  1. Mine usually comes in between the 6th and the 10th of the month, so it should be due soon.
  2. Anybody else hit with some erroneous interest charges on their Discovery Bank Credit cards? For some reason they under collected about R240 by debit order on 25 April for my March closing balance, and I got charged R100.something in interest retroactively at the end of March, and now another R110.something at the end of April. WTF? (already queried it with them, but just curious to see if anyone else has the same issue)
  3. Okay I'm glad there's another fan at least. I didn't want to open my mouth too soon. I really enjoy it. It's complicated, it doesn't make sense most of the time, but I love it.
  4. Oh, you're in for a GREAT time.
  5. SAA not totally dead in the water, yet
  6. Both of these are older, but I thoroughly enjoyed them Ooooh, and this one, might be worth a re-watch!
  7. Yeah, so lockdown has me planning some [long term] future projects based on stuff I've seen online, these three are at the top of the list currently:
  8. What are you talking about, he had plenty of fans along the way
  9. As a follow-up to this, my primary funds with Allan Gray have pretty much recovered and are even showing a positive 1-Year return at this stage: My Tax Free investments are not quite there yet, but they are super conservative funds: My pension and preservation funds at Discovery are still down 6% on the contributed amounts, so they still have some ways to go.
  10. Beast
  11. Enjoyed the first episode, off to a good start!
  12. And so it begins ends
  13. Strava hasn't been supported for a long time. Best would be to push the HRM directly to S-Health, but you can give it a try via the Wahoo app to see if it works. I don't want to say it definitely works directly with S-Health, but before The Girl got a Garmin watch we used to record with her Wahoo strap to S-Health and it worked fine.
  14. I'm nervous... Also, Killing Eve is back!!!
  15. I had the total wrong impression of dropped, whew! Edit: Also, I was thinking of Mindhunter, ignore me...
  16. Bear in mind that it also runs on tablets and phones, and cheap laptops, not super swanky gaming PC's.
  17. Goodness those SAA 747's are pretty.
  18. Stumptown has been a good watch, we've enjoyed it. Thanks for the recommendation Cap!
  19. Yeah at the moment you just have to ride out the storm. I trust that the fund managers know more than I do, and a 7.5% drop in the current situation is actually not too bad. When you're looking at companies like Atterbury (ATT) having lost 40% in the last month, Redefine (RDF) down 60%, things aren't too bad for me personally at this stage.
  20. My personal investments (all with Allan Gray through various funds) are down about 7.5% since the beginning of the month, which doesn't seem too bad, but it's a lot of actual value gone almost overnight. My pension and preservation funds at Discovery however are down about 20% on the contributed amounts. Which is scary.
  21. How are you going to install the temperature sensor into the geyser? TH16 is rated for 3.3kW I believe, but it will fail over time. These mechanical relays don't like switching on and off all the time, especially at such high loads.
  22. This bit came through from Allan Gray a couple of days ago:
  23. Yeah, this was my reasoning behind getting one. I stay in the east of Pretoria, and within a couple of minutes you've got dirt roads for days. I constantly see people rolling around on R100K S-Works to go have a coffee at Rosemary hill, and I just wonder, what's the point. Fair play to them, they can ride what they want, but the gravel bike is just faster across dirt roads, and tar, than an MTB would be, and that's why I enjoy mine. And I've done a rocky 10km/800m climb to the top of the communications towers near Sabie and it was totally capable. It was a bit hairy on the descent at times, I'll admit.
  24. In before all the Argus posts. Nearly 5 months ago I broke my hip and elbow. It's been 163 days since I rode a bicycle outside. Today was a good damn day.
