  1. So why don't you just adjust all your platforms to 265?
  2. Anybody else hit with some erroneous interest charges on their Discovery Bank Credit cards? For some reason they under collected about R240 by debit order on 25 April for my March closing balance, and I got charged R100.something in interest retroactively at the end of March, and now another R110.something at the end of April. WTF? (already queried it with them, but just curious to see if anyone else has the same issue)
  3. Haha this is hilarious, everyone here to post the exact same thing. a) Never seen this many people out exercising, b) no-one giving a rat's arse about wearing masks, c) all the groups, all the time. That's why the Government is treating us like children. Do we live in the same neighbourhood?
  4. Not so much welcome, he's been here for more than 3 years.
  5. Expropriation without compensation done right
  6. Okay I'm glad there's another fan at least. I didn't want to open my mouth too soon. I really enjoy it. It's complicated, it doesn't make sense most of the time, but I love it.
  7. At least we don't need to be concerned about ill-guided snot rockets now. Unless you are the generator of said snot rocket....
  8. Must we cycle with a facemask?
  9. Doesn't GoPro have their own editing software? I used it some years ago and it was pretty simple to use, and free. If you want to do some real work, Davinci Resolve for sure. I've actually cancelled my Adobe Premiere Pro subscription and will be moving over to Davinci.
  10. Can't help you with that one unfortunately, I usually used SkySafari and SkyMap on my mobile devices. Perhaps there is an additional menu when you swipe from the side?
  11. Here's a possible successor to ATLAS It's already at 8th Magnitude, possibly brightening up to 4th (6th is observable with the naked eye) around the 12th of May, but it will sit low on the twilight horizon, which might make it hard to spot. We'll see what happens!
  12. Oh, you're in for a GREAT time.
  13. SAA not totally dead in the water, yet
  14. 2020 HX3 will be zipping past Earth today at approximately 0.65LD
  15. Both of these are older, but I thoroughly enjoyed them Ooooh, and this one, might be worth a re-watch!
  16. As someone who has been limited to one hour (lower intensity) rides the past six months, I think I can provide a bit of insight here: Prior to Point 1 there was epic laziness and just work-work-work, hence the lack of activity, and between 1 and 2 I was traveling, and at Point 3 I had the unfortunate pleasure of breaking my hip and elbow, which then starts the 6 months period. So between points 3 and 4 I was bedridden, not allowed to do anything, and within the first two weeks my leg muscles had shrunk by 30% I'd say. Point 4 is about 3 weeks after the accident, where the doctor said I could start with some no-resistance pedaling, every second day. About a week-and-a-half after that I started adding resistance as it was bloody boring. Two rides prior to Point 5 (6 weeks after injury), my doctor gave me a good scolding, as the X-Rays showed that the hip was still fractured. Told me to calm down. Then I had a couple of easier rides, and it was December holidays between Points 5 and 6. After Point 6 I had further X-Rays and the fracture had joined, but was not healed, but I could start adding more resistance, which I immediately did, and rode an hour every single day - until at Point 7, infection landed me in hospital for 3 nights, where again the doctor told me to take it easier. So from Point 8, I started focusing more on my physio, and alternated days between cycling and rehab, until the physio said that I'm not progressing fast enough, and should stick to physio for a week or two. At Point 9 (5 months post injury, clear X-Rays) I moved on to the biokineticst, where we measured a 30% power difference between the left and right legs, and since then I've only been doing strengthening exercises and I've ignored cycling completely. So in summary, having started from zero, an hour each day (I followed an FTP Builder plan on Zwift) really boosted my fitness quickly, but also generated long term fatigue. An hour every second day maintained fitness levels pretty well, but nothing beats a day (or two hours) out on the bike, as the two spikes just prior to point 9 indicate.
  17. Well, I think MTB's are limited by the front chainring size on a 1x setup, hence the more MTB-like gearing. Edit: And well, it's probably cheaper than road groupsets. On my bike I have an 11-36 at the back, with I think a 36-42 gravel crankset up front, which is just lovely range of gears, especially on the fast and flat sections. However as Ashchest had mentioned, a 1x11 with a 42 up front and 42 at the back should work just fine as well. The 1:1 ratio has gotten me up some pretty steep inclines on the gravel bike before.
  18. Yeah, so lockdown has me planning some [long term] future projects based on stuff I've seen online, these three are at the top of the list currently:
  19. What are you talking about, he had plenty of fans along the way
  20. As a follow-up to this, my primary funds with Allan Gray have pretty much recovered and are even showing a positive 1-Year return at this stage: My Tax Free investments are not quite there yet, but they are super conservative funds: My pension and preservation funds at Discovery are still down 6% on the contributed amounts, so they still have some ways to go.
  21. Beast
  22. Enjoyed the first episode, off to a good start!
  23. And so it begins ends
