  1. David we used the Bob van Reunen track a few times but since the Mogale City and Chiefs were in talks we were stopped, looks like it is going the same way.The Bob stadium was practically used every day when still opened to the schools in the area.
  2. The lady from Cyclesure actually done a follow-up call with me after my purchasing of some concrete at HNP track in June, This just shows how they are improving their customer service base.
  3. Jedi question just confirms why so many riders actually have licenses, not to ride in that category but rather for the early start, no wonder one finds so many licensed riders on the road when we the social bunches comes past. The issue about licensed guys riding in open bunches when money is available is very true, check the results of these races and you soon see who the culprits are.
  4. Guys enough said. Moderartors please remove this thread. When things get personal I don't play nice so let's not lose our humour. Surferboy come and introduce yourself at the next race.
  5. Slowbee watch and cry when AM hunches his back or JG requests permission to loosen his quads, Jaco wants a pit stop,101% decides his hungry, Greame trying to whisper to AM,Martin decides bunch is to slow.Enter OB( has the best Robbie McKwen impersonation on the bike-You work I watch and win). Guys these men are masters at work.Better stated as "poetry in motion"
  6. Morning all, I am glad AOB1 stated his side. I clearly stated in my first post that IF OB produced proof of payment as an entrant into the super series I would apologize, he clearly stated he has not, case closed. There are principles to be followed as well OB received prize money put up by the Super series not the race organizers at all hence he was not entitled to that money. However we have all learned from this and hopefully next season the racing will be more exciting and entertaining for all to see. I have learnt a lot about race tricks this past few months riding in different team cars to the extend were one actually realises the importance of having a well worked support team. OB you need a support vehicle/manager for races give me a call we will play games with all and sundry.(imagine a Ferrari in the convoy)
  7. We should not go the way of road running and forget that these very vets were once the cream of the crop when they were in their teens, remember when ASA asked Sonja Laxton to give the yougsters a chance at winning races when their pet could not match her on the road, I don't believe we want that for cycling. By the way Sean have you heard about Vanessa Wayland klapping the men again at the Gold Reef 100 miler last week. Second 100 miler for the year, first at Washie now Gold Reef seems like one day we gonna have to state on the entry forms "First prize for Runner across the line" as she is making it a habit now. cheers
  8. Sean as has been proven this year(in Gauteng) our Elites(excl the Pros) has not got the balls to race properly our Vets has raced several races with the elites and made them eat humble pie. Do you recall Kevin Evans winning a Road race in April. I believe their are some Vets in the Cape doing the same to the youngsters. What CSA needs to do is create a seeding system based on rider ability irrespective of age then we will see a huge improvement in cycling
  9. AOB1 on a sporting note why don't you concentrate on your talents and give the youngsters a run for their money and at the same time give back to the sport you so dominated once upon a time, after watching you on the bike for 105km on Sunday I am sure you can still mix it with the best we have in cycling, Think back to Sunday and recall how many a time you had the race leaders looking over their shoulder at you, what was going through their minds then( by the way you answered the question earlier) That is called mind games and can be a powerful weapon used correctly. Anton use your aggression wisely and you will be a force again in the peleton don't let us get into your head as it causes you to lose focus.
  10. Hubbers I apologize to all and ESPECIALLY OB who has reported me for "hacking" the system to prove AK47 is him OB I happened to use my favourite trick on you and it worked, MIND GAMES.
  11. By the way if my hacker worked correcty, then I know who you are,it is simple post your receipt that you entered the Super series and I will apologize.
  12. AK47 once proof of payment is confirmed by SV organizers I will PUBLICALLY APOLOGIZE to OB as stated before irrespective of his other doings as my gripe is about Sundays race.I hope you will be there in person to witness this seeing that you also one of those that hides behind the curtains.
