  1. On what repository can I get this? Then as well,…. Anyone have issues with the FTV guide? For the last week or so I can open it and the screen only says data already loading….?
  2. Sorry if this is going to sound stupid, but what trinity events? I don't see any on their website. Are still going to have events?
  3. Hey Guys, need your help here please cause I am gonna lose my marbles (or ceramic bearings if you like) here… So I got the internet connection set up. It was super expensive (3K) for the installation. Now I am still waiting for my media player in the mail for the tv’s (another R800). I am paying R699 a month for my internet. So I spent all this money and this weekend it was such a mission still to watch the cycling! Here is what I did: I have a very nice 55” UHD in the lounge. Is a smart TV so I just installed the RedbullTV app whilst I wait for the media player/centre. It was ridiculous how bad the image quality is. I could not even see who the cyclist was on the TV for the Men’s XCO. So then I went to my PC and used the RedbullTV add on in Kodi. Same story. It was terrible. I then tried my iPad, better quality on the screen but the live video feed did not connect. I eventually got to watch from lap 3 onwards from my iPhone on the redbulltv website. So I went from a 55” down to a freaken iPhone. COME ON!! Why did I pay this money?.... OK, so I calmed down and whilst watching the iPhone searched on UKTV & Sportdevil for the XCO to see if the image quality might be better than the Redbulltv add-on. And guess what, I could not find any freaken other stream to watch it. Nothing.... Nada! Wat did you guys use to watch it on? I was hoping to watch the tour de france on the tv as well, but when you go on Steephill on the TV’s browser and use the open links (ESPN as an example), the video feed does not start. It needs some type of codex. The PC I use does not have bad spec (not the latest, but not bad) and everything in the house is connected on the same internet connection. There is no buffering so I assume the internet speed is sharp (6mbs at the tv). I don’t know what to do. I rarely watch TV, and in the case I would like to this shiat happens….. How did you guys go about for TDF & XCO this past weekend?
  4. Think I did as well but for a different reason. I just entered the 5150 without looking at my calendar. The 5150 is on the 20th. I have the Trans Baviaans on the 13th and the Lost City Cycle challenge on the 21st. All book and paid! I really need to book this stuff in my calendar. I cant just skip the 5150 now and loose R1000, so that leaves me with 3 races in 8 days. Think I will take the Lost City race easy….
  5. Ok, I found the Mxq Full Hd 1080p Ott TV Box Android 4.4 Media Player for R795 and ordered one. So lets see how it works. Watch this space (in 1 to 3 days in main centres) .
  6. I think in the long run this will be the best option. Its a lot of extra to spend but for peace in the house this might be the way to go. Quick Q, where do you get them for R800? The cheapest I can find is the MXQ Quad-Core Android TV Box for R995 from http://androidtvboxes.co.za/
  7. I did some googling and from what I can see is that you add Plex in Kodi and not Kodi in plex so that solution wont work. Or am I missing something? Isnt the whole idea to stream live tv (like the tdf) on Kodi rather than have DSTV? If you use plex you still need to download and watch later.... To me it looks like what tedibear says will work, but that means I need 4 Pi's. At 1500 for the rasberry and 1100 for the firestick I am looking at between 4400 and 6000 above the 3200 I just paid for the wifi and network installaton. That puts me close to 10k!! .....Grondpad has a prozac moment..... Surely there is another way?
  8. Thanks that sounds like a good solution and I will save plenty moola. I don’t know plex and I will do my google work tonight (seeing that I have 50gb that I wont be unsing for Kodi soon), but can I ask one more question please? Is plex like a program that runs on you PC that you add Kodi to? Do you run plex on the tv and then within it you open Kodi or is Kodi out of the picture now?
