Are the havens to heavier, I do mainly Cross Country?

It's through ChainReaction, so you can have a look there, they have quite nice specials on the Eastons at the moment.

I must say, my head say the SLR's but I can get the Eastons for R1500 less.

Even if Frome went ahead on the mountains he would not,have made up the difference between 1st and 2nd place, the margin migh have been closer, but he certainly would not have won. The same for Cavendish, he is so,far behind in the green jersey that he cannot blame the team for that, he however did take it without bitching about it and rspects the team en team leader, Wiggins will probably help Cav in the Olympics!

Sjoe E-man I think your grilling of Dan is a bit hectic. I don't think we can even begin to understand what is going on there. This is Dan's work and even if he was 'n little lazy in getting the criteria right, it is more about the USA series that the ITU series. As far as him not competing in Europe last year, as youc an see from his blog, the europeand are also not traveling to US, due to cost and prize money, thus, him not going there last year has merit. Anyway, I think it might be confusion, but I also think that the administrators could have done more, not to put him on a pedastal, but surely, for the love of sport they could make more effort with the pro guys, not because they think they are better than anybody else, but because this is what they do for a living. Even Conrad, the current champion, look at how they treat him, just no passion from their side.

I for one hate it if they guys hang around like flies while I'm browsing, but then I have also hung around at the counter waiting to ask for some help, and not getting any, that goes for alle bike shops, the bigger ones that is. Sorry to say, but WE is not Mr Sociable, so don't expect to much. But I really do hope that he can pick thing up at the Bellville shop, they had a good thing going there way back, Northern Suburbs needs an active cycle shop.

How do you do the froth?

@CAAD4 do you have of those cleaning tools for the Chris King? So you recon it is worth the money?

Just wondering if anybody here has a Chris King BB and if you think it is worth the dough. This is fot a MTB.

Chro Mo Thanks for the advise. I am actually not that worried about the performance side, as I think, they are all pretty much the same, in terms of performance for us okes. I want something that wont make a noise after riding through some mud and water. I originally had a Race Face X-Type on the bike and that needed replacement after about 3 years, now, with an Ultegra, after 5 months it is noise. It deffinately sounds like there is something in the left bearing making a noise. Someone told me over the weekend that with shimano, the bearing are only sealed on the outside? Basically what it comes down to for me is, if Chris King will also make the noise, purely because that is MTB'ing, then I'll stick to the "normal" stuff, but if there is any chance that it will solve this normal wear a tare type of issues, I want to consider it. Any one with experience of this sort of thing?

Now the next question, is it worth going for ceramic bearings, or even, go for something like a Hope or Chris King BB? It just feels like I always get a "creaking" noise at the BB. I bought the tools now to open everything up myself an clean the threads and re-grease, but when I was cleaning the one BB cup (of the Ultegra BB) it sounded like there is soemthing in the bearing, and that is most probably causing the sound, which made me thing that the Ultegra might not be sealed as well as the say XT/XTR, but it they are all the same, would this change with something like the Hope/Chris King or something with ceramic bearings? Or do I just need to clean it more often?

Can one use "any" bottom bracket for mountain biking. If one has to choose between Xt, XTR and Ultegra, would you rather go for the XT or XTR, or would the Ultegra do the same thing? Tanks