  13. Morning ccc2 You mistaken my friend. The organizer and CGC official was prepared to withold his prize money until confirmation was received that he duly is a participant in the Series enter the CSA officials who was the official comms for the day and the other rather large gentleman (this after the security was called nearer due to OB and other dude started using kind words) and made it quite clear to Bruce " You will give him the prize money because he entered the race and was allowed to ride in the category even though the questions was asked prior to the start when we noticed he had a VS number on" Why did these officials not check then or do the right thing and withold the money until clarity was confirmed. There is no need to lodge an official complaint when the result is a forgone conclusion already.(race organizer rep and series organizer already overruled by the referee on day of event. Please remember this is a discussion forum and has no bearing on the officialdom and their decision, I am sure very few if any of them read these threads. IS OB going to give money back- My bet-NO. I have no beef with the CSA officialdom but must stress if this sport is to be cleaned up it has to happen from top down, all the favours of the past has to be dumped and every cyclists treated in the same manner, the days of my mother/father knowing so and so and I owe you because you done this for me is what killing this sport. No wonder some juniors has no respect for the officials and treat them like rubbish purely because they can. By the way the cabel amongst the officials is what needs to be broken, have you ever wonder why each province does not have their own officials running events in their juristriction and those that say they don't get paid must think again, although the remuneration is minimal it is there and they chose to do the job and keep out others that want to get in the system.
  14. Spidey did you manage to see what he was hiding in his back pocket because it was huge, kept hoping it would spill out on the road for us to see what it was
  15. 64kgs
  16. The sad part about this saga is he rode well throughout the race until AM and JG decide it was time to dump him for not wanting to work with them( Not that they needed his help)The look on his face when said gentlemen rode away was staggering as he came to a complete standstill whilst they powered up the climb.
  17. Peanut not taking a swipe at you.The officials up on the embankment know they were at fault and passed the buck. Sean: you never seen this before on the online entries or race pamphlets: "Seeding: Seeding to be done according to Cyclelab National Seeding index for all online entries and pre-entries received and paid before relevant closing dates. Offline late entries will be accepted at registration only - a penalty fee of R50 will be applicable. No seeding for late entries"
  18. Peanut he actually convinced Leizel that he was part of the series(Lady organizer for D2D)
  19. I want these selfsame officials to please explain how a late entrant can get to ride in a seeded group when the rules clearly state this is not allowed.YES OFFICIALS you stuffed up and now you turn and blame us, has you not given him a seeded race number he would have justly rode in the open bunch and no problems would have arisen. My opinion is he not only cheated other cyclists but brought the sport into disrepute by entering into an event knowingly he had no right to that event.AO be man enough and pove us cyclist wrong by producing your receipt that you are entered into the SUPER SERIES.
  20. Guys it is not the UCI rules that causes these problems it is the officials who interpret them the way they want to. To me it depends on their mood on the day.
  21. Why can't our CSA officials deal decisively with matters at hand. At the Dome to Dome "Anton Oberholzer" done a late entry and through his coniving convinced the ladies he is part of the Super series hence he got an entry into the race and ended 3rd in the race.(How does a late entrant get into a seeded start)I suspect the same CSA aunty gave him the entry because he is demanded it. 1: He did NOT pay his R250-00 to be part of the series as all the other riders did(Until Thursday afternoon he was not listed as a participant in the Super-series)I will personally apologize to him if he can show proof of payment and retract this statement 2He has the gall to demand payment be made at the prize giving because he finished third which rightly he did.But how do you give such a person money not due to him, effectively he cheated another rider out of the super series prize money which they contributed towards from their R250-00 entry fee to the series. 3: Enter the CSA officials and they demand the Super series organizer will hand over the money because he was allowed to enter by their people and has the right to the prize money. Does this mean the chief referee will rule based on his interpretation or based on facts before him. I wonder if CSA will be bold enough and pay the fourth placed ride the monies due to him since they allowed this to happen if it is proven that Anton did not enter the series.
  22. Well done to the organizers of the super series I believe it served the purpose it was set-up for. It gave the vets the value they were looking for and it helped our ladies improve their cycling as well. Hopefully this can be implemented across the country and all the race organizers see the value in it been part of their races.
