  1. Tumbleweed, that is the Tour de Suisse crash yes.
  2. It did. Cav and Haussler are still having issues about it. Cav apologised to Haussler at Tour of Qatar. No sure how many went down but quite a few did.
  3. Eastons are great wheels. My EA90 Aero's have been great.
  4. Really looks fantastic! How does it ride?
  5. You can't compare Carnival to 94.7! 94.7 is continuously undulating. This is relatively flat. Don't bother looking a profiles because if there is a 200m vertical ascent climb but over 15km then you will not even feel it as a climb. Ride for Sight was also flattish but with a few undulations near SBR towards Heidelburg and then one proper climb out of Heidelburg.
  6. Sounds good. Where can we read your blog?
  7. Just seen this thread now and haven't tried it yet but will soon. But one thing I would like to have is a feature that I can log rides as follows: Road Training Road Racing Road Total MTB Training MTB Racing MTB Total The data for each is distance, time and ascent. Currently doing it manually in Excel but a program with customizable reporting and totaling would be great.
  8. Looks great! May you have many happy miles! Looking forward to seeing it completed!
  9. Listen to what jmaccelari says, unless you got lots of popcorn and coke on hand!
  10. Quite a quick recovery from knee and sore throat. Do you recommend Doctor Vilakazi?
  11. Not much Tour of SA today so I guess his knee is still sore.
  12. Thanks Jasper. Your marshals for the A bunch have been great! I have always found them to be effective and finding a good balance between allowing the freedom of racing and the safety of the bunch.
  13. You should have a chat to HA HA Kieran about the Gipiemme wheels. Bought myself a set since I also didn't want to pay Zipp prices. As far as I know there is some connection to Campag wheels with the Gipiemme's. I have Eastons as well and these Gipiemme's are better while not breaking the bank. I would seriously consider them!
  14. That is not good at all! Please report it to Muldersdrift SAPS. If we all do then hopefully they can do something about it.
  15. Option 4 then Option 1. Full zip please!
  16. At racing intensities it is not improbable.
  17. There was a breakaway. I heard it mentioned in the bunch and have a look at the results. 5 riders got 2:41 and then the main bunch got 2:43. What happened to the missing "42"? It was never a 20 minute advantage. Maybe a couple of minutes but at all the races so far this year A has been flying! Apology accepted. Sorry that your race was also spoiled by a few idiots who thought it would be smart to join our A bunch. Noting specific numbers would be difficult as I saw quite a lot of C4 riders who had joined. That is disgusting! Especially since the marshals are out there for our safety!
  18. Generally an anti-biotic course needs to be finished. So lay off the training, finish the course and then get back to training. chances are you will be training better and sooner than if you trained through.
  19. Slowpoke, thanks for yours efforts. I rode A and the Cat 4 riders really messed up our race. Their DQ was fully deserved! It just made things very dangerous for everybody. Jimmy, main A got about 2:43. But I think there was a breakaway group. Not sure how far ahead as the Cat 4 riders messed things up and caused confusion.
  20. Thanks for the laugh Edam!
  21. Thanks for sharing! I saw this new Lemond trainer recently on some website or in some magazine. Seems to be the "next big thing" in indoor trainers.
  22. I read an article recently on what various people in the cycling world foresee for the future and disc brakes on road bikes was one of the things mentioned. But then the UCI would probably have to change a stack of rules relating to bike design which could take ages since they now have nothing better to do than haggle over radios.
  23. I bought the Tracks4Africa SD card for my 705 and it was about R828 shipped.
  24. The Edge 500 doesn't have maps. Only the 705 and 800. I think about R3.5k bundled. I have one and I would highly recommend it.
  25. Do yourself a favour and go to the Centre for Sports Medicine in Rosebank. I had a bad knee injury in 2004. Cortisone injection didn't work and physio didn't help that much. My physio referred me to the Centre for Sports Medicine and I eventually had some or other injection (can't remember the name now) directly into the tendon. It was better within a few days. There was even some Lions rugby player having the same injection while I was there.
