  1. I asked it on the other thread on getting out of here but I would just like to ask it here as well: Hey Guys I have been following this thread and it looks like I might have an offer on the table from a company in Sydney later today. A while ago on this thread (or may it was the one where Bogus and Wendy went exploring, or maybe the New Zealand one---strange that there are so many topics on this---anyway) I saw someone saying something about a company that drops a container at your house, you pack it and they ship it. I cant find the detail now. Anyone know what the company name was? I have a lot of stuff here in SA and don’t want to sell the stuff. I would rather take it with. For instance, I recently moved into my house and bought 3 new TV’s of which two have not yet even been switched on. They still have their stickers on so maybe I want to take them with….
  2. +1 here. Pulling a mower though a veld does not make it a route. I don't get the 'lets cut the veld for a new track to get from here to there' mentality. The Monster was always one of my favourite races but last year was just terrible. I appreciate a hectic blood from eyes race. I prefer them! But to just ride somewhere cause they had no other plan sucks
  3. Where do we get info on these strider days?
  4. My little dude is turning 2 in a couple of months and he is getting a Balance bike for his Bday. He freaks out about bikes so it’s a super proud dad over here. I would like to “play” with him when he gets his bike so I was thinking of getting a new toy for myself as well. I only want to use it to jump pavements, little ramps and cycling the little paths in the estate with him. Would you guys recommend a jump bike or a BMX for myself?
  5. Good info this. I have also noted that when I go a day or so without eating I feel hundreds! Do you think one can still take coffee though? I note you are only on water and tea but I don’t drink tea. Do you think coffee is cheating as the caffeine is a stimulant?
  6. That's a great start FHB. Keep at it!
  7. Yesterday we took my little dude on his first bike ride. Super proud dad here! The Weeride is great. I really thought it would be much harder work than it was. The fitting of the Weeride went quick and my son looked really comfy. What a great day out!
  8. I have been doing LCHF/Paleo for about 2.5 years now and my initial reason for this was to feel better in general. And that’s why I stuck with it. Like the other hubber said, I get grumpy when hungry and that doesn’t happen on LCHF. Fortunately for me I lose weight very quick on LCHF. I can drop 6kg quick quick. In off season I hover around 79/81kgs because I switch to a bit more Paleo (to gain weight). Then when the races starts to draw near (like Barberton and Sabie in the next month or so) I switch back to LCHF and drop my weight to about 72/74kg. I don’t do well on carbs. I feel hungry all the time and bloated. Life for me is just so much better on LCHF. I do however load on absolutely any carb I can lay my hands on on race day. But that is the only time. This does not effect my ketosis in race season (lucky for me). Coming to think of it I am really lucky on LCHF  I know this is not for everyone but over the last 2.5 year my cholesterol is the lowest it has ever been, I control my weight, I feel great and in general I am a very happy chappie. Isn’t that what life is supposed to be about?
  9. That sounds great! I will give it a bash. I think the dried coconut will as a great texture to the snack. Thumbs up!
  10. Yes, its Kerrygold butter. Sorry, I should have stopped my lazy ass from typing like that
  11. What recipes do you guys use for your favourite fat bombs? A quick one is the 1 TB of CO + TB of KG + some skinny nomu. I always keep some on hand but would like to try something else
  12. Here is my little dude on his first kind-of bike. He is only 10 months and +/- 70cm but his feet is touching the ground. We got it from the Sates but I haven't seen them here. He really digs it but cant propel himself yet (I think it has something to do with him not walking yet). Very proud dad here!
  13. This weekend in the runner mag I read a feature on a review they did on hydration systems and this one was in there. Looks like you buy it and then you can add bottles as you need. I see it is on special here: http://www.buycycle.co.za/en/accessories/hydration/hydration-packs/camelbak-en-2-3-4-5-6-7/camelbak-charm-ladies-1-5l-hydration-backpack-clone.html
  14. It would be great if this cold catch some speed. Daddy wants/needs a new Garmin! I sent them a mail about two weeks ago but have not yet received a reply
  15. Here is another one. I think its the one I am going to the my little dude when he turns 2: http://www.takealot.com/chillafish-bmxie-12-bmx-styled-balance-bike-blue/PLID32823235?utm_source=GraphicMail&utm_medium=email&utm_term=NewsletterLink&utm_campaign=%28SS%29+newsletter%5Fgeneral%5F17112014&utm_content==
  16. Don't think it will help, but they have some at Lynwood Cyclery in PTA
  17. A quick question to those with the Weeride or something like Bilby Junior Front Seat: http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/bilby-junior-front-seat.html#.VD-8TpiKBMs http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/weeride-kangaroo-carrier.html#.VD-8bZiKBMs How much do your legs bed outwards to ride with these seats? I see the reviews on the web all say that leg movement is a bit of an issue and you battle to make sharp turns (so I presume not singletrack then?)
  18. Start day with Bike ride. Lekker man (think about my fatshake) Look forward to my fatshake Get home and get my fatshake Breakfast – Chocochino Fatshake (Finally!! Now my day can start) Drive to work, thinking of the lekker fatty biltong in my bag. Start stressing than I might have forgotten it. Look in my bag, sjoe I remember it. (maybe have a quick taste just to celebrate my brain that I remembered the biltong) 08:00 – Snack like biltong & droewors Lots of coffee. Smell the cream. Jip, its fine. Ill have some more thank you Lunch – 2 or 3 pieces of oven baked chicken(always take two and reward yourself with one more cause you got up so early to go ride. You deserve it dammit!) with green veggies and lots of butter. Lots of coffee (jip, cream is still fine) 15:00 – snack again. Most of the time its almonds or macadamias Lots of coffee (set reminder to buy coffee cause I am running low at work for some reason) 18:00 – Not really dinner but something like cream cheese, some fatty chicken or meat Open coffee that I bought. Have some with cream. Make plan to have this more often Go to be thinking of my fatshake
  19. I did the 12km last year and I found it hectic. Plenty of single track and lots of climbing. It is a fun run but it will be a hard after a half IM
  20. Nee man. Isnt it suppose to be an "African" team? I wonder what the ratio is between Africans and non-African? Anyone know?
  21. An example of the opposite: Yesterday we went to Cape Union Mart. We bought a carrier for my little dude to come & hike with us. So the tag price says R1699 and the shelve says R1299. What did the salesman say? We’ll sir, it is marked as R1299 here so that is what we will charge you. No arguing or anything. Guess where I will shop first for anything in that retail category in future?
  22. Jip, I have been taking my version of the BPC (but I add Nomu to it as well for my version of a chocochino BPC). If you are on the LCHF lifestyle (like me for just over 2years now) this is a great way to get your daily % of fat up. I aim for a 80% fat so this is a nice early morning bump in the right direction. Honestly, it does taste great. In mine is 50ml CO, 25g KG butter, 75ml cream, 0.5 Nomu Skinny & 1 cup java. Fantastic! Edit.... if you are not on LCHF I do not see the need for the BPC.