  9. OK, so finally after 8 month my internet connection got installed today. Now another curveball that I hope some of you clued-up hubbers can help: I now have a WISP to my house. 8mbps with a 50GB cap (lets see how long that lasts) I have 4 TVs: TV 1, Samsung smart (cant find playstore on it so I don’t know if its android). Will have to connect via the wifi as the clever builders never left a space through the firewall to get the network cable through. I get 6mbps at the tv TV 2 & 3 Samsung smart. Connected with a network cable. (catn find playstore on it so I don’t know if its android) TV 4. Old plasma with a network cable. For TV 4 I am pretty sure I will need something like a RPi. Now as I am not very technical but can sort off help myself, I just have this question: If I get a RPi, can all 4 TV’s work from one presuming you want to play the same “channel” on all tv’s at once? What should I do if I want 4 different “channels”? 4 x RPi’s? (bashing his head cause this is getting really expensive if this is the case)
  10. On this point, anyone did some routes from ATKV Die Eiland? I see on their website they say cycling is an activity, but anyone know if there are actual MTB routes from there?
  11. I hope new isn’t a way of saying “fleshly cut grass” like last year. I think I will give it a skip this year and see what the guys say and if its good, then 2017 is on the cards again. At least it one less of me to cause a bottleneck (thank me later with a beer)
  12. Anyone did the camping this during last years race in Clarens? I am struggling to get affordable accommodation for 6 people so I am looking at the camping thing but I see the avg minimum for April is only 6deg. That's a bit chilly....
  13. Guys, please be honest, is this really worth the schelp? I followed this from the beginning and it seems like it’s a bigger headache than anything else or am I getting only the bad apples? I haven’t had DSTV since November last year and only watched the cycling (epic, world track champs, spring classics etc) at friends’ houses. We moved recently and I am now waiting for my internet line (don’t ask why I am waiting so long, thats another story) and I am just worried when I get Kodi going it not going to be worth all this trouble. I cant go on without cycling on TV…..
  14. Here is the link to my thread of my beloved little Pinnarello Treviso (fixie/track bike). I can’t give you its age cause I still can’t find much info on the web. As you can see n the pics, the bike is in very good condition except for the saddle and I honestly can think of a better fit for the Brooks saddle than this beauty. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/118638-pinarello-treviso/
  15. Can I get our Hub friends in NZ opinions on Dunedin? Apart from my negotiations for spot in Sydney, I also have a new opportunity (since yesterday) for NZ Dunedin. What’s the thought on it? Most of the talk here is based on Auckland and Wellington….
  16. Yes, thank you DisyLizzy. From what I have gathered it seems like I will be OK and only need an adapter or change the plugs as Auz is on 220 - 240 V and SA is on 220 to 230V. I hope I don't blow that place up......
  17. Thanks Patches, that was the one I was looking for. I think it is cheaper for me to take two large MoveCube's than buying everything that side. it will work out to about 33K. I am sure there will be other cost but to replace all the goods must surely be much more expensive. I cant imagine having to buy all the beds, TV's, couch, dinning room stuff, washing machine, dish washer, all my bikes etc and all the kitchen stuff that side again... Anyone here used MoveCube before? I suppose a 4bed house will fit in two (key word here is presume).
  18. Thanks, lets see what the offer says later today but I will surely take you up on the offer Thanks for the info
  19. I asked it on the other thread on getting out of here but I would just like to ask it here as well: Hey Guys I have been following this thread and it looks like I might have an offer on the table from a company in Sydney later today. A while ago on this thread (or may it was the one where Bogus and Wendy went exploring, or maybe the New Zealand one---strange that there are so many topics on this---anyway) I saw someone saying something about a company that drops a container at your house, you pack it and they ship it. I cant find the detail now. Anyone know what the company name was? I have a lot of stuff here in SA and don’t want to sell the stuff. I would rather take it with. For instance, I recently moved into my house and bought 3 new TV’s of which two have not yet even been switched on. They still have their stickers on so maybe I want to take them with….
  20. +1 here. Pulling a mower though a veld does not make it a route. I don't get the 'lets cut the veld for a new track to get from here to there' mentality. The Monster was always one of my favourite races but last year was just terrible. I appreciate a hectic blood from eyes race. I prefer them! But to just ride somewhere cause they had no other plan sucks
  21. Where do we get info on these strider days?
  22. My little dude is turning 2 in a couple of months and he is getting a Balance bike for his Bday. He freaks out about bikes so it’s a super proud dad over here. I would like to “play” with him when he gets his bike so I was thinking of getting a new toy for myself as well. I only want to use it to jump pavements, little ramps and cycling the little paths in the estate with him. Would you guys recommend a jump bike or a BMX for myself?
