  1. Awesome. Who says cycling is not a team sport ?
  2. Absolutely bloody fantastic. I had tears in my eyes. And cudos to Gerrans. Can't ask for a better mate than that.
  3. There is a certain Johan Bruyneel on that list.
  4. Every one on that list was doped up. So yes, if on dope can ride those times again.
  5. Just received a mail to say was successful. Now I need some sponsors ! First time I entered the lottery.
  6. Forget the Rapport, what about a Peugeot Mirage MK II. Only the top guys rode those :-)
  7. I'd also say Scott, but out of the 2 Merida.
  8. gtr1

    XX 1

It is lighter. lack of gearing options is an issue and cost. No alternative for chain or cluster other than XX1.
  9. OB reads these messages but doesn't care. But hey, at least he was wearing a helmet !!
  10. A Tag Heuer Kirium Formula 1 ( with the digital display in the face) Also have an Omega Seamaster from 1962 from my father. Still origonal strap etc. Casio Dive watch, a few Polar heart rate monitor watches. A Festina.A Raymond Weil. And a whole bunch of swatches,, like 20 or so.
  11. So why, if from Jan 2013 should DG be excluded but NH and HF exempt. Make a rule and let it apply to everybody. If it's a case of you have ever been caught doping not team, then that's it. These guys should think of the consequences before they dope. NH caused an entire team to lose their livelihood when Neotel pulled out. He's ok now. What I do find interesting is that there is so many people pissed off with DG at the moment and feeling sorry for kevin, but when someone wants to do what Chris is suggesting then the comments come out like worrying abot the guys making a living etc. Hey, there are other jobs out there, and they should think of this before they dope. We all want to eradicate doping, but when someone takes a stance the Ag Shame factor comes out. We are either serious about doing something or we aren't.
  12. First offence - 2 year prison sentence. Then if you manage a comeback after that and get caught again, Another prison sentence followed by Lifetime ban. Oh yes, and recover all winnings and endorsements and use the money to fund anti-doping. Or fund their prison stay so the taxpayer doesn't have to pay.
  13. Many years back. Rapport Tour days. Some of the parties no longer around.
  14. To a lot of people what DG did will have no effect on their lives. But when you are in a situation competing with guys on dope its a different story. I competed and personally saw evidence of a doping incident where a teamate had lost a tour becuase the the 2 guys who beat him on a crucial stage were both tested positive. And yes SACF swept it under the carpet. This was told to the guy in my presence by the tour doctor who had run the tests. This same rider then dope on the tour that I am riding with him as a teammate. Before this incident I literally pulled him over the hills. 2 days later he is winning Kinfg of the Mountains and is a hero. I was just a teammate in the bunch. he admiited to doping to me after the tour. So yes, you start asking questions whether the only way to also compete is to take dope. So has a major effect on your outlook and you potential career. In that same tour, a bunch of guys were caught positive in the breakaway. Guess what, SACF swept it under the carpet again becuase it was all the top names in SA cycling. I can tell you though, if it was a lesser rider he would be banned. Just how the politics work. So this is why so many people pissed off with the dopers. it does effect many of us, or has. And if it doesn't we can relate to thos it does effect. Never mind the tarnishing of images and loss of income through sponsorships for other riders who aren't doping. Like Nedban and Neotel pulling out of the sport. Now that's effecting a lot more careers and salaries than the 1 doper that gets caught and punished.
  15. He should have thought of the consequences before he took anything. In or out of competition. Taking EPO out of competition enables you to train harder and therefore be better on race day. It's still illegal and performance enhancing. Hence the reason why they do out of competition tests. He is guilty and must suffer the consequences. He takes out a license and abides ny the rules that specify what is illegal and what happens if caught. End of story. Suspension is 2 years minimum from wthe positive test, so yes you can't go back and penalise him before this, but from that day, any results are null and void. Look at Contador. Lost all his results during the 18 months he raced while they went through all the various hearings etc.
  16. Maybe someone should ask Greg if excess carbo loading could be a form of doping or gaining an unfair advantage ???? But then again, could give you extra courage for those downhills :-)
  17. I know Finish Line in Kempton has sold quite a few sets. Beware though, I believe they do have a weight limit .....not saying you're fat :-)
  18. You might stop doping when it can become a criminal offence. Stick a guy in jail for 2 years and then he can come back to cycling. 2 years behind the rest. Whereas now, they guy takes a 2 year rest, probly dopes a bit while he is at it. Trains like hell and comes back a better rider. That's unless the case takes 18 months to resolve, then all he needs is a 6 month christmas break. Also confiscate whatever money he made and donate it to WADA to combat doping. I agree, I can't stand OH being holier than though about other dopers who have made a comeback when he was a doper. I once sent an e-mail to Supersport after a show all about doping and asked the question about how credible when OH an ex doper, guess what, I received no reply.
  19. Sometimes it feels even worse when the rider admits it straight out. He seems like an even bigger tjop !!!! Obviously learnt a lot during his time with lance. Puts into question all his results during his career.
  20. Eddy without a doubt. Hiw win ration is the best, he also won just about everything. Also don't forget all the 6-Day track events he won. He rode with Patrick Sercu most of the time. If there was mountain biking in the day, he would've probably ridden that too :-)
  21. Just as cyclists/Sportspeople have been doping for many years, so have the authorities been covering it up for just as long !! Why is any of that going to suddenly chnage ???? They are all making money and all want to save their arses and protect their income/positions.
  22. Maybe you should edit it to say " Lance is an enigma in that he's a great athlete on drugs, but a horrible human being " The question has to be just how great he would have been without the meds ? And ok I agree before I get shot down in flames, same can be said about many athletes, not just cyclists.
  23. Whichever one is mates with Lance Armstrong
  24. Does Natalie not have an advantage because of less drag ???? Which in swimming is a major factor !!
