    Argus H group

I think the H group rode very well, maybe not Sub 3, but it was the best bunch I've been part of. Made an error in the last 100m up Smitswinkel, managed to chase the leaders down and made the same mistake going through Misty Cliffs, just couldn't latch on again. Will have to see when the results come out, managed a 3:14' everuthing taken into account, I'm happy. Lessons learnt, but cannot say that I would have been able to go faster.
  2. @sharkie2 true but then let me get the number on the morning of the race, and don't let everybody trek halfway across the world to get the number If they want to differentiate between a top class event and a normal ppa event they sure can do more from their side and, sure everybody started doing this, but this is our premium event in the country, act like it then
  3. Well said @Dubber!!! What is scary is that it also means that nobody think it is important to add any sort op sponsorship to this event, yet Stillwater sports, works wonders with their sponsorship
  4. @gongmech that's if there is a bag
  5. I love Specialized, but that helmet just didn't sit well on my head, not dissing the helmet, maybe more my head, couldn't afford the top of the range Prevail and finally decided on the Rudy Project Sterling, sorry guys for mentioning this, but it fits my head well and it was at a good price, still enjoying it afte 6 months. Let you head/fit do the talking
  6. @CyclingJan, ag, you know, it's probably not so much want you want, it's more about the getting nothing, if that makes sence at all, look pedals won't work though, as I alreay have those But like @CatGirl says, just go out and enjoy the racing ne Still just feel like an anti climax for a race that is sort of suppose to be one of the bigger races. I'm sure even the Atta offers more Storm in a teacup a suppose
  7. I know this is bitching about the obvious, and I know it is always the same and they probaly right to rather give nothing, than to give a bag with a pen and flings in it, but as stated here, I also did the Xterra and they seemed to get it right, and who are they really? and "only" 2000 people? Here we have the Argus, we have probably around 6000 people racing, suppose to be biggest MTB race in the SA, if not the world, and nada, nothing, surely there is a descent sponsor out there that can give you something, to make it worth it. Every stage race nowadays gets something nice, and, taken into account that Columbia is sponsoring the Grape Escape, surely they could have chipped in. So I guess the medal and coke will have to do, along with the water running out at the last few water stations, etc etc etc. Anyway, what do we know, we're only the participants paying.
  8. What i really appreciate are those nifty new platic like thingies, they say it is to fix the number to your handlebars, apparently the next big thing.
  9. Just really wanted to rave about the awesome goodi bag we get a registration, it really makes this entry so worth it, glad someone finally got it right. (said with a lot of sarcasm)
  10. I don't know what the other XCO tracks look like around SA, for the series, but this one must rate up there, for spactators that is. Sitting at Willow Bridge, enjoying pizza, coffee, etc and seeing the whole race unfold in front of you, it's like it was made for this and once your done eeting, walk the course to see how they do going up to the top, or comming down some awesome xc singletrack. CWCycles really got something right here, would have been awesome stop/start venue for Epic!
  11. anybody?
  12. Does anybody have any info on this. I think it is happening this weekend, but cannot find any details on how to enter, how many laps, etc etc
  13. Epic lost it's appeal, anybody with money can do it, like any other stage race out there, so you pic the one with the most enjoyment and value, of which the Epic has none (value)
  14. The sale should go better this time round.
  15. Sub-5, not 4 You are right, last year was 5:11, Daikin-Gu
  16. Didn't Daikin do a Sub 5 last year, when Anderson got penalized also due to feeding?
  17. First time in how long that the winner is not Anderson or Daikin

    Cricket......

@christie it is because South Africa don't know how to grind, if it is going good, it is going very good. Whether you like him or not, if Smith don't perform SA falls flat. Let's hope the guys get into their test cricket mode, might be to late for this series though
  19. Well said iRide!!! I think the longer we sat in the tent waiting to hear what was going to happen, to more we knew what was coming, and the cheers and applause when they did make the decission was enough proof that they made the right call. It would however have been nice to pull into Onrus and getting that feeling of accomplishment.
  20. And so starts the storm in the teacup. I would imagine that if there was a majority unhapiness, the cheers in the tent when the announcement was made should have been boo's. I agree that it is dissapointing, but, ultimately safety But, lets grab the popcorn and see where this goes. W2W is a premiere MTB event in the country and I am sure thet the organizers would not have done this if they had another option. It was not just about the rain, it was about getting 800 odd people over a mountain that looks like a river and I am sure that by tonight at 7 people would still be struggling on the course. Anyway, like I said, grab the popcorn.
  21. ok dan
  22. Your 12 year old would be able to do Nike's logo as well, and the ABSA logo and it is not as if Adidas reinvented the wheel for their log, Puma, difficult one that, Apple. I just think that at the scale of the Epic, it must be a nightmare to get the old logo printed on all different medium, not even to mension trying to do embroidery onto clothes, so, even though I is nog a busy as the old one, in the long run it does make sense, and as boring as the "gears" might look, it does give the option of animated graphics for TV etc Just a few other boring logo's I can think of Facebook Skype Twitter and dare I say this "the Hub" Chain Reaction Cycles FNB
  23. really?
