fitness tests and will be allowed to ride tomorrow. Not sure how I feel about this to be honest.
  10. Unfortunately not, just saw it on Facebook.

Fractured humerus (upper arm). That's 2020 done for him I think. There's 5 races in the first 6 weeks of this condensed 13-round season. Edit: He did however win the championship by 151 points last year, which is near as makes no difference exactly 6 races. But that would be a miracle.
  12. Well I guess that this answers my question...

It was damn well worth the wait! (no spoilers, but damn!)
  14. Thanks, that was my feeling as well unfortunately. Appreciate the feedback!
  15. Hey RR, any idea how things are at Klapperkop at the moment? I drove past there on the R21 and saw that the gates were open again, but also didn't notice the booms or security.

"Valentino Rossi says reports that he has already officially signed for Petronas Yamaha are 'not true. It's fake' - but confirms a 2021 MotoGP deal is now '99%' done." This whole thing is such a debacle. Italian news reported that the deal is done, and when the Petronas boss finished his Saturday morning bike ride, his phone had blown up about this and he was like, what, I don't know anything about this. So bizarre. Nevertheless, there were bikes on track yesterday, and the fast guys are still fast. Ducati seems to be in trouble, but we won't know anything until Sunday at 14h00. Once the green flag drops, the production of bovine manure stops. I am so damn excited it is unreal.
  17. Ghetto and I love it, well done!
  18. Fixed it for ya
  19. She's still around, albeit clad in 32mm Gatorskins at the moment
  20. Into the wind!
  21. Lever pulling to the bar would indicate air in the system for sure.
  22. What tyres does the bike currently have on? Have they been converted to tubeless?
  23. Sure, I don't think anyone is arguing with you there, but personally, the cost is not worth it for the bike and its intended use. Perhaps it is for the OP, in which case he should definitely do it, but I would spend my money elsewhere in this instance first. No, you will actually lose potential speed. Since the current crank has a 42T blade, and the SLX has a 36T large blade, you will have a shorter total gear ratio available. That is whether your wife actually uses the current gears to their maximum range.
  24. Fair enough, the Octalink with a BB is around 944g, and a Hollowtech BB is around 70-80g, which puts the SLX at near as makes no difference 800g. R1700+ the cost of a bottom bracket for 150g of savings is not worth it in my book, not in that area at least.
