  1. Same here that's why we keep losing the route when going there😁. There's also some great new (to us) trails πŸ‘Œ
  2. A beautiful morning on Bottelary hills, not the first or last time we missed a turn or 2 and doing some extra climbing πŸ˜‚ Pap tyres first needed to recharge with cold beer and pizza to make it home afterwards. πŸ•πŸ»
  3. Sorry only saw Chris reply didn't read the storie, was out on the trails. I know of a girl who is doing really good, podium most races. Started on a nice HT upgraded to a sweet dual xc race machine. She's back on the HT and doing better. Plus HT forces you to learn the correct techniques which will make him a better rider in future. Never mind the fortune you will save in keeping a dual going.
  4. I will ad tyres on your HT makes a big difference. I have 3 sets 1 for everyday Gravel set (I still need to return to @ChrisF😁) I used for CTCT And my "fun" set for places like Jonkershoek.
  5. Have a look at Hardtail Owners on Facebook, guys competing and doing great in even downhill. With my limited skills I have not encountered a trail I could not ride on my HT.
  6. I'm running a xt cassette and chain with the last XX1 derailleur, works perfectly . Bigger question does your frame work with that derailleur? If you like fancy things I could see the point, I've just seen to many average Joe's just having issues with electronic shifting, I've even past Niño while he had issues with it 🀣 I like to go ride when the mood strikes not when the battery is charged 😁
  7. Nope nooit nie 🀣 dit maak nog te seer as die mooi girls sΓͺ oom πŸ˜‚
  8. On a longer ride let's take CTCT for example my average HR was +-150 but on a shorter harder ride like laps of Banhoek it's over 160. I've seen my max at close to 200. I'm 18 with little over 23 years of experience 😁
  9. Die MTB Cape Argus, Stellenbosch mtb challenge en Buffet olives. These where lekker fun rides and where cheap to enter.
  10. I know for a fact of a bike with damage being sold to dealer and they where informed about it. That bike was sold as is, damage hidden by lowering shock pressure, bike just covered in bike polish. It was not on Bikehub but that dealer is on here.
  11. I love the comment of people over value their bikes. These would be the same people advertising it for more than the original advertised price. πŸ€” Special service... πŸ˜‚ Use Bikehub Pay it's a million times less expensive than the used bike businesses. If you don't know anything about bikes take it to a proper mechanic to check out.
  12. Play day at Banhoek. On the second session lekker in the flow one of these horned beauties was standing across the trail. Luckily he moved out the way most likely the look on my face scared him πŸ˜‚
  13. As an old cyclist once told me, "dit maak nie saak wat jy ry nie dit moet getrap word".
  14. Could most likely be auto pause so they are posting moving time and the event posts total time.
  15. Pritty expensive for unedited photos. But hey at least a couple looked good.
  16. I must be lucky we received our photos last week already. Did you not get the email link?
  17. As they say don't stop till you see Jesus or the checkered flag 😁 thanks for the interesting insight. Best of luck for the rest of the week πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
  18. I saw him out there, hats off to him and well done πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
  19. 25000 people pushing for place, the first couple of km's would look like a battlefield with bodies and parts scattered everywhere.
  20. If @ChrisF came past me and offered help, let's just say I had a extra rope with me which would have been used πŸ˜‚
  21. Why is there so much hate is a little strong word, dislike towards the top placing women. I'm not in the top/fast bunches so just trying to understand. If there's a big group and she is able to hang on, to me that's well done. I know unless I'm holding on to a vehicle I'm not going to be able to stay at that speed. I get they don't work in front but they are so small it's not like they are going to be blocking much wind anyway.
  22. I get what you are saying I'm sure it must have been fun. I'm not the smallest guy and a sub 3 is not happening anytime soon. But that's just it when I started cycling I was still recovering from a major accident and could not ride the 5km of Majik forest. 10 years of riding and I've done ulta marathons and multi stage races and this year was the most stressful challenge of being responsible for a special needs child in a buggy. The sense of accomplishment when we crossed the finish line is undesirable. Now that's just it what gets the cyclists blood boiling, it's working for years to get under the "magic" 3hour mark and some mis it by seconds and feel devastated. So when someone just buys the ability to do it you can see how that would upset some people. PS: I'm not attacking you or criticising you, I just want to give you a different perspective.
  23. I was not talking about you. As I said glad you enjoyed it.
  24. Cool glad you enjoyed it πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
  25. If your group was before I'd say 7am I get racing for time. We started 7h39 and even with the buggy caught up to so many bunches and there was so many unnecessary crashes caused by people trying to speed through without looking or carrying what they do to other people.
