This was more or less where it happened.
Totally, counting my lucky stars. Having read about so many incidents and seen some horrific photos, I was lucky.
Literally as I passed Blue Jay/Timberlea (where I recall a similar incident took place), I was thinking to myself: "How? It's so open here and there's traffic, etc." As soon as I saw the 3 guys, I was like "Oh ****, trouble". Glad my head was up and I was at least aware of my surroundings. Wish I was going even faster...
Pisses me off that one of the cops, who overheard me giving my statement, said: "You saw a knife and slowed down?" And then walked off with a smirk on her face. 🤬
I just didn't have enough speed (or so I thought) and didn't want to risk a 50/50 chance to get past the first guy, with the fear of getting knocked off and being completely disabled and injured.
Tried my luck to turn around, but just wasn't quick enough so decided my life was worth more than my insured bike.
