  1. My wife really likes her Cannondale SL 26" size 15". She is 1.52m & 51kg's. The bike fits like a glove and the small size does help on the technical ST.
  2. My Vitality cholesterol feedback after this weekend: 2012 = 4.2 Started LCHF shortly after 2013 = 5.1 2014 = 4.01 Nice ne, but I think it is safe to presume that my HDL is now low as well. Is this bad?
  3. Did not get one, and I don't know of anyone who did.
  4. Thanks for the info Ratty. I live close to Lynnwood Cyclery so I will pop in tonight after work. Thumbs up!
  5. Quick question: Where did you guys find a helmet for the little one? This weekend me and my little dude went searching but all of them are way too big for him and I think it will only be a nuisance to him. He is now 7months old and can sit up on his own so as soon as we can get a helmet we can go for our first ride. Sooooper exited!
  6. You will have to change your mind-set w.r.t riding normally for a while and experiment with some stuff. Your focus for now should be on getting fat adapted and that will take a while. You probably raced at a high avg HR this weekend? You will now need to ride at less than about 75% if you want to burn fat as fuel rather than carbs so a high HR for a prolonged period will get you into trouble (hit the wall). Another option that many on this forum do (including me) is live LCHF but race on carbs. On race day (on race day only, not on long training rides) I chuck down whatever I can find. The day after the race I am back in ketosis with no probs. For me it works but that is not to say it will work for you. All these post on this topic shows that we all differ but there are some guidelines to follow. Experiment on some long training rides. You will know what works for you.
  7. Tracey, don’t be so hard on yourself! Just by sticking to the LCHF is a huge task in itself (well for the first couple of months at least. From there on it’s a much better way of living). I am no expert but I think that as soon as you start training again, the weight will simple melt away. Just be sure to eat more fat and train at lower than 70/75% o max HR. PS. forget about BMI. its nonsense
  8. If you want to combine the fatshake and coffee then you can maybe try what I do (I do this daily before my training ride instead of chowing something): 75ml cream 50ml CO 25g of KG butter Half a tsp of Nomu (skinny) 1 cup of coffee Chuck it into a shaker and then wait till the butter melts (or nuke it for a sec or 2). It’s my version of a fatshake chocochino Its delicious and quick.
  9. +1 on the flaxseed. It was terrible for me so I left it out and now I gorrel them fatshakes and BPC down. I just love it! BPC in the morning and fatshake just after work
  10. That sucks!! Daai was nog altyd n area waar baie fiets gery het en ek gereeld train. Nee man!
  11. Nice work Sportsworld!
  12. Well done!! Keep it up and keep us posted in the LCHF topic as suggested by davetapson
  13. Stick to Bell & Giro (pretty much the same thing). Nice replacement warranty and experts in the field. You can get a nice one for R600
  14. Great idea!! Good luck with your venture
  15. Just read this review and I must say, I am really impressed.
  16. You are going to need the buy in from the event organisers. Without them recognising your site as a means of getting their event out in the open you are going to battle to keep it up to date. A site similar to what you want to do is www.ndorfin.co.za and they have many events but still not all of them. It might be a good idea to contact CSA and get updated info from them. Most of the races in SA needs to book a date with them (and pay them money unfortunately) so I would say that would be your best source of info. If you can manage to let riders enter the events on your site it would be another plus but I can see that happening with all the different ways one needs to enter lately and the organisers using mostly the timing companies to handle the entries. It might be a good idea to maybe partner with someone like Discovery as well. They give vitality points for races done so they can also help boost your site with entries/advertising etc of race. This might be a viable income stream in future for advertising of accommodation & cycling related products/services so good luck with the venture.
  17. What unsulted butter would you guys recommend? I use Kerrygold for my fatshake but want to try unsulted for the bulletproof coffee. Any recommendations?
  18. Nice post. Gonna give this a bash.
  19. My little dude is now 5months, but that is what I am gonna get him for his first B-day. That Alu one looks great (and hardcore with the knobbies). At 1 year he wont be able to ride it yet, but a couple of months on I am sure he will be burning the trails (or garden, corridor, whatever)
  20. Thanks RB. I went onto the site but there is no link for a sub. Do I just enter as normal and it will prompt me if I want to do a sub at a later stage?
  21. Anyone know how to do a sub on an entry? Do I need to do it a number picup, prior or on raceday morning?
  22. Sounds lekker. Those hills will do great for some training!
  23. Give Velo Life in Menlyn a shout. The other day I read that they rent out MTB's
