  1. I thought they might do like a Montreal - Roubaix UCI tour in support of the bike shop owner
  2. So perhaps Specialized did not follow the right channels, but imagine that Fuji could legally hold them responsible for not acting on the trademark infringement. Fuji looking like the heroes now. At least Cafe Roubaix got some free advertising out of this. And everybody can now go and buy a Fuji bike, since they're the heroes and Specialized the bullies. Cause we just like having a Fuji under us just to support the brand. #prdonotmakegoodorbadbikes
  3. Cannot believe that someone copies a bicycle brand name for the name of his shop and think he can get away with it.
  4. You are all giving this story way to much credit
  5. It is so global that when you search it on Google you only get 1 hit under news. You are also going with the assumption that everybody sees it on Twitter and FB. Wave in a teacup I'd say
  6. They still make the best bikes and we're a little forum somewhere in Africa It'll blow over without any effect
  7. I have Castelli Enduro Bib shorts, and they work really well, you will pay about R1500 per bib. I did try on the Assos, but for some odd reason I found them to be uncomfortable, I must probably the only one in the universe that think that way, but that was my experience.
  8. The other question then, hardtail or full sus 29'er?
  9. Interesting, thanks Why buy carbon then, because it is actually stiffer than Alu? I've also heard that it is better to have a 27.2 seatpost than say a 30 on a 29'er, is that true?
  10. I'll do it, will be cool, just need to get my head around it. But even so, the questions still stands which frame to go for, or if it is much of a muchness when it comes to a hardtail
  11. Well, everybody that I have spoken to says that, so I took it for granted that that is the way it is, is it not?
  12. Not disagreeing, but the theory is that if you go 29'er hardtail it should be carbon in order to make it a softer ride. That is what the experts say
  13. @Stevief, never thought of that, did not follow the Chinese Carbon thread, though it is everybody ranting about cheap imports, but just looked at it and it seems like it is legit Maybe not a bad option. What size bike is that, and can one customize the decals, or just leave it of?
  14. @AuctionLamb I've heard that on the Storm, the rear wheel rubs against the frame, which is causing problems, any knowledge of that? The Storm really is a good looking bike.
  15. @finallygotabike, agree, but is is a bit more expensive for the carbon, not sure you can get a carbon Flash for 30k?
  16. Thanks Flat, unfortunately in Cape Town. I do agree that one needs to go tide with them, to make sure. I would love to buy the Spez, but honestly, the Stumpy looks weird for some reason, not saying though that I wouldn't buy it, that is just where my head sits at the moment. Do you think the Spez feel better because it is a Spez, or because of geometry? ScottC-M - do we still mention wheel size ;-) Looking at 29'er. Make sense what you are saying about the wheel size from Giant, I forgot about that one.
  17. Hardly the type of bikes one should put next toe each other. Trying to get my head around which hardtail to buy and what budget would be enough. I want to spend around R30k for that I would like a carbon hardtail. I will take the standard wheel with the idea to upgrade later on. From what I've seen, it is much of a muchness when in comes to a hardtail, yes geometry is very important, but at this stage I am not convinced that a R50k hardtail will ride easier that a R30k from the same manufacturer. Momsen is quite good value for money and it is local, something like the 729, Silverback Storm is also good value for money, not sure if it is still the flavour of the month and the you have the Stumpy, which for some odd reason just do not look as nice/aggresive as other hardtails. One could off course also go the Rocky Mountain/Giant route. Any suggestion, or should I rather save up for something like the Spez Epic or Scott full sus. This is mainly for cross country/marathon type riding.
  18. Throw the non members to the Cobra
  19. Is a win a win if you pass someone on the last corner in the MotoGP of Formula 1?
  20. When did idots start MTB'ing, we are turning this sport into one of the most hated and snobbish things around. Might actually get the real down to earth oaks on the golf course these days. Shocking
  21. Good day all Could anybody here point me in the right direction to get some help with my freestyle swim stroke? It is proving to be quite a challenge. I spoke to the guys from Raynard Tissink Academy and although it seems quite affordable and high tech, it will be a bit difficult to get there during working hours, especially because it is in Hout Bay and I'm in the Northern Suburbs. I also got some info from the guys at the Bellville, Fairmont High, Durbanville High pools, but it seems that one has to join the club to get help. The Ryk Neetling swim school at Val de Vie seems like it is catering for children. Anybody with any other suggestions?
  22. I guess they're at the same place as the socks and spoons, all of them having a big party
  23. The dramatic new route of the eleventh edition of the Absa Cape Epic, which takes place from 23 to 30 March next year (2014), will again offer participants from around the world an awesome trail that showcases the best that the Western Cape has to offer. Both local and international mountain biking enthusiasts will be taking on the demanding eight day mountain bike adventure of 718km with 14 850m of climbing. Click here to view the article
  24. First thing they'll tell you is not to buy a Full Suss 29'er, unless it is a Epic
  25. Does that also mean that all the other batteries that you sell are dangerous?
