  1. Do not use these shoes with flat pedals, as they are not designed for this - the grip will be terrible.
  2. 62 actually The comments on Youtube are priceless. Here she is around 1981
  3. Yes, it is the kind of song you listen to multiple times.
  4. Unbelievable that for a relatively unknown band, this video has over 122 000 000 views.
  5. Yeah not a very good video. My biggest disappointment though is that the thumbnail promises far more eye candy than the video delivers.
  6. Yes, I have read that, as well as Die tyd van die Kombis. I am a bit of a fan, and go and see him live every time he comes to P.E., so must have seen him about 7 times.
  7. For many years, Koos was sponsored by Tassies, and always appeared on stage with a bottle next to him. At one stage, he contacted the bottlers to renew the sponsorship. However, the staff had changed and no-one knew who he was. He subsequently obtained sponsorship from Beyerskloof, and now always appears with a bottle of this next to him. I'm sure the writing of the song is linked to this. However, the thought of having a bottle of Beyerskloof Pinotage instead of Tassies to drink every time you perform is enough to make anyone break into song. However the song originated, I still like it, but I agree that it is not in the same league as Lisa se Klavier.
  8. I was initially going to post this in Song of the Day, but felt that this was was the more appropriate thread for Koos Kombuis's ode to Pinotage. Also, Delarey is referenced in the lyrics.
  9. I've just watched it tonight and agree with you. In the "National Service" film genre, I preferred Kanarie.
  10. Never seen anything like this before. Looks dangerous. https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-other-antique-collectables/port-elizabeth/antique-mini-bicycle-foldable/1008546716850911240748709
  11. And then to just leave him in the road to possibly be run over by a vehicle. The lack of humanity shown is appalling.
  12. Most read article: "Why you need special cycling kit for riding an indoor trainer" Definitely not aimed at me.
  13. Excellent insult ????
  14. Although similar, this is not the Dropkick Murphys - the band's name is Flogging Molly. In fact, your posting of the Dropkick Murphys song reminded me of this one.
  15. Here's some Celtic folk punk for ya. Their live concerts look like a fat party
  16. Yes, but for how long https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/187467-matt-and-nick/page-2?do=findComment&comment=3740972
  17. Please re-consider. Bikehub will be a lesser place without the off topic discussions.
  18. Love that pure voice.
  19. Is that you, Donald?
  20. Nice historical pic at Jan Smuts airport. As the British Airways 747 is in a transitional livery from BOAC to British Airways, this dates the photo to 1974/75. I think the obscured aircraft are a SAA 747 and Swissair DC10.
  21. Excellent performance by Ella Mental at Concert in the Park, Jhb 1985. Sure some of you older Joburg boytjies must have been there. Funnily enough, I saw them live later that night at the Feathermarket Hall in P.E. - after this performance they flew down.
  22. In a similar vein, Kanarie is well worth a look. If you have done national service, you will see that they get the Korporale spot on - total d**ses.
  23. A beautiful woman with a very distinctive voice. Had some success in the late eighties and then seemed to disappear.
  24. Great version of Where Is My Mind - Black Francis, the singer from The Pixies appearing with Placebo.
  25. In the mood for some 80's electro-pop.
