  1. Not about money for MTN, Doug knows what he wants and how to achieve it and to give his sponsor the required exposure they demand in return.
  2. Anyone know when the results will be released. nothing on the website as yet
  3. Thanks Craven. Pity though this would have been the proper place to deal with the issue however CSA as the custodians of the sport should now be called in to resolve the issues at hand.
  4. Breeze: A few months ago on Supercycling mention was made about the riders association and their representation of cyclists on the pro peleton. I will follow this up with Owen/Andrew. This is an extract from the UCI rules pertaining to contracts: "2.16.036 The rights and obligations of the rider and the paying agent shall be summarised in a written employment contract that shall contain at least the minimum stipulations of the standard contract given in article 2.16.052. The rights and obligations of the parties shall also be governed by the joint agreement concluded" If Durwin is in dispute and has a copy of his contract notify him to seek help, Firstly get reasons from club for dismissal/suspension in writing failing which inform CSA firstly before doing anything else.Set him on the right channels of dispute resolution.
  5. This is sad that another top SA club has to go this route why not do things correctly and uphold the reputation of your sponsors and the dignity of the riders (Who are your employees). Riders please protect yourselves. By the way is the riders association aware of this dispute and are they actually mandated to deal with it.This will be a good test case to follow.
  6. It is sad that we are going through tons of responses when the official verdict from the comms " AS POSTED EARlIER" was nobody saw the incident to lay official complaint during the event itself. Instead of critizing the young lady/club offer some advise and encouragement to enable her to perform better in the future. By the way Cherry I believe ladies cycling needs you, even if just as a consultant. Doug cast your mind on this as well
  7. TO Bernhardine I suggest you make sure you have all the facts in place when making statements as above, yes they do all the mentioned items nobody disagrees BUT at whose expense????? Is it not strange that cyclists need permission from a local club to use a facility meant for the greater communities of the area of juristriction. Look at the run around a member had last year trying to get permission to use HNP to stage a track event.
  8. GO and Chunky if you are not with clubs currently I suggest you register with one and get affiliated to CGC, I will do your nominations through my club and drive the process at the next AGM to ensure you representation at CGC level as I believe in total fairness and creating opportunities where required.
  9. Send motivational letter to provincial body from the club requesting the person be nominated for specific position at congress, remember the person must be a member of the nominating province.
  10. To all the Gauteng cyclists wanting change at CGC the challenge is now officially open. The next CGC AGM will be held in JAN 2009, which gives you enough time to register with a club and become an CGC member thus giving you the right to be nominted for a position of the CGC Executive and then onto the commission of choice. I believe the remaining eight months should be adequate for you to get yourself sorted and start working on your portfolios.
  11. Now that we know who CGC executive want for their nominations the challenge goes to the other provinces to make public their lists so that we can start canvassing amongst the provinces for the best person in each position. A challenge to the current holders of positions justify to us the cyclist why we should ensure you another term? Voetsek Groot Lem en ander maak reg om notas te neem hier kom a ding
  12. Guys this is why I stand by my statement " Stand up and get yourself nominated" or suffer another term of turmoil and unhappiness. We seem to have a us and them situation arising once again. A simple solution would be to have each province submit their nominations and caucus one another to ensure at congress the vote goes the way of the "Best person for the job" Each province must remember you are accountable to their cyclists hence you the cyclist must make an effort to voice your opinion in whom your province nominates to these positions of power to serve your interests at national level. By the way is it not strange that some provinces has not had their 2007/2008 AGM as yet. Wonder what the ploy is for this. THINK HARD AND LONG BEFORE VOTING IN ANYONE AND MAKE SURE YOU DO IT WITH CYCLING AS THE WINNER AT THE END OF THE DAY.
  13. It is easy to say vote them off. Who is brave enough to have themselfs nominated and do a better job than currently happening? Far easier to crit from outside the corridors than when you in the hotseat.
  14. Good day all A challenge to all who feel a changing of guard must take place: "STAND UP AND NOMINATE YOURSELF" the situation with CSA and some provinces lacks active participation from your the cyclists not only on your bikes but on the admin side as well. Where were you at the last CGC meeting (+- 14 clubs present, the rest interested parties from other provinces). No matter how much you moan on the outside nothing will change unless you make a difference and come forward.
  15. Another old name that kept the GPPA going and has the knowledge about cycling is Len Kline I am sure he can add value to a position in CSA.
  16. Part of Glyn's club.(Velokhaya) The only true transformation/development club going.
  17. Hi all I have just receive word via the wires that Mr Greg Till is willing and available for the position of President, Please encourage your delegates to nominate and vote for him. Greg if you on the hub please confirm. Voetsek kom ons nodig hiedie man se nomination druk.
  18. This is sad that we have people we think want to improve the administration of the sport yet they are only doing it for their personal agenda's. THe CSA board is a voluntary board so where is the benefits for these persons coming from to be so destructive. Hoe gann ons hierdie probleem oplos as elke een sy eie agenda het?

    CSA komitee

The COO is the only CSA member known to have travelled the country setting up meetings with the cyclists and provincial bodies to establish what is required by them and whilst this was happening some CSA persons tried to get rid of him hence the uproar to have his contract renewed. You cannot make changes without knowing what must be changed and for what reasons this must be done. I believe the COO will ensure us the cyclist benefit in the long run once he is through with all the paperwork and politics within CSA. Look at the apathy shown in November when the current CSA board requested provinces to justify the vote of no confidence in them and follow proper procedures. So the challenge is simple Provincial bodies get your act together for the sake of moving forward come April congress. We know there are many persons out there can can do the job our COO is doing maybe even better BUT THEY need to step up to the plate and accept the challenge, don't kill something because of personal agendas
  20. Having just read the 'closed topic' post I find it interesting that someone would not nominate himself to a position within CSA yet shoots down names of others the hubbers suggest. A simple request Mr Cooper please state your nominations for us to view and comment on.
  22. Breeze with the way things going at Neotel(work and cycling) will Eugene have the time available to drive CSA as well, if so then have him nominated, what about yourself for the development role with emphasis on the juniors?
  23. Guys let us hope and pray people take positions for the sake of improving the lot of cycling in SA and not for self glory. Remember emotion must not be used as a criteria for wanting your province, club or associate in a position. Whoever you nominate must be willing to drive the position they stand for and be able to work with the likes of the COO and general manager. I wonder whether the current incumbants at CSA are checking these posts and if the have any value to add or justify why they should be retained in their positions.
  25. Groot Lem for President Ciska Austin for Development/Juniors: What has Roger done for development in the past two years? Doug should head up the road selectors. Please give some insight into who the additional members are and what provinces they from.
