  6. I have been inspired by this. This is beautiful and looks like a lot of fun with sophistication. The colors are great as well. Which specific gear shift does this bike have ?? If you are sure you know the system please help. You'll see the two black cables that run to the "black box" at the rear.
  7. I'm really interested in a nexus. Under the impression that there are different models, and I'm not finding clarity on the differences. Do I have to do a CRC here, or does anybody know of local stockists in the WCape?

  10. Clamp means that the FD is supplied with a ring. The Fd is attached to the seat tube by this ring that clamps around the tube. The diameter of the tubing is important and hence the measurements, which can be far more varied than just 32 or 35mm diameter. Braze on means that there is a small appendage already attached to the frame specifically the seat tube (ear shaped appendage) which the FD will bolt on to. This is a clamp on FD:

  16. I followed this sale thread. I didn't buy anything. I think this guy sold quite a few. You are the only guy who's come back to give feedback. Its good of you to do so. I'd like to hear the stories of all the others, because I'm sure there are plenty of people who spent poorly. Why haven't they shared. It will give this seller more to think about in future. Perhaps becomes a case in point for previously suggested seller rating system. Sorry if I missed something.
  17. LeTurbo, I think you will appreciate this pic:
  18. Sorry bout that I'vce re read: I see it wasn't a technical question, but an acceptability issue. Yes, I think is deemed acceptable to have non-black rims
  19. On a serious note BLACK IS HOTTER its a scientific thing that black has been proven to be more thermodynamic than white Black gets hotter quicker. As we have learnt from FOrmula 1: hot tyres are desirable. <rolls eyes.

  22. These folk know how to pick great weather. Its perfect again tonight. Saw them tonight on Durban Road at about 18h20 pushing hard, heading to D'ville They had left behind a single lady rider +/- 800m blonde white frame head turner
  23. Didn't mean it like that. Premium in the subjective sense. What do we as the customer perceive as a premium? *When do we start quibbling price/ is something expensive? RE value threshold? eg above R2000? *Is there a value to the peace of mind in having easy to settle warranty with a local receipt. *Is there a premium for "have it now" vs "delay from the global store"
