I understand what you saying Cycling Major. I have also experienced a few like that. This is a generalization but from my experiences the men, in general, seem to ride a bit more considerately than some women, in general. The women just ride, the men indicate.

I think what Till said is a bit more believable than what Bellairs said. Having them close together would get teams to race both and be logistically better for visiting teams. It would then be much more attractive and possibly be more inviting for overseas teams.

Marlon, you will find all types on this forum. Most of us ride for fun even if some take their racing very seriously. I think it is great that you are on the bike. Even the largest of riders are doing more than the thinist of non-riders and that immediately gains respect!

From what I heard on the radio it may be a different case to that drugged rape one. Consensual sex under a certain age still amount to statutory rape. But, yes, the NPA are idiots! I have a friend who was a prosecutor until recently. You won't believe what goes on there.

He has to take reasonable steps to ensure he doesn't negligently eat or drink any contaminated food or drink. But it would possibly be unreasonable to expect it totally. You can't expect him to go so far as to grow his own food etc. But yes, he must be more careful than say, you and I.

As far as I know the UCI rules distinguish between intentional and negligent taking. If his claims were true then it would most likely fall under negligent taking. Seems like he is just trying to go for the negligent angle as it mitigates the situation and he could get a lesser sentence. So he is guilty but using his beef story to get as light a sentence as possible.
