  1. Would be much easier tracking with Google+ Location
  2. Depending on who you support, flat tyre was the difference today. Impressive from Rabon, might be getting stronger, long week ahead Seems like Bulls1 not as strong as previously thought?
  3. I second that, just saw a guy here in Cape Town, going over the stop at D'Urbanvale ons his way to Meerendal. He dit not low down, look right or noticed the car that was way before him, turning right. He rode straight through. IDIOT! Hope you arereading this. IDIOT!
  4. I'm going to apply the OP's theory in my car from now on, think traffic will be a breeze tomorrow morning. Thanks for the insight, for all the commuters, watch out for me when you're crossing the green light in the Bellville area tomorrow morning.
  5. If you read through the thread, you will see that someone did make mention of it and said that kit is old and that the person is actually not a member there.
  6. This is going to have serious implications for anybody on a bike. The day that 20 oakes screwed every cyclist in South Africa happened yeserday
  7. I see an opportunity for some funny cyclists to rival this clip with one of their own
  8. I like how they want to act the same as cars, but do not abide by any of the rules.
  9. Thought we always name and shame and bitch and moan about the guys and clubs giving us a bad name so here is a big ups to the cyclist in the Cyclefunatic kit that stopped at the Durban Rd/Kendal Rd traffic light this morning. Keep it up!
  10. Ok Spinnekop, see you on the road. You probably the cyclist that ran the light this morning on my way to work.
  11. Bateleur1, there is not a change that the movie clip was taking with a cellphone in hand, way to stable for that, but anyway. Point is this. You can see how the drivers in both cars get frustrated with the situation, The BMW wanted to overtake, and then the single cyclist passed the other one without signalling, or looking, talking about how much longer it would take to wait for the cars to pass, before you pass the cyclist ahead of you. The stop street, what ever happened there, it doesn't look like that caused frustrations for anybody. But once they hit that little hill, not even looking behind then, or trying to get out of the way of the car, I think that is wrong. Sure, the car passed on a solid line and all, but my opinion is that it was because the guys was cycling next to each other. It doesn't matter what we feel right and wrong is here, point is, we should do what we can so no fingers can get pointed to us. Saying the we have right of way and things like that just make things worse. We do not have the respect of drivers and we are not doing ourselves any favor, as this video shows. .
  12. @Hennie VR as I said, think you are missing the point But lets all keep aggravating frustrations for what cyclists do on the road
  13. Especially if you are on your way to work, with 3 cyclists next to each other in front of you. Think you are missing the point, but such is life
  14. Funny how these responses are what one would expect from The Hub. Last time I checked a car can hurt you when you cycle in front of it, whether he was right or wrong will not get your life back.
  15. So, if you ever wondered what it looks like from a car when we cycle, have a look at this video I found on Youtube. Shocking that we always claim innocence. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiV_jGrstiM Common people, focus.
  16. If I remember correctly, there's about 2 paintball venues along Bottelary, look for a black VW there. Those guys are cowboys, especially if it is the guy that managed the paintball venue in Jonkers, hy het sulke wille oe gehad.
  17. Camping?
  18. We did it last year. I enjoyed the race. I do think if you are anal about what water tables offer, you might be slightly disappointed, but when you think about it, you do not really need a whole lot of people at the table forming a guard of honor. My biggest disappointment though was at the end, when you sort of finish, get a juice and off you go. I do however think the race is about more that water tables and endings, as this is a real challenge for the normal mountain biker. I think doing it solo can be tough as it can get seriously lonely if you cannot stick with other riders. As for advise, this race is long, long, long, long and will test your mental strength. Still deciding if we are going to do this one this year, or try something else.
  19. Blokman, I saw those, one of the ones I am considering. How is their sizing?
  20. Beesrip, where do you buy that?
  21. Not to start a debate on what the best bibs are, but what bibs are there that is more affordable, I know the usual suspects Assos, Vermarc, Craft, Castelli, with Assos obviously leading the pack, I prefer Castelli. In my effort not to wash bibs twice a week, is there anything else for a 1:30 ride in the week, that is cheaper than those leaders? I see Craft has more affordable bibs, so does First Ascent and the cheaper Cape Storms as well. Could anyone advocate on something like this, or do I just go out and spend double the amount on another pair of Castelli's?
  22. If I am not signed up to PPA, will this influence my seading. Not sure I I am going to do PPA this year.

    Argus MTB

I have mixed feeling about this. I fully agree that last years route was crap. I've done 10 MTB Cahllenges, last year when I enquired about a number, as per the Argus, they said you get nothing, so there is no carrot for completing 10. Will think about it, maybe it is good to move it to new venue, they had it at Boschendal for 10 years, so maybe a change is good.
  24. From the Irish Independent Newspaper A young man was left with a seven-week penile erection after he suffered a straddle injury on the crossbar of his mountain bike. The 22-year-old endured the distressing condition for five weeks before seeking help from doctors at Tallaght Hospital in Dublin. Doctors who treated him first attempted compression with a special dressing for two weeks but this proved temporary and, as a soon as it was removed, the erection resumed. He eventually had to have a blood vessel blocked in a non-invasive procedure although doctors could only find two previously documented reports of an unwanted prolonged erection after a straddle injury. He made a full recovery and one month later there was no recurrence, with the patient reporting "satisfactory erection and intercourse". The man, who was a competitive biker, had what is known as a "high-flow priapism" with a rigid erection, which happens without sexual stimulation, according to his doctors who reported on their unusual patient in the 'Irish Medical Journal'. EMBARRASSMENT He had fallen astride his bicycle handlebar and suffered pain, bruising and swelling, all of which had cleared up within a few days. However, the unwanted erection persisted; although when he was examined by doctors they found no signs of injury and apart from embarrassment he was not in discomfort. The successful treatment involved inserting gel foam and four tiny platinum coils at an abnormal connection between an artery and a vein that supplied blood to the man's penis. Consultant Intervention radiologist at Tallaght Hospital, Dr Ronan Browne described the treatment as "a great result for him. We were very happy with the outcome. It was an anxious time for the patient as it would be for any young man." Although the procedure was minimally invasive, it involved "a high level of expertise". Doctors had to insert a catheter, a flexible tube through a narrow opening, into the man's pelvic artery. The delicate treatment saw the doctors inserting foam and coils into the artery, mindful that it carried a small risk of impotence. However, other more invasive treatment had a higher risk of impotence. Dr Browne pointed out: "You have to get it right -- you don't want to block off too much blood supply." Dave Jordan of mountainbiking.ie said: "The poor fella -- it sounds extremely unusual."
  25. Seems like a confirmation for Sausser, from Oliver Munnik's Twitter Grt to meet&interview @SpecializedZA 's @AbsaCapeEpic duo @frantisekrabon & @sauserwind 4 @Bicycling_SA March issue
