  1. What she done is called "struggle bookkeeping" where you pay yourself what you think you are worth and overtime as well because nobody is interested in what happens within CGC as long as they receive their paperwork and licenses from the office. Must say the manner in which the money was taken was done brilliantly to fool CA's and others for a while. Now to see how many of those who had strong and stern words for the executive will actually take up the challenge and volunteer to work on the CGC executive once the AGM comes around next year. I thought the ANC has taught me some tricks but lately I am astounded by what I see happening within the cycling fraternity on and off the bike, one wonders how far back this goes within the halls of cycling.
  2. Please warn Prince he is no longer in Gauteng and MUST obey the White line rule
  3. I hope you never gave him the track bike.
  4. Chilli this will happen with many other items from within CSA due to a select few persons doing the job for years and nobody else prepared to give their time to learn from such persons (or should I say they not willing to share knowledge outside of their circle of friends- Called job reservation)I found this out the hard way and still struggling to upgrade my license.CL tries his best to help where he can but how much more can be done when no policy or procedures exists.Four years later and still waiting on policy from Roger(T/D).
  5. Main man that gives the courses is still ???????
  6. Kori give me a call. I purchased the Shamals for Francois charity drive and it has a * speed hub on it, Let's talk. Mallo 0847991958
  7. CWC is following the legal channels and not wanting to cause further problems with their wholesale chain, once a case is registered the SAPS has to follow-up and investigate. Why does Puzzler not say how many wheel-sets were opened and un boxed to find only 10 sets without serials on them which duly had to be taken in for evidence seeing that a case was registered. There was and is ongoing visits to other online shops as well from SARS, DTI officials, customs inspectorate etc checking on paper work and legality of said businesses which proves someone or somebody not happy with the loss of trade to said shops.(or is the efficiency of said departments improving) Two cycle shops on the West Rand of Gauteng actually had guys taking down prices/part numbers/models of certain items in store and when questioned were told it is for comparison yet one could see these youngsters were drilled to look for certain numbers etc. What will happen next year when all the Ibis and Kona products flood our shores?
  8. Not a good day for SA Cycling when one finds out that all your good intentions will end up on the rubbish heap before it even started. We all know there is currently only three good ladies teams racing at the moment against each other and a very few junior ladies making any head-way The powers that be not interested in looking at proposals presented to them, influential figures discouraging potential sponsors fron coming on board with unknown persons and then the man with the money contracting all the best into one team (It is good in a sense that the ladies will earn a decent salary at the end of the day) BUT who are they going to race against and how will it improve the status of ladies cycling once these said ladies race in Europe for three to four months next year? Ladies please give us your opinions on this

  10. Well in JHB we do not worry about the white line or traffic on our country rides
  11. The beauty of our country.
  12. Speedy recovery, will keep you in our prayers.
  13. That is why the HUB is here for us to say our say whether it is factual or hearsy, we get some persons all emotional and others hot under the collar when the truth hits at them and we idolise some shaky characters, forget about the real nature of the sport. We nail our local LBS and other business practices when it suits us, forgetting they are there at the end of the day to sell a product and put food on their tables as well. Lastly we have Crux breaking the ice every now and then with his new toys and their paint jobs. What would we do without Big H and TooHot there to amuse us,Ronelle for her weekly dose of great pics, Arnie and co for the sports slot,Pantani and his bling ideas,Shaunh looking after our safety without much recognition for it.The list grows
  14. " Agreed, you should check the rest This is sport, and the nature of sport is that it mostly invites the weak, since the strong aren't interested. Mark my words: most people involved in sports volunteerism has something odd going on with themselves. on the CSA board, they're either in for selfgain, or for self-interest, or "for the love of the sport," or for genuinely sound reasons. I am stil trying to figure who is who (I am not on the board, but I know why I am in cycling.)" Now I understand why Barry's offer has not received a reply as yet.Pity that such an initiative is now lost to the youngsters.
  15. It seems we have a tit for tat match about to brew out of this. Rumour has it someone not happy paying the salary for CL and him not following their orders.Reading between the lines there seems to be some power play taking place within certain structures hence "you will not get rid of "x y or z" as they are MY ????? "Dave Bellairs, who wears many hats in South African cycling, said that both as a PPA member and the vice president of CSA he had been upset with Lemmer?s take on the Medscheme Tour de Vino. Bellairs said the sponsors, Medscheme, PPA and other CSA officials had agreed a mistake had been made, but it had not detracted from the event. ?I don?t want to get involved in a fight with Carinus, I think he has been wonderful for the sport, but I was disappointed and saddened that he came out with the statement,? said Bellairs yesterday. ?The mistake happened, we sorted it out quickly and the safety of not one cyclists was compromised. The PPA and Matchworld, who organised the event from a Medscheme perspective, have an excellent relationship and the organisation was top class. ?I think that when Carinus was speaking to the journalist |after the race, he acted emotionally. He is passionate about cycling and I think let his emotion get the better of him and didn?t stop to think before he said what he said. I?ll be speaking to him about it".

Speedi, Andriette can be compared to a mature wine lately, recently she has found the edge to racing against anyone anywhere and doing very well. What was noticed is her ability to socialize with her fellow cyclists and take time out to speak to fellow cyclists as well. I believe old "Ice Maiden tag has been crushed.
  18. Guys we should be thankful that Cyclelab actually affords us the opportunity of having a seeding system that works at no costs to us the cyclists, it is their perogative to update when they feel the need to do so. Looking at 2009 what are we going to do when you have the following happening: Cycle events(Mainly timed by championchip some extent Winningtime / Cyclingnews(Winningtime)/ Spectrum sports Timing, Entrytime events / The new kids on the bloke-Swedish chaps. MY RACE (Official CSA guys)not all provinces hooked up to their systems yet(cause for concern to some provinces and clubs at present)/ CGC's new timing/seeding system coming into effect soon.etc Think about it for now

    Chapmens Peak

Was at the Nedbank marathon and can only say you Capies must start preparing for the reclaiming by the ocean soon. The rain has really caused some damage and by the look of things to come the sea is slowly creeping closer to the beaches and such like. Why was Snookies and Mariners Wharf closed at 19H00 already. I see the squatter camp is already higher than the posh houses at Hout Bay. Boy I can do with that prime property
  23. Sean what about uncle Allan Ferguson who ran a marathon(Slow Mag) with me at the tender age of 63 finishing in 3H40 a few years ago.He still runs the shoter races now and again.Dick Welch at +-70 still running 2 hour half marathons
  24. David we used the Bob van Reunen track a few times but since the Mogale City and Chiefs were in talks we were stopped, looks like it is going the same way.The Bob stadium was practically used every day when still opened to the schools in the area.
