  1. Just don't overdo it.
  2. Enjoy!
  3. Looks nice I suppose. Even though it seems like some klapped it with a hammer in a few places. What excited me the most are the Lightweight and Most Lightweight wheels! Now that is worth looking at!!
  4. I recently also had a clicking noise. Check everything and eventually found out it was coming from my rear wheel. Check the bearings in there.
  5. I am with you on this one!
  6. The Umhlanga one is road. Not sure about the Ballito one but I suspect that it may be road as well. Not sure exactly.
  7. The rides in Umhlanga meet at 5am at the small offramp on the Ballito side of the main Umhlanga offramp. Usually goes to Ballito before turning around.
  8. Sounds like it was a good ride! Glad you enjoyed it!
  9. Looks fabulous! May you have many miles of safe and enjoyable riding!
  10. Same for me!
  11. I agree. One of my reasons as well. It can avoid a lot of trouble and wasted time later on.
  12. Where did I mention that I expected them to be online all the time? Where did I say I wanted the information NOW? Nowhere did I say either of that. The information was not urgent at all and a few days wait is no problem for me. But it is curteous to respond to customers' emails eventually. But almost two weeks with no response? As I mentioned, Northcliff Cycles responded after a few days which was fine because there was no rush but the important thing is that there did respond. As to the reason for email, please re-read my posts as you seemed to have overlooked a few sentences. Besides, you are making a huge issue out of email vs phone when there is no reason to. Thanks for the phone number, I will write it down for future reference. Btw, if they didn't want email then why list the email addresses?
  13. Exactly! And if they willing to respond to emails then their service level appears that bit higher.
  14. At that time a phone call was not possible. Besides, I like having things in black and white so that I can compare my options better. The info tends to be more complete and there is less room for disputes later one. It also shows that bit more about a particular shop/establishment etc if they take the trouble to respond to emails.
  15. I haven't used them for servicing but I sent them an email asking about a product on 26/11/2010. I am still waiting for a response. I sent a similar email to Northcliff Cycles the same day and got a reply from Alex on the 1/12/2010 apologising for the delay as he was at the DC and giving me the info. I would much rather go to Northcliff now than Dunkeld.
  16. Brilliant!
  17. I have not had anything break on my two bikes (one is full carbon with carbon seatpost, saddle rails, cranks) and other is aluminium but with carbon seatpost. The aluminium one has been in two bad crashes and no damage to the carbon seatpost. I think that carbon doesn't break easily but when it does break, it really does. You should be more than fine with the carbon stuff.
  18. Luckily not. He is not BIG enough to be BIG H. Besides BIG H is not in the Caymans, he is in some African city where Garmin Cervelo would never go to!
  19. Rather than looking at the frame look at what groupset and wheels it comes with and base your decision on the best possible groupset that you can get. This aluminium frame is similar to that aluminium frame. So rather make your focus the components.
  20. Can't believe you didn't recognise him! That is Oom Hennie van der Merwe!
  21. I agree. In April I switched over from Polar to Garmin. Got myself the Edge 500. It is awesome! The customizability is fantastic!
  22. I have a friend who owns a bike shop and he told me about this special slime for higher pressures that you put in tubulars. So normal punctures would get sealed whereas with clinchers you would have to stop and change the tube. Of course if you get a big hole then your ride/race would be over with both tubulars and clinchers. I think for the normal small holes with a bit of slime you should be fine.
  23. You don't have to "make sure every other potential avenue is exhausted". Only that all REASONABLE avenues are exhausted. The law only requires you to do what a reasonable man in the same position would do. It does not place a burden on you to exhaust every other potential avenue.
  24. Sounds like it could be interesting!
  25. Looks fabulous!
