  1. Looks like you can go wrong with either - I’m partly familiar with overberg one which is pretty and easier The Karoo one is tougher so depends on how tough you want your ride You really can’t go wrong with any of these
  2. You’ve been given a few options and you also get drywall plugs which you could use to anchor a nice piece of timber and then screw the bike mount to that - apart from a butterfly mechanism I wouldn’t mount the holder to a dry wall - you can only get away with your TV method so many times
  3. If my mechanic moves so does my family - if he moves to Siberia then so are we
  4. I have every confidence Bus driver Francesco Villa will keep up with the other buses
  5. An AXS battery lasts 25 hours just so you know - I generally get tired after 24 hours non stop. I then test for 1 hour whilst my battery recharges and off I go everesting for another 24 hours Judging by where you ride I should hope you can get up those passes on a 36 front cassette and and 11 speed. Even I can and that's saying something As a matter of interest you can get some really good 11 speed options from Garbaruk - not cheap but incredible quality so good value per KM My AXS cost nowhere near your figure by the way and as a guy who has a few sets of Campy and love all things Campagnolo, AXS shifts smoother and better. Will it last as long, I don't know I wasn't saying the Campy stuff is rubbish, I was just saying they are pricing high and relying on brand loyalty from their customers (like me who in this case prefers AXS)
  6. and on that note John, where's my Colnago? I understand you have a busy schedule so I can wait. You get it in every sport. Kid comes 3rd in the U10's competing against four other surfers and his parents think he's going on the world tour. That's the problem with the eveyones a winner culture Meanwhile there are kids with nothing sharing bikes/surfboards/golf clubs with genuine hunger and proper talent.
  7. significantly more expensive than chorus 12 although I'm using rim brakes as a reference but then there is an extra derailleur For this money you are competing with AXS and even as a die hard Campy fan, it's a no contest
  8. NTT training camp ?
  9. Campagnolo, making Ferrari's accessible to Mercedes drivers I might ™ that
  10. if humankind only operated on the basis of what we need only, we'd still be hunter gatherers And the planet would be better for it but there would be no bicycles
  11. many years ago we made these things for Americans called shoe lift - basically inserts for boots to raise your height I'll throw in a set for you My dad always tells me a story about a hand me down bike he got where my grandfather put blocks on the pedals......I can do this for you too
  12. dream build but not my dream bike it seems
  13. no its 400 and that line wasn't the min insertion as it turned out - the flex I thought I was feeling is called rear suspension which I haven't experienced in so long I though my seatpost was bendy
  14. Yes, I suspected that after not having a mountain bike for a year and not missing it one bit this might happen I live in gravel paradise and have a bike that brings me so much joy that I just can't even bring myself to ride the Cannondale - been fooling around on my track on my hardtail and that's fun but I don't need a bike worth more than my car for that. Mountain biking requires concentration and with gravel biking I just get lost in the beauty and my thoughts for hours I had all the parts and at the time enjoyed the stage racing events. So I had to do the build but that machine can't just sit looking pretty - I have enough unused over capitilised roadbikes as it is. I just had a long weekend of unreal riding and the dreambuild didn't even feature in my thoughts Sorry bike, I'm just not into you
  15. I think he’s great for racing - mistiming attacks and imploding, leg shakes and animation He’s exciting and fun to watch whether he gets it right or not. I’m glad he won because he goes for it
  16. I heard the commentators saying they just pull off into the pits as they get dropped rather than do another lap
  17. I like the sound of this bike ????
  18. But your evidence is anecdotal, you can’t personally speak to riding with a battery that fell off - your friend lost his so you don’t know who fitted it - I actually have it on my bike and it’s going nowhere
  19. The small bergplaas community surrounded by gravel heaven - Hoekwil Garden Route
  20. Finding new gravel routes in the Outeniqua mountains, not another human in sight
  21. Had a hard ride today and the commentary is making me sleepy ????
  22. It’s a gravel gruppo, it’s apparently going to be priced similarly to GXR and sram equivalent, it’s not going to have all the usual proprietary normal campy issues but of course there will be some as with many brands - it’s called protecting the brand comrades Remember it’s rivals only offer 11 gears for gravel on their mechanic gruppos Ffs guys do some homework before slamming the best gruppo company in the known universe Ok that may have been a bit much but unless you’ve had Campagnolo then perhaps reserve judgement It’s a bit like a gold XX1 chain - seems expensive till 10 000kms down the line
